History
Established in 1985.
I started my private practice after being the Executive Director of Divorce Equity, and Education, Research and Advocacy Agency regarding Divorce issues in Ohio. Prior to that I was the Director of the Legal Department of the Domestic Relations Court in Cuyahoga County. Since 1985 I have focused my practice on family law and practice primarily in Lorain and Cuyahoga Counties. My approach to family law is colored by my 30 years experience as an attorney and my experience as a social worker helping children. I designed and implemented the Guardian ad Litem program for children in custody cases for both the Juvenile and Domestic Relations Courts in Cuyahoga and established the first Child Support Guidelines in Ohio back in 1980.
Meet the Business Owner
Susan W.
Business Owner
I began as a Social Worker with Cuyahoga County Children’s Services in the far distant past. I earned my Masters in Social Work from CWRU and became the Supervisor of Child Protective Services in Geauga County. While there, I pursued my law degree at Cleveland Marshall College of Law at Cleveland State University. I then worked part time as an advocate for children’s issues with the Federation for Community Planning. When I graduated from law school I worked for the Domestic Relations Court, organizing their Legal Department and establishing their Guardian ad Litem Program training lawyers to represent the interests of children caught up in custody disputes.
I left the court to establish Divorce Equity, Inc., a state-wide education, research and advocacy organization focused on divorce issues.
In 1985 I entered private practice and have been actively engaged in the practice of law since that time.
