I’ve only been here once, so I can’t rate it 5 stars yet. However, the chicken(on a skewer) and Gypsy Salami were both very good, Indeed. In fact, two friends I shared the Gypsy with thought it was the best salami they had ever eaten. I’m partial to imported Genoa and Soppressata and am holding out my opinion on this(very good, yes) salami until I’ve had it again… and that will likely be soon! If you like anywhere near here, there’s absolutely no reason not to investigate it.

The parking lot is not for the faint of heart. I was totally fine with it. But I’m not faint of heart. Person who was with me is, and I had to drop off/pick up at the top of the hill. Because the parking lot is LITERALLY a pretty steep hill. Be prepared to use your hand break. Having said that, the venue is completely worth it. Consider the parking a free amusement park ride with purchase, and roll(pun intended) with it. The selection is FABULOUS. Deli meats, salads, dinner items, all very solid. You may or may not enjoy their recipies(I personally am not a fan of their beet marinated cabbage — but that’s because it’s unreasonable for me to compare it to Mom’s — hers is seriously stellar and nothing can come even close) but they are very well made, fresh, and whomever cooks for them definitely puts her heart into it(I have no doubt she’s a «she»). I enjoyed watching the staff communicate with some obvious regulars — they remember their favorites, and service is effortless. We got a bit of a grumpy server, but didn’t bother us, the service was that good. Everyone’s allowed to have a bad day, so long as it’s not offensive and doesn’t make you feel it’s your fault. Be mindful of expiration dates: there was one particular item I wanted which would soon expire and they put the price tag right smack dab on it(coincidence, I’m sure — albeit it coincidentally was placed in the same place on all the stock, whereas on non-expiring items was placed elsewhere). A suggestion that might work here for management: dedicate a sales rack for such items and discount(or pretend to discount — no one will know the difference) them. People would prefer to think they’re getting a bargain rather than that you’re trying to saddle them with stuff that’ll go bad in a month. Overall, however, it’s my new favorite ethnic food market and my go-to for deli. Good job!

Great Russian food store. Has all the necessities and some extras. Now I don’t have to drive to Brooklyn to get some Russian goodies.

It’s a Russian food store; well organized and clean. Their cold cuts and cheeses are always fresh; they carry a usual range of dairy products and bread. The women who work there are always nice and friendly.
