History

Established in 2002.

Opened September 6, 2002, Pickwick & Frolic Restaurant and Club, «Home to Hilarities 4th Street Theatre» is Cleveland’s most unique dining and entertainment venue featuring;

A 185 seat Restaurant offering American rustic cuisine made from scratch; a 125 seat Frolic Cabaret hosting dinner and show packages, and a variety of live performances; Kevin’s Martini Bar and Taproom, an intimate Lounge featuring the latest and most innovative martinis in town, plus an all new Champagne Bar; and the 400 seat Hilarities 4th Street Theatre presenting the best in live, national, stand-​up comedy from across the country!

From there, Nick opened Hilarities Comedy Clubs beginning in 1985 and over that time, Hilarities has been a launching pad for notable acts including Jerry Seinfeld, Paul Reiser, Tim Allen, Steve Harvey, Drew Carey and countless others of both local and national notoriety.

Hilarities Comedy Clubs were a part of the Showtime Comedy Club Network and Nick and his team were humbled and proud to be directly responsible for bringing two one-​hour HBO specials to Cleveland.

In 2002, Nick took the biggest chance of his entire career, seeing the vision that would become E. 4th before anyone else was brave enough to give the dilapidated stretch of road a second glance.
