Ted’s Garage is an American Classic Grill located in Clinton, IL. The original Ted’s Garage was destroyed in an Easter Sunday Fire in 2013. We are now back up and starting our next journey at our new location on 602 S. Center St. in Clinton, IL.

Our retro 50’s style diner is a fun restaurant for the whole family with choices from a kid’s menu to cocktails and homemade sundaes. Anyone can find a dish to enjoy at Ted’s Garage from great steaks to Italian cuisine or a dish with a flair of south of the border.

Ted’s Garage is located in the heart of Central Illinois in Clinton. We are less than an hour away from many Central Illinois cities, including Springfield, Champaign-​Urbana, Bloomington and Decatur.

Ted’s Garage prides itself on serving great food, giving personal service, and maintaining a clean dining room and kitchen, all in an atmosphere that is fun and exciting for all ages!

When the Easter Sunday fire destroyed Ted’s Garage Delfino Naxi knew he could not let such a widely enjoyed restaurant leave Clinton. The restaurant business is Delfino’s passion therefore he knew it was only right to arise from the ashes and re-​open Ted’s Garage. Delfino is finally living his dream of owning his own restaurant!

Yes the placed burned down, but it has been open in its new location for quite sometime and the food, atmosphere and service are superb. They have food theme nights and homemade soups or salads to accompany he entrée’ included. Their pasta and fried chicken are my favs!

I am giving this 5 stars based on every time I have been there except one. The food is great. The prices are good. The service is typically top notch… except for that one time that it took FOREVER to get our drinks, refills, food, bill, etc. I won’t downgrade you, Ted, for having one bad apple having hopefully only one bad day. When we have visitors from out of town, we always take them to Ted’s Garage as well. They have not yet been disappointed. Also, I just love to support local small business.

Food was good. Not super flavorful but defiantly a decent meal. My husband and I both had the tenderloin. Mine was a sandwich and his was the horseshoe. Fun atmosphere and the wait staff was great.

I was not happy with the food quality at Ted’s when I went with two friends on a recent Thursday night. It does not taste like it is freshly prepared. I was not sure if my tenderloin was spoiled or the onions were covering up a smell. The chicken salad was pulverized and was more like the consistency of hummus. The burrito wrap was heavy, dough, and soggy. We did get an offer of an exchange of the chicken salad. I did enjoy the sweet potato fries. If I ever dared go back I would ask what was fresh, not frozen, and if I did not like it, I would ask for a substitute. How hard is it to have fresh tasty food?

Ted’s food is filling and tasty! They serve the Best French Toast I’ve had in recent memory. The family who runs the restaurant is so generous and they give a free Thanksgiving dinner to the community. Prices are not an issue, food comes out really fast, waitstaff is cheerful, and the restaurant is absolutely Pristine clean. Their parking lot is always packed. Every time I have come here, I’m always pressed to find a place to park but it is worth being patient just to get in the door!

Very good food! I’ve never had a bad meal here. Staff is super friendly and very tentative. The food on the menu is listed as car parts or cars. They do serve alcohol and have a kids menu. Something for everyone!

Great food. Best in Clinton. Sometimes the service may be slow, but it is always friendly They aim to please. You can tell the food is good because it gets crowded in the parking lot. Try the Margarita drinks, when they are on special. Only a short walk from the IGA parking lot.

Had the ribs they were very good! Salad and baked potatoe also very good. I ordered the full slab. they give a very large portion. Took home almost ½.

First time here. Great food and service. The baby back ribs my wife had were excellent and Ranchero horseshoe was good.

We have eaten here several times and had a really good experience with a waitress (Donna), but this last time UGGGH!!! It wasn’t the food that was bad but the service was horrible… We had this waitress with a scarf in her hair (thinks her name was Dorthy) that was just horrible. We asked for Donna but was told she may not be back. This scarfed waitress flew around the restaurant like she was busy but we had to wait forever for her to take our order. Mind you there was only two other table besides us and they already had their food. Once we got our order taken she was up at counter complaining about a co-​worker loud enough that we could hear. (It was very vulgar) We saw our food up an ready but she just keep talking about her co-​worker all awhile our food was getting cold. This place needs a new waitress if this is all they have. Won’t be back till they do.
