Montrose Mazda of Cleveland

This place is horrible. The salesman was pushy, I forget his name, but he just kept asking «how can i make you buy this this car today.» The assholes quoted me a price on a car that was 1,000 more than what they had the exact same car listed for on
. Their answer to this was that their systems don’t keep them updated on the latest prices. Assholes. I later found out that this is actually illegal. I should report them, but I’m lazy. They also didn’t tell me the car had been in an accident two years prior. Luckily I asked for a carfax and leaned it myself. I also had a bad experience at the Montrose Mazda in Kent. Screw this brand — all of its locations. Never buy from these crooks.

This review is not about buying a car at Montrose Mazda. It’s about trying to take advantage of their buy back program. We received a card in the mail saying that we could sell our 2007 Mazda 5 to them even if we didn’t use it as a trade. We’d actually planned to sell the car anyway so this sounded perfect for us. The dates and hours of the program were listed and we arrived there 2 days later during the listed times. I should mention it’s a 30 minute drive. The 1^st person we spoke to said that the used car manager wasn’t there that day and we’d have to come back another day. When i showed him the mailer and the dates and times he said he’d be right back to help us. He never returned. We asked another sales guy, Matt, who told us the same thing but spent some time talking with us about the car and entered all the info into a computer. We appreciated that. He then sent us on our way with a promise that he’d have the appraiser look at our info and give us a quote early the next afternoon so we’d know whether to come back with the car or not, depending on whether or not we wanted to accept the offer. When i didn’t hear back the next day I started calling and was just put into people’s voice mails who never called back. Finally at 5:30 Matt texted me the offer of $ 5000. We made an appt for me to return with the car in 2 days. My son and I arrived right on time-​Matt showed up 40 minutes late. Nobody knew where he was so they said. When we asked if someone else could help us since we weren’t buying a car they said no, he had to be the one. Finally he showed up full of apologies but with no valid reason for the delay. The rest of the day was crap. We ended up there for 2 ¼ hours just to sell back a car, received only $ 4000 instead of $ 5000 and walked out thinking we’d NEVER recommend this dealership to anyone.

in January I bought a 09 Mazda 6, from this dealer. The dealer had to do work to the car before I could take it. They dropped car off to me the next day. The car had a broken fog light cover when I got it. So I called the dealer back they told me they ordered the part to fix it. I took the car back to get it repaired, they glued fog light cover back in. Took it back manger asked if I would bring it back when the weather was better so he could look at it. Went back talked to the used Car Manager (Kyle Pisani), he told me he would have there painter put clear glue over it. Last time I checked glue doesn’t hold a fog light in. The manger was very rude arrogant person. Told me that’s how the other one was in there, and it was that or nothing. If the staff has to deal with him on a daily basis, I feel bad for them. He shouldn’t be treating anyone the way he treated me. Should be an fired employee of montrose mazda. Side note the sales people were very good people Rick Gamiere finance manger and Norm Sales did a great job.

Where should I even begin?
Let me start from the beginning… This was my first time purchasing a car ever so of course I took someone with me who has experience with car salesman. We found the Mazda 3 I wanted used on Autotrader and it was located at Montrose Mazda. I having just moved from Chicago needed a car ASAP to get around everywhere here in Cleveland and was desperate to get a decent car with low mileage and in decent condition. Turned out the Mazda 3 I found was perfect. Sat down with the car salesman Mike Fry. He smelled of cigarette smoke (typical car saleman right?) but was nice. Made the purchasing process and easy one since I had my boyfriend with me we made sure he didn’t try and pull any BS with extended warranties and other packages they try and sell you on used cars. That all went well.
THE IMPORTANT PART — –
What didn’t go well was the fact that we hadn’t officially moved to Ohio yet and I had to get my car registered in Ohio and all my plates, title, and such. We were still in Chicago for three more weeks after I purchased my car and left it in Ohio at our house. My boyfriend had called Mike a week before he was moving to Ohio to start work and let him a message on his voicemail that apparently was the landline at the dealership, asking when we should be expecting our TITLE in the mail seeing as two weeks had gone by and we still hadn’t received it. NO CALL BACK… I moved to Ohio a week later and my boyfriend had contacted Mike two more times and left voicemails and no call back, yet again. My boyfriend and I decided to call and ask for the manager because 4 weeks had gone by and we couldn’t get ahold of Mike Fry. My boyfriend tried speaking to a manager and the receptionist would not stop forwarding him to the main voicemail box for the whole dealership. The day before my temp tag was to expire I still didn’t have my title in hand to get my plates… I contacted Mike and spoke to him via his cell phone which when I asked him why he didn’t return our calls earlier he proceeded to ask what phone we called him at… First off– what does it matter if it was your cell or land line work phone if we left a voicemail why was our call NEVER returned? Then Mike said they still didn’t have it, I’m wondering if I still don’t have my memorandum of title how was I going to get to work the next day with expired temp plates? It wasn’t until the day after my plates expired, after having to rent a car to get to work, that Mike had gotten my memorandum of title. Something that should have been done weeks earlier. And this is the icing on the cake as I arrived five minutes before the BMV closed to get my plates, the woman who was so helpful at the Independence BMV pulled up in her system that no one had requested my memorandum of title until THAT DAY! I was livid… so the whole time seeing as Mike already had our money in his pocket after the purchase of my vehicle, he obviously wasn’t interested in providing good customer service. Instead he half assed his service (if you can even say that) and did the most important thing last minute. I tried speaking to management the day that I walked in to pick up my title and they refused to give me another temp tag so that I wouldn’t have to rush to the BMV on a week day after working to get my plates. They said legally they couldn’t and one man proceeded to ask, you know, you look like the girl from the Disney movie Brave? —Really? I will never again buy a car from Montrose autogroup, EVER! Horrible, HORRIBLE, HORRIBLE customer service! It’s no wonder these people are car salesmen, his lack of intelligence makes him highly unlikely of being able to work in any other industry.

I would say that I got bad service, but I actually got no service. I walked through the inside showroom. Nothing. Plus, they have about 4 cars. Where is your inventory? How are you even in business?

By far the most unprofessional and worse customer service I have ever experienced. They even sold me a car with 1 tire the wrong size causing me a ton of trouble down the road.
I left 4 messages and never got a call back. Their receptionists are even rude. THe management is a joke, they are slimy online car dealers and at the dealership its a false sense of reality because the facility is nice but they sell sH! t

Sale went fine but now my car is approaching the end of the warranty I continue to receive calls on my cell phone trying to sell me an extended warranty. I was promised that my personal information would not be sold, but that turned out to be a big fat lie. If you decide to buy a car from them don’t take their word on anything. I myself will look elsewhere in the future.

dealerships like to prey on those who they think are naïve. ask questions and if something doesn’t feel right, then it’s not.

Stereotypical car dealership, pushing me on a car that I had no interest in.

I bought a new car from Montrose Mazda at 9600 Brookpark Rd, Cleveland back in 2010. It was my second time purchasing a new car from a dealership and it was a horrible experience. The salesman was great and pleasant to work with and we agreed on a car and a price BUT their breakdown in customer service occurred when we entered their «Finance Department». OH the nightmare! The finance lady at the time tried to get me to sign documents with unfilled blank lines; she tried to offer me a «better» interest rate than the bank I am with even though it was the same bank; she would not accept payment from my bank for the car after I signed the purchasing document (after a few days, I would be forced to use their loan instead of my bank loan); and she refused to take calls and would not return my calls after I signed the purchasing document. I got so mad that I cleared out a savings account to pay off the car in full! This is my honest and factual experience. I really wished it was a good experience and I would just as well taken time out of my day to offer praise where praise is due. Unfortunately, it was a dramatic experience that I will never forget … like most dramatic experiences. Please keep in mind, this is only my experience and it might be a lot better for you and also it occurred years ago back in 2010.
Here are the details of what happened:
1. The Finance Director tried to get me to sign a Purchase Order without writing in the down payment even after I handed her the check (saying «just put it on a sticky note for my bank»!!! I responded by telling her «no way, my bank will not give me a loan for an amount thousands of dollars higher than I had asked for», so she printed out a correct Purchase Order);
2. promised to fax over the Purchase Document and Dealer Invoice the next day to my bank but failed to do so and would not reply to my phone calls or emails the entire day;
3. had me sign the Agreement to Arbitrate saying it was mandatory for all car buyers (beware, this removes your consumer rights);
4. tried to get me to sign a Conditional Delivery Agreement with blank spaces: «You agree that we have _​_​_​_​days to obtain financing from the Lender or to assign the Retail Installment Sale Contract»! I asked her why I should sign this agreement if I was not financing through them AND she left the «_​_​_​days» empty?!? She replied it was typically ten days but I told her I’ll sign it later when they receive full payment of the car. She was irritated by that time and let it go.
5. and she said she could get me a loan with lower interest rates through Fifth Third Bank… the same bank that I’m with! I was like, «NO WAY, I’m not going through an intermediary for a loan!».

I recently started looking into new vehicles. I had heard and read reviews regarding the new Mazda CX-​5, and this vehicle was on the top of my list.
There are no Mazda dealers in my area, so I decided to drive the 20 miles to Cleveland, to look at that vehicle.
Nobody acknowledged me, although the show room wasn’t overcrowded. Several salesmen were standing around drinking coffee, talking on their cell phones etc. After standing around and waiting for about 10 minutes I interrupted one of the sales guys phone conversation and asked for info material regarding the CX-​5. He kept talking on the phone, but handed me a brochure, then I walked out.
I walked around the lot and looked at a few vehicles, nobody showed up, just a young man, who was cleaning cars was around and answered a few questions.
I drove out there again a few days later, hoping I would get a chance to talk to a sales man, maybe getting a CX-​5 for a test drive.
It was actually worse than the first time. Nobody whatsoever even looked at me (I am a decent looking woman in her 50’s). I also walked around the lot again, hoping someone would show up, but nothing!
These guys don’t want to sell cars! Well, I did not purchase one either, took my hard earned money to Honda!
