Lifebanc saves and heals lives through organ and tissue donation for transplantation
History
Established in 1986.
There is an urgent need for more registered organ and tissue donors in Ohio and across the United States. Everyone can help save lives by registering as an organ, eye and tissue donor. One organ donor can save eight lives, while one tissue donor can enhance the lives of more than 50 people. Unfortunately, nearly 120,000 men, women and children nationwide are currently waiting for life-saving organ transplants. More than 1,700 of these individuals are in Northeast Ohio and over 3,400 are in Ohio.
Serving as Northeast Ohio’s only nonprofit organ and tissue recovery organization, Lifebanc began more than 25 years ago as one of the original seven independent organ procurement organizations in the United States.
