Whomever the middle aged, brunette, Hispanic woman is in the non-​appt question line is needs another go around in training! Rude! Rude! Rude! Hey lady here’s a tip, SMILE! I know you hate your job but would it kill you to at least fake it???

I was taking my drivers test and the minute I walked in the employees were rude and had no costumer service skills. The officer rating me found the dumbest reasons to fail me. And wasn’t paying attention when she asked me where all my cars signals and other buttons were so she marked that I didn’t know were one was when I had clearly pointed to it. Hated my experience here. Never again. Wish I could rate a 0.

Well… It’s the department for motor vehicles… How great can this review really get? First off the lines and wait time are painfully long. If you do not have an appointment expect a long wait, 2 hours or more. As far as customer service it’s really just luck of the draw. Some agents are friendly, others are the most sinfully boring person to walk the planet.
Helpful hint… If you are just paying to renew your tags, walk into the doors and turn immediately to you right to the self service machine. Be sure to bring your renewal notice with you!

Slower than molasses in January going uphill! If you don’t have an appointment, you are so screwed and gonna wait forever!!! People standing around b. S. Ing!!! Need more people working, less talking to each other!!! No stars if I could give it!

Since the Clovis DMV is closest to my house, this is the one that I usually go to. I miss the old one that use to be based in Old Town Clovis, but it was a bit too small for the growing community.
I made an appointment for today’s appointment, thankfully so. Although I did have to wait about 30 minutes with an appointment, it was much better than waiting hours without one. Once called, Linda helped me, and with it being towards the end of the day, she was patient and courteous with me. I was finished within 30 minutes, making my total visit about an hour.
Most of my visits are an hour or less, and several of the employees are pretty mundane, but not rude. Just a word of advice, try to make an appointment if possible.

I wasn’t certain what to expect, but I was in and out in under 15 minutes! I would strongly encourage you to make an appointment online FIRST as when I arrived, there was only one person ahead of me in the «Made-​An-​Appointment» line but tons of folks in the «No Appointment» line. Also, ensure you bring your driver’s license renewal document with you – the one the DMV will send you as the date of your driver’s license expiration draws closer. I didn’t and had to fill out another document, but they were so fast that I didn’t have the document completed before they called my number, so I had to sit back down until I finished the form!
Jordan was AWESOME. She was very helpful, very friendly (I think she sits at Window #16). Everyone behind the counter seemed very busy but willing to assist. All in all, a surprisingly pleasant experience as DMVs go!

5 stars because I was in and out in 10 minutes!!! Friendly and fast. Can’t beat that.

Ues its the DMV and it is like pulling a tooth to go. It pretty much should be standard practice to make an appointment prior to jumping into the fray. It is an interesting people watching place.
Even with an appointment plan on waiting a bit. The young lady who processed me was nice and efficient. I would think it to be a challenge to be friendly all day there.

Worst to come in the morning. Older female with brittle orange hair with glasses denied a form i filled out after an employee there told me to. What is the point to fill it out a form if its not going to assist? Idiotic. I detest the dmv period. Now i remember why i value the mail and internet service.

Renewed car registration using the self automated machine. Paid with credit card and was out wit my new tags in under 2 mins! Pretty awesome day at the DMV.

Made appointment for CDL renewal. Showed up 10 mins prior to appointment time. checked in and my number was called 20 seconds later. Walked over to the specified window. paid the money, did the other required items and everything was completed 10 mins after I walked in.

I don’t understand the bad reviews on this DMV in Clovis!
I came here on Wednesday at 4:00 and there was no wait time for non appointment or appointment! The place was very clean and the service was extremely friendly!
I came here to get my permit and I am blind as a bat and they really tried to help me pass! But alas I couldn’t and now have to go to the optometrist :’(I even stayed overtime til 5:30 and they did not get angry!
P.S they have waiting times for every dmv office online (never wait in long lines again!)

This is the cleanest dmv I have ever been to…
However I have had the worst service of any dmv I have ever been to. The line wait time is consistently outrageous. I have waited over an hour and a half just to get a number on many occasions. The last time that I came to this dmv the person who helped me had a nervous breakdown and started crying to me about her manager and how this and that wasn’t going right. All I needed was to get a new license instead I had to console the worker while we waited for someone only slightly more competent to come and help me. I could probably drive to a dmv in los banos and back in the amount of time it takes to get through this line. Never come to this dmv. One star is generous

Iv been to some bad dmv’s in SoCal and this one is clean. But I think it’s funny that we praise this place for being clean it should be! The service is some what fast and there is a few nice people there. But as a whole there disrespectful to the citizens that pay there taxes to them!
One example a «lady» named ruby that does the morning line sorting out front. She’s sooo rude I don’t understand why she thinks she can act like this to us who pay her! An elderly man tried to ask a question and she stopped him mid sentence and said «I’m not answering questions!» WHAT!!! Are you kidding me. I can understands asking him to give her a second to get organized. What happen to respect? These are our grandmas and grandpas being treated like animals.
The people in line where all in a good mood and conversing it’s the workers crap attitude that makes people upset and unhappy.
SO REMEMBER REMINE THESE PEOPLE WHO THEY WORK FOR AND be polite about it ;)

Worst place for drivers testing, don’t go here for your test. Eric automatically failed me «dangerous maneuver» because I didn’t look over my left shoulder when I merged into the left only turn lane on Gettysburg to Armstrong.
Gettysburg is one lane each way with sporadic center turn lanes to small street/​drive ways. Before the Gettysburg & Armstrong intersection, the center turn lane stops, theres a break of at least 3 car length before the one lane separate into 3 lanes, left turn, straight & right turn.
Eric the tester claims the left only turn lane is a center turn lane & I should have looked over my left shoulder before merging.
I merged into the left lane when left turn only lane line appeared and not later.
I have never seen a center turn lane at major intersections w/​traffic light.

So it’s cleaner than the others, not that much people but still the wait is long because there are people who works there just walking around with nothing better to do while the rest of us waits forever. They were letting people cut infront of me just because their appointment was before me, excuse me. Show up earlier next time. Plus there is a rude ass dude working there giving me attitude. No need to be an ass when I was being polite asking a simple question, because being rude gets you a bad review.

What do you expect? It’s the DMV? A lot cleaner than the Fresno location on Sierra & Blackstone. Wait time with no appointment is 30 – 45 minutes.

I can’t see giving a DMV anything higher than 3 stars. The service will not be customer friendly, the lines will be long, however, if you HAVE to go into an office, this one will be the best one for your appointment. It is slightly, SLIGHTLY less ghetto, and it is clean.

I did wait on line because I didn’t make an appointment. And it did take a long time. But that is just the way it is in most DMV’s, right? (Except for Napa. Napa is the happiest DMV in the world with very little wait, wineries and outlet stores nearby.)
Service was provided with courtesy and professionalism. And the employees actually seemed pretty happy with their jobs– one big multicultural mix with Hispanics, Asians, African Americans, whites joking with one another– which translates big time to us who are at their mercy.
