Description

History

Established in 1928.

Turner’s Corner was built in 1928 and has gone through many owners over the ensuing decades. It is constructed entirely of local wood with a foundation of stacked stone. In renovating the café we worked hard to keep the original structure intact, as it is a historic building, and part of our area’s history, heritage and folklore. Except for some new paint and structural reinforcement, the building you are now sitting in is the original as built by the Turners back in the «Roaring Twenties» when Calvin Coolidge was president and Babe Ruth was swatting home runs.

Turner’s Corner was originally a gas station and later on became a country store. Somewhere along the way — and nobody is quite sure when — it became a café and has remained so for at least the last 25 years.
