This legendary eatery has long been a favorite for Kansas City Style BBQ, freshly ground burgers, ranch-size breakfasts and delicious pasta made with homemade sauces.
During the summer months, locals flock to the weekend BBQ’s held in the garden patio where along with the year-round fare Bob and Joanne, the Owners, work the outdoor grill serving big steaks, salmon and oysters. A good selection of local wines, micro-brews & domestic beers.
Bob the Owner’s Kansas City roots brought in a giant wood-fired smoker where they slowly cook all the BBQ faves like Brisket, Baby Back Ribs, Pulled Pork and Chicken all year long. We’re making our own bacon, pastrami, and andouille sausage all smoked in our newest wood smoker. Bob just got back in Jan. from a get together with some of the big names in BBQ where they did some whole hog cooking-a great catering idea!
History
Established in 2001.
This place has been here since the ‘30s. It was a Texaco gas station called «Top of the Hill Texaco». The «World Famous» was added in the 70s when the owner decided to start making hamburgers and put in a bar for sitting around. In 1989 it was bought by a family man (Ray) who put his Italian flavor into the place and added pasta to the name and menu (he also was responsible for clearing the bar of the dice players and made a more family atmosphere). 2001 brought a new couple into the picture only this time it was midwestern culture that leaked into the place as Bar-B-Que was added to the menu by the current owners BBQ Bob and Joanne. So now there is the smell of Hickory smoke coming from the smoker that dispenses the ribs instead of gasoline from the pumps.

Born in Kansas City Mo.(That’s the BBQ conection) went to Israel for 27 years and now resides in Cloverdale Ca.
Joanne was born and raised in London, UK. Also lived in Israel and now lives with BBQ in Cloverdale.
