Old Town Clovis

Old Town has WAY too many antique stores, like a dumb amount. However, they’re still open, so SOMEONE must be loving them. And they are absolutely cute and fun to look around, but they are lavishly sprinkled all throughout Old Town.
However, Old Town does an awesome job of keeping this section lively. There are constant events: Farmers Market, Big Hat Days, Rodeo, Clovis Fest, Enchanted Evening, their own parade… here is just constantly an event to go to.
The area is super cute. Old Town definitely charms it up in terms of the building and landscape.
During my 2^nd pregnancy, I was having contractions, but it was still too early to go to the hospital (I didn’t want to just sit there having contractions) so my hubby took me to eat at Rodeo Café, and we just walked around Old Town. Every few blocks I would stop, hold my tummy and then just keep strolling through window shopping at all the stores until I was ready to go to the hospital.

Great place to come walk around with your family or friends. There are a variety of stores and restaurants around to choose from. The thrift stores are fun to look at. If you have kids, be sure to keep an eye on them because it is a busy street.

This should be the prime «to-​do «list for any tourist visiting Fresno and Clovis because old town clovis really is like going to Disneyland based on the fact that it resembles one major part of disneyland, and that part is called main street USA. The resemblance is almost uncanny, with its whimsical buildings, detailed fixtures, brick walls, classical wide streets, antiquities, the old style of everything. I truly love the authentic feeling of America here, it really feels like the good old times, this is basically what a foreigner like me would think about or vision before coming to america, I mean this is the image we foreigners think of america. It recreates the carefree time and happy memories for most people, but most importantly for youth like me its an adventure in turning back the calendar to the days of its founding fathers. It also feels like your on a set of a hollywood old western movie.
Its quite a huge ground to cover, so wearing comfortable clothing and shoes is important, parking is free limited to 2 – 3 hours, which is more than enough to walk around and eat, and there are longer term parking here too, with signs showing where to park, but overall old town is definitely one of the most unique places in America to visit and a true identity of Clovis California, there is no place like this in California except maybe disneyland. It would be a shame to not see it. Pop into the visitors centre, which happens to be an old train depot, very unique looking building with victorian architecture, its hard to miss on Clovis avenue to find more information, its a visitors centre so it will be very helpful.
This is a heaven for antique hunters since shop after shop is selling antiques, also after a busy day of shopping antiques, there are plenty of coffee shops and eateries around the area to fill your hungry belly, with some of the best and finest restaurants such as Trelio and Rev located within the vicinity. Spas, Barbers, Salon also is conveniently and randomly located on this classic town, perfect for locals and visitors to find a retreat. There is even a mini-​museum located on the square. Taverns and bars for thirsty visitors are also plenty around here.
Many events are also held here including the Evening Friday Farmers Market (May-​Sept), and the spectacular big hat days. Stroll walk and engulf in the tradition, history and art of this place. Its also great to visit one the the most beautiful coffee shops– kuppa joy.

Quaint Main Street feel that largely doesn’t exist anymore in this country. A nice break from the endless strip malls. Lots of restaurants. Antiques too I believe. Several large events throughout the year. Don’t know about the bar scene anymore since I haven’t been to one in a while. Walkable. Safe.

Lovely downtown with quaint shops, plenty of restaurants, and easily walkable.
We love to stop in at the Museum on the corner of Pollasky and 4^th.
If you happen to be there during an evening event, you may have to look for a parking place, but fear not, it is an easy walk from any where you may park.
Christmas is especially delightful. The stores still decorate and makes it a nice holiday treat if you want to walk in the evening. You will feel very safe.

The heart of Clovis. This is where the city’s seasonal events take place, from the weekly farmers’ market to Big Hat Days, Clovis Fest, the children’s electrical parade, and so many more fests. There are beautiful and cluttered antique shops to explore, delicious eateries, and lovely walkways. If you’re looking for a great book, a scoop of ice cream, a cup of coffee, or a bowl of spaghetti. you can find it here. I am looking forward to the new heritage cultural center that will be going into the old Gary O Furniture shop – which will be the perfect addition to the area.
My favorite thing about Old Town Clovis is that it is a living breathing part of the community. This is not just a touristy section of town – but is instead where locals go to celebrate the seasons, purchase fresh produce, and enjoy family time together.

Old Town’s a four-​block section of central Clovis with a variety of shops, restaurants, and bars. There’s even a grandfathered casino on the corner of Clovis and 5^th avenues.
If antiquing is your thing, Old Town probably offers the best selection of shops in the Valley. I’ve found a neat selection of old windows, wooden crates, shutters and ladders that I’ve used in variety of home-​improvement projects over the years. (Yeah, I’m Martha Stewart-​y like that sometimes.)
In addition to the antiques shops, there are a couple of bookstores, nice furniture shops, salons, an upscale restaurant, coffee shops, jewelery and appliance stores, and a partridge in a pear tree.
Parking is free (versus parking in downtown Fresno); there are public restrooms, and this morning I found out that there is now free WiFi.
