Specialties
Clinton Vineyards combines tradition and innovation to create high quality Estate-Bottled wines. No wonder that this 100-acre Dutchess County property is known as «The Jewel of Hudson Valley.» Our portfolio of award-winning premium wines includes Seyval single-grape vintages, sparkling and dessert wines. Our Cassis is the only domestic black currant wine to win gold medals at an international judging.
Clinton Vineyards’ mission is to emulate the tradition, quality and passion of small estate vineyards in France. Happily, wine drinkers around the globe tell us we’ve succeeded.
History
Established in 1976.
Clinton Vineyards was established in 1976 by Ben Feder, a Bronx-born artist and craftsman who fell in love with New York State’s Mid-Hudson Valley. Inspired by the beautiful wineries and vineyards of the French countryside, where he had spent time as a plein air painter after World War II, Feder recreated this sublime experience in Dutchess County. He modeled the 100-acre Clinton Vineyards in the tradition of European vineyard estates, and chose to specialize in producing white and sparkling wines, the latter made in the classic French méthode champenoise. His wife Phyllis joined him in 1988, bringing to the enterprise her creative eye as a graphic designer.
Four decades later, Clinton Vineyards enjoys renown far beyond the Mid-Hudson Valley. With pluck and passion, Clinton Vineyards has created a line of Estate-Bottled wines that have earned awards nationally and internationally.

Business Owner
Phyllis Feder, the owner of Clinton Vineyards, began her career as a singer before moving into the world of graphic arts. She worked for several years at the acclaimed Pushpin Studios in New York City, collaborating with graphics arts pioneers Milton Glaser and Seymour Chwast. She married Clinton Vineyards owner Ben Feder in 1988 and brought her talent and energy to the business. Her first task was to update the design of the wine bottle labels. Twenty-five years later, Phyllis continues to involve herself in every aspect of maintaining the vineyards and creating its award-winning portfolio of white wines, méthode champenoise sparkling wines and dessert wines.
