History

Established in 2005.

I discovered acupuncture while in Long Island University studying psychology. When I sustained a back injury, my friend (who was a student in an acupuncture school) suggested trying acupuncture at the student’s clinic. I was impressed with almost instant relief after just one acupuncture session and this experience steered me into pursuing a carrier in acupuncture. I graduated from the Tri-​State College of Acupuncture in 2001, earning MS in Acupuncture Science and later returned to college to study Chinese Herbs. After practicing in New York, I opened an acupuncture practice in Clifton, NJ in 2005. I closely followed the world renowned practitioners studying Japanese Style Acupuncture under Kiiko Matsumoto, aromatherapy and Tui-​Na Oriental Massage under Jeffrey Yuen, the Balance Method under Richard Tan and Esoteric Acupuncture under Dr. Sankey, Ph.D. Adding Esoteric Acupuncture into the practice, has greatly enhanced the treatment’s results in a shortest time period.

Marina Doktorman was born in Ukraine and immigrated to United States at the age of 15. She received her B.A. degree in Psychology from Long Island University, Brooklyn, NY in 1997.

Marina Doktorman, L. Ac, Dipl​.Ac., is a nationally board certified acupuncturist since 2001 and licensed in NY and NJ states. She first worked in NYC in a multi-​specialty clinic before establishing her private practice in 2005, in Clifton, NJ.

She was trained in Oriental Medicine (acupuncture, herbal medicine and complimentary modalities) at one of the leading institutions– Tri-​State College of Acupuncture in NYC.

Currently, Marina D. is the only practitioner in NJ to offer Esoteric Acupuncture after completing an intensive Energy Healing training Level I and II with Dr. Sankey, Ph.D. in Boulder, Colorado (April, 2014). Other certifications include Japanese Acupuncture (03÷16÷14 and 2÷28÷14)
