Attorney Jaime P. Serrat has over 30 years of trial experience in federal and state court, including misdemeanors and felonies. Mr. Serrat has been attorney of record in over 400 Federal Court Cases in the Northern District of Ohio. Mr. Serrat has successfully handled hundreds of major criminal and civil cases and has spent his entire legal career in the Northeast Ohio court system.

History

Established in 1986.

Mr. Serrat began his career at the Cuyahoga County Public Defender’s Office where he worked for five years. Since then, he has been successful in his own private practice for the last 25 years. During Mr. Serrat’s practice of law, he has been admitted to practice in:

–The State of Ohio

–The Federal Court of the Northern District of Ohio

–The 6^th Circuit Court of Appeals

–The 3^rd Circuit Court of Appeals

–The United States Supreme Court

–The State of North Carolina (currently inactive)

Mr. Serrat is a life member 8^th district judicial conference, an adjunct Professor at Cleveland-​Marshall College of Law, the Past President of Ohio Hispanic Bar Association, current member of the Ohio Hispanic Bar Association, Member of the National Hispanic Bar Association, Member of the Cleveland Metropolitan Bar Association, and Member of the Cuyahoga County Criminal Defense Association.

Attorney Jaime P. Serrat was born and raised in Tarragona, Spain. He moved to the United States with his brothers and sisters when he was fifteen years old. After completing high school in the Cleveland area, he attended Mount Union College and received a BA in Political Science on June 11, 1978. At Mount Union College, Mr. Serrat was a member of the Phi Gamma Mu National Honor Society and a member of the varsity men’s soccer team.

Attorney Serrat obtained his Juris Doctorate from Cleveland-​Marshall College of Law on December 17, 1982. Mr. Serrat was admitted to practice in the Federal Court for the Northern District of Ohio on April 21, 1986. He was also admitted to practice in the Supreme Court of Ohio on May 9, 1983 and the United States Court of Appeals for the Sixth Circuit on July 18, 1994.
