Camino Real

Had a great lunch at Camino Real. The service was speedy, the prices were great and the food was yummy. My husband had the enchilada, burrito and tamale. I had the Chile releno, taco and guacamole salad. The food was served piping hot, just as we like it.
Why would you go to a fast food Mexican restaurant when you can go to Camino Real instead? That’s where you can have Mexican food quickly, reasonably priced and tasty! Enjoy at Camino Real!

Well again, I don’t generally do 5 stars but the service was awesome here. Place was authentic. Im on a mission to find El pastor
” the Marinated pork” but nobody out in this area has it. So Ive given up that quest. This place makes «killer margaritas» probably out of a machine but so what? Xtra booze in mine! They also had … And this is what makes 5 stars. Sincronizada. Nobody & I mean nobody has it! Only seen it on a menu once! And once ever! In FLA for a place I reviewed there. Sincronizada for those not familiar is: outer shell deep fried quickly, can be rolled or unrolled. The filling is Steak, chicken or fish mixed w/​a guacamole filling. God its awesome! Camino Real had it unrolled w/​a different cheese sauce. Place in FLA had it rolled w/​a different sauce but both were fabulous! Yes seating can be cramped, yes its in a strip mall next to Wallyworld but so what. This place is best in Clinton, Lincoln and surrounding areas, so being privately owned, get over there & enjoy urself! Prices good, food good & u know what? There were 4 little old ladies celebrating a bday when I was there talking about takin a ride on some guys bike just cause it was there!

By far the best Mexican Restaurant I’ve ever been to and I have been to a lot. The staff is friendly, the food is amazing and I’ve tried a lot of different things and have never been disappointed. The restaurant is clean and they have decent prices. I highly recommend you checking this place out. ;))

This is by far the best Mexican food in central Illinois. The salsa was great! And the queso was awesome as well!
I had the Sincronizada with steak. I read another review on Unilocal and it sounded good so I tried it. I was very happy with my choice. The steak was seasoned really well and cooked perfectly.
My husband had the burrito loco with chicken. He said it was really good.
Great service and overall a really good experience! Can’t wait to go back!

Went with the suggestion of others and had the sincronizadas with steak. I could only eat half after all the chips and guacamole I had as an appetizer. My husband had the same thing and we both agreed that this was one of the best Mexican dishes we have eaten. A must order when you go. We ate for under $ 20 and my husband had 2 import beers. Order a side of guacamole — you’ll love it with your sincronizadas.

Great food excellent service! We always have very friendly service and they are very accommodating for large groups. Delicious food and salsa and everyone should try the papa nachos at least once.

Muy delicious! I was pleasantly surprised at how very good the restaurant was! Food was very tasty, chips and salsa were amazing! So happy Clinton has such a wonderful option for Mexican food!

The food is very tasty and service is very good. The restaurant is a little small and cramped but do understand based on limited location options without major capital investment. I would highly recommend the fajitas. The portion was way more than I could handle. The meat was tender and the veggies cooked to perfection. There are also lunch specials with prices under $ 5. We have enjoyed them as well with the same satisfaction.
Highly recommend this place. Peak times sometimes result in a bit of a wait-​But it’s worth the wait. Nice folks that run this place. Trying very hard to provide dining options which we desperately need in Clinton.
