A good back to basics café that has a comfortable lounging space after escaping the nearby hustle and bustle of the Westside Market. It has a calming effect after surfing through the loud sensory experience next door. They do coffee and teas with a touch of care. Snacks are also readily available.

I do enjoy little places with atmosphere; this place has plenty. Located just off of W25th, this little spot features many coffee and tea drinks with a variety of tasty treats. Free parking is limited due to the area, but other than that, the prices are right and the treats a delight. If you’re looking for a place to hang and read, or a place for an after meal coffee to top things off, you won’t be «offie» with a visit to Koffie:)

The coffee and pastries were fine. My home base of Phoenix coffee offers much better selections as well as more friendly service. The service at Koffie Café is consistently rude and short. Especially the condescending woman who is in there most often.

Ohio City is one of my favorite Cleveland neighborhoods and this coffee house radiates with Ohio City charm and good coffee and a nice variety of pastries. Margaret is a Cleveland goodwill ambassador

Since moving back to OHC and taking up biking this place has become at least a twice weekly AM stop, and what’s more, sometimes I even stop in just to say hi to Kayla in the morning, have a cup of coffee and catch up on unimportant coffee talk things you know? What is to say? It’s local. I believe they get their coffee from Caruso’s out of Brecksville, so while it’s not neighborhood local, it’s still Ohio. It’s definitely worth a stop, especially if you’re staying at the Hostel, which is right down the street.

Food is good, price is fair and the place is nice, but I won’t come back. Staff is not friendly in general and from my perspective, they are specially unfriendly to foreigners.

I’ve been wanting to stop in for quite some time and I finally did around 10AM on a Thursday and was surprised to find a line to the door. I just got a cappuccino to go but I did notice and was surprised by the fact that there was a substantial food menu of sandwiches and salads so I might have to return to try those. Unfortunately the interior is slightly dingy, although nearly every seat was full. The inside could be pretty cute it seems, but the wood was worn and cushions faded. I’ve not tried the food, but just from an appearance, bakery and cappuccino perspective, this place could use an update to keep up with the competition. I wouldn’t choose this as a study spot for a long duration. My game plan — try a salad on the patio, which is on a charming street. Four dollars credit card minimum.

I have been to Koffie a few times in my life and always had ok experiences. The food is alright and the coffee is weak. I stopped by today around 11. They were busy but not overly so. The woman who made our sandwiches just set the bag behind me on the counter without saying a word or acknowledging my bf and I. Since when is that OK? I feel like Ohio city is getting more and more hipster-rude:(

I’ll begin my review with a few questions: Do you enjoy a great cup of coffee? Do you enjoy a classic coffeehouse atmosphere? Do you enjoy wonderful and friendly service? Oh you said, «Yes» to any of those questions than this is the pace for you. Oh you said, «No» to all of them. Well you’re a bad person, please don’t come here and ruin it for everyone else. Oh and, move to Pittsburgh.

Great little hangout to catch a quick coffee or snack, read a book, do some work, meet up with a friend in Ohio City. The only minus is they tend to serve everything in foam cups. But today, while waiting to catch a film at CIFF, I ordered a latte for here and I got it in a nice ceramic mug instead of those foam cups they normally use. Yay! And the latte was delicious. Way more enjoyable in the mug.

During Brite Winter fest they were not serving food but the staff went out of their way to make my 11 year old a meal. That was so fantastic of them and they were slammed! I really really appreciated that since it was hard for us to find something she would eat. Thank you so much!!!

I came in here on a business trip to Cleveland, so it was my first(and, after my experience, ONLY) time at Koffie Café. First: lame name, but whatever. Second: awkwardly small and awkwardly empty(I wonder why?), but not a deal-breaker. The deal-breaker was the barista. She was just plain rude. As a first time customer I asked a simple question about the menu, and she was very snippy. When I asked about the hot tea and how that process works(do I need to pick out the tea bag when ordering, or can I peruse them?), she was also extremely rude. Then, god forbid, I forgot to get something on my order – you would think she would be happy I was buying more food(plus, I had already given her a 25% tip on what was a very small, simple order), but she was really upset then and told me to read the signs in the restaurant more carefully next time. I told her I was a first time visitor and apologized, but she came back with another snippy remark. Overall, I felt not welcome at all. In fact, I felt that my very presence as a customer was personally bothering her. The experience sucked and I wished I could have taken back my 25% tip after how she treated me.

I almost feel like the Dingo Warrior, later to be known as the Ultimate Warrior, WWF superstar. When you walk in a huge curtain is draped up to stop the cold air from attacking the customers sitting inside. I don’t know if it was a ploy to get hardcore wrestling fans in here, or as I said to keep cold air out. I like to think it is for the wrestling fans, but I’m almost certain that is not the case. Very relaxed atmosphere and a perfect location, if you are out on the town on the weekend, maybe to the West Side Market, or wherever you are going, a good cup of joe is very near you. I think I may run in like a bat out of hell next time I go here and have the Warriors theme music blasting on my way to put in my order. If not next time, it is on the bucket list of things to do.

Super cool old school bar. Cute cute decorations. But it’s definitely a bit messy. The cold drinks are piled up in a small refrigerator below the bar. It looks a little like a cheap convenience store. But, don’t sweat the small stuff, right? The cookies and the scoes and coffee are delicious. It’s in a fantastic location, right next to the flying fig and across the street from Great Lakes Brewery. All places I’ve been dying to try. Coming here for a nice sip of coffee after going to the clinics and before dinner is just the perfect stress relief. Not my favorite cup of joe, but definitely the location and ambience make up for whatever the Koffie lacks.

Could someone please just buy this place and put it – and me! — out of its misery? Talk about phoning it in! The only thing Koffie Kaffe(I. Hate. That. Name!) has going for it is location and there are way too many other good coffee shops nearby to her away with that. This place could be amazing if it weren’t run like an afterthought. More specifically: the food is awful, the coffee is blah, the setup is so tired and worn and lacking function. I live just a few blocks away and I will always hit up Bonbon(I wouldn’t call a coffee shop, but they’re about 10x better than KK) or Rising Star(not my fave spot — it’s just too much of an effort for my style of coffee drinking) or even drive to Tremont(Loop!) or Detroit Shoreway(Gypsy Bean). Step it up or just sell to someone who will.

Ok, one update: Internet was great as long as there were just 3 of us in the shop — at around 4pm when other patrons showed up, the signal was pretty awful. However, I’m still planning on returning when I come back to the area!

The Barista has an English/Australian accent, music from an artist I’ve never heard of that I REALLY like! Right in the heart of Ohio City across from GLB… I am sorry to admit I haven’t been here sice it was the movie themed coffee house… Just another Cleveland Gem!!!

Rating Koffie Café solely on the atmosphere + hot chocolate! Atmosphere(5): LOVELOVELOVE! It’s like a peaceful place to relax your soul and mind in the middle of the busy Ohio City. The staff is chill and friendly and everyone there just seems to be friendly with each other! Hot Chocolate(4): Can’t complain. It was good! At Starbucks, I always need them to add an extra pump of chocolate because they don’t make it chocolate-y enough but that’s not a problem I have a Koffie Café.

OK, are you serious? Can you really get a super-fresh, awesome salad here for $ 5? You’re telling me you get fresh baby spinach, greens, walnuts, dried cranberries and feta? And I can control what’s going on as dressing with their trusty balsamic vingar and olive oil containers? I’m totally down with that – in fact, I’ll be returning for more quick, easy, healthy meals with a side of coffee often. That salad isn’t special, its just smart and tasty. And thank goodness there’s a place I can pick up and easy, fresh and tasty salad on the go for super cheap. Yay for great neighborhood coffee shops… and their killer iced coffee!
