IM=X stands for Integrated Movement Xercize. It’s an elite fitness formula that marries the muscle toning and lengthening benefits of pilates with strength and cardio training to increase flexibility, endurance and muscle tone, while strengthening the spine and abdominal core.

Come for physical therapy in our center and take part in our back care program. Unique to IM=X Pilates Clifton is the use of our reformers (Xercizers) and formats as therapeutic exercise which may be billed to your health insurance.

History

Established in 2010.

Opening the IM=X Pilates Studio within the center has allowed Dr. Magwood to provide additional services to create and build upon optimal health. The center’s physical therapy department also incorporates IM=X formats into its therapeutic exercise program. Dr. Magwood strives to help people feel less pain, but more importantly to teach them to think, speak and behave in ways that are truly uplifting and transformational in their lives. As a result, people are less dependent on doctors and more confident in their ability to heal.

The mission of owner, Dr. Michael Magwood is to provide true family wellness solutions, first and foremost, to educate and adjust children and their families towards optimal health through natural chiropractic care.

I am a fairly long time client of Imx in Clifton and I just read a negative review of Emily’s class and I could not disagree more. Yes the class is demanding and yes she is going to correct you but that’s what your there for. I would not advise you to take her class if you are a newbie, because she’s a perfectionist or at least a Hardass about form and not hurting yourself because your doing it wrong. BTW no one complains about their mom more than me. Sometimes you just have to vent. I think if you are new take a one on one class with her you will be able to appreciate her and learn allot. If you are a Pilates person you will love her like I do.

I absolutely love everything about IMX Pilates! The instructors are fantastic (Bernadette, Vanessa & Dr Pozz are my favorite) and the classes are a great workout. Have been doing the classes for about a month and have noticed a huge change in my body. I can’t wait to see where it takes me!

Has been my addiction since I discovered it. Emily’s classes are challenging and the ones I look forward to the most. She is advanced certified and my body looks like nothing I’d imagined in terms of how sculpted it’s become. I always ask her to push me even more. My advice to those that can’t take the heat, stay out of the kitchen. Take a yoga class or a stroll somewhere for your workout. Emily is also cognizant of using the right technique so if you’re sensitive to being told you’re doing something wrong and might hurt your body, then yes you probably need to self reflect and be more open to constructive criticism. The only reason I’m not giving all five stars is the classes outside hers seem more catered toward and older crowd, sometimes other instructors are not punctual and the variety is just not there. More abs and mat classes would be beneficial for those who want to push their bodies vs coming to the same slow pace classes. Also seems like the other classes outside the Imx program take priority.

I am OBSESSED with IMX Pilates. I look forward to going every week — it’s my hour to relax and disconnect from the world. I had always wanted to try it. Lucky for me there was a Groupon available so a friend and I started going. I became hooked right from the first class. I started going once a week, then a couple of weeks later I went 2 times a week to now I’m going ¾ times a week. I would go every day if I didn’t have adult responsibilities like work and stuff. It’s such a great workout and I’ve seen a significant difference in my posture, my length and the toning in my legs and arms. I’ve taken classes with mostly all the instructors and they are all great! Never had a boring or repetitive class. I sweat from beginning to end. What I love most about it is that the classes are intimate in size (only 7 reformers max) and everyone is so nice. Jillian at the front desk is always so kind and accommodating. Thanks Dr. Magwood, Dr. Matt, Emily, Liz and Angela!

Dr. Magwood is an excellent instructor, and his medical training as a chiropractor gives him a particularly good eye for his students’ form.
Bernadette is very sweet and helpful, she’s also a great choice for classes.

Absolutley wonderful workout routine!!! IMX Pilates will have you sweating, but smiling at the end of the day when you see your results. :) I would definitely recommend!
