Professional and quick. Very good at catering to cowards. Would recommend to friends and family.

This place is a joke. Like other reviewers, they’ve cancelled on me and had to reschedule numerous appointments I’ve had. Recent example, at their new office, I had two appointments scheduled for crown work. I showed up only to find they were closed that day! No one was there?! Called the other office and they couldn’t understand why my 2 appointments were scheduled for days that they were closed. Another appointment was cancelled because someone never showed up. They overbook constantly and do shoddy work. They put two crowns on and both fell off within 6 months, most recently last week. I don’t believe the good reviews of this place. They are all about making money.

Dr. Hylan and his assistant Jenny made my trip here stressful and pleasant, I recommend them to any of my friends and family who needs a good dentist …

Its not too often I review a dentist. Let’s be real, NO one likes the dentist. Dr. Hylan and his staff are phenomenal though. They made me feel so comfortable in a time of fear of a procedure new to me. They explained everything to me. I understood all that would happen (no surprises). They were gentle and kind. They know what they’re doing and they do it so well!!! If you need an emergency appointment, you get one. They are so accommodating. Love them! Highly recommend.

I like the dentists here but thats about it unfortunately. I have had many problems with scheduling. I came in once for a cleaning and waited over an hour only to be told they overbooked or some excuse and had to reschedule me. Kind of an inconvenience when you take a day off work to do something. They are always behind I would say usually an hour. Today I again had the day off work had a 1030 appt scheduled for cleaning AND fillings because I have anxiety and like to get as much dones as possible. I waited until 1130 to be brought back. Then another scheduling snafu they didnt have me down for fillings so I wait another hour… then someone comes in and says she doesnt know how long it will be they are behind blah blah blah. Long story short I was there 3 hours only got a cleaning and left angry with my records I will not be returning!

I can’t remember the last time i had an appointment that wasn’t canceled and rescheduled because they were «over booked» also i went in for bottom cavities filled and ended up with a burning numb tongue for two weeks the dentist hit my nerve! It’s close and convenient that’s the only thing that keeps me coming back.

I would give this place zero stars if I could. Talk about horrible customer service. Not to mention extreme pain when I was in there and now back at home, I hate the dentist but trusted this place. I will never go back!

I was very impressed by the way they were able to replace my crown right that day! Molded and fitted me. I was in and out with a new crown — no having to order it and come back again! They are always pleasant and state of the art. I have been to many dentists over the years and was not sure when I pulled up the the «house» but once inside that thought quickly changed. I actually don’t mind going to the dentist!

This place is AWFUL!!! i waited in the waiting room (which wreaked like smoke because everyone behind the front desk was taking smoke breaks every 5 minutes) for over an hour. They finally call me back and i wait in that room for 40 minutes. then someone finally comes in, and says, i don’t know if you know but we can’t do your appointment today because we just don’t have the time. i walked out and will NEVER go back! STAY AWAY!!!

Hylan dental care is a place above any other. They cater to cowards and ALL of the staff is beyond friendly! It is not just a dental office. They take the time and care to get to know you and your family. Sara gave me a teeth cleaning. She was friendly gentle and made all of my fears go away. Dr. Hylan has done a lot of cosmetic work on me as well. He was kind and I would never go to another dentist! I would HIGHLY recommend this dental office to anyone!

Had a really great experience here initially but today I was called and had my appointment cancelled for the second time in 4 months. First time was «bad weather» and the kicker is this time «the computers will be down». Some of us work, have kids and cant be changed around because of some b.s. excuse. Guess Ill have to start all over and find another dentist I like.

I can’t rate this dentist as a dentist because I never got to see him because his staff let me sit in his waiting room for an hour and fifteen minutes. I know the time I waited because at an hour and fifteen minutes I got up to have a little discussion with his office manager, who could do nothing other than say she was sorry, and I left.
Mind you this was my first (and last) visit to this dentist.
I can’t believe that if this is the service you get when they are trying to impress you as a first time patient, what it would become after you’ve become a regular patient.
I honestly can’t trust a dentist who has no compassion for his patients in allowing his staff to treat his patients in this manner. My thoughts are, if he doesn’t treat me as if he cares about me in all manner (making me wait for over an hour) then he isn’t going to treat me with any care in his dental chair.
I’m just glad I found this out before I started working with this doctor for a while.
It cost me my entire day and I now have to start the search process all over, but at least I know how that this dentist and his staff looks at their patients as dollar signs and nothing else. Fit in as many patients as you can and the hell with any customer service or concern. I felt like cattle sitting in that waiting room and would probably still be sitting there if I were to tolerate it and allow him to treat me in this manner, like all the others sitting there with me.

I’m a huge dental phobic person and they’ve done great with me. They really do cater to cowards! They have a great schedule and you don’t have to wait for months in order to get a Saturday appointment. I highly recommend!!!

Just out of principle I can’t give this place 5 stars. C’mon, they’re a dentist, right? Who the hell likes going to the dentist so much that they would rate them 5 stars? What does a 5 star dentist even look like? Do they serve glasses of champagne while you wait, soothed by the sounds of Enya and Christopher Cross? Do they offer complimentary shiatsu massages? I’m not sure, let’s just say I haven’t seen it yet.
After coming back home to Cleveland I needed a dentist. I had a couple of requirements, they had to be close to home and they had to be Unilocaled. I found both in Hylan Dental Care.
Located on the corner of W 117^th St and Governors Ave, this isn’t your typical strip-​malled dentist’s office. From the looks of things they have retrofitted an entire house as their office and I think it’s pretty damn cool. Every dentist I’ve ever been to in my life has the same office, neutral colors, old copies of Reader’s Digest and Highlights (yeah, Gufus and Gallant), weird sterile smell, fluorescent tube lights humming away and a receptionist who always appears to be annoyed. Hylan Dental feels a bit like you’re over at your cousin’s mom’s house, homey and clean in a good way.
My wife and I scheduled our appointments for the same day, around 5:30pm on a Thursday. Cleaning and exam, first-​time patient stuff. After I called to make the appointments they emailed me the new-​patient forms (nice touch) so we had them all filled out before we got there. Another thing, this place is hopping crowded. This says something, doesn’t it? And they appear to be expanding adding more exam rooms, remodeling the front waiting area and reception, the works. I hardly think a dental practice that isn’t doing well would go through such lengths. The actual exam rooms are down a little flight of stairs and arranged in a strange catacomb-​like labyrinth. They’re all boxed off from each other and separated and it’s funny to hear the dentists and hygienists playing Marco Polo to try and find each other.
Speaking of the waiting room, it’s pretty posh. More like grandma’s living room than a dentists waiting room, it’s got an aquarium in the corner, a love seat by the window, green apples in a bowl and a giant picture of some couple I can only assume is somehow related to the practice (dentist’s son maybe? and he has his hand on her ass, it’s funny). I almost expected to see a curio cabinet with glass animals in it.
The receptionist is very friendly. The hygienist was gentle and thorough even managing to work around my crazy beard without too much trouble. From what I saw of the actual dentist (he was in and out of my mouth faster than bad milk) he seemed nice enough. He asked me to open, poked around for a few seconds, told me I was brushing too hard, and took off. I suppose between the x-​rays and the dental prodding they decided I was cavity free. Whoohoo!
As far as dentists go, Hylan is great. Judging from their waiting room they’re popular, too. If you’re in the market for a new dentist or just want to replace your current guy because he’s really old, smells like mothballs and coffee breath and has a receptionist that’s constantly sitting on tacks you should do yourself a favor and give them a call.

The best experience I have ever had a dentistry ever.
I have had a long history of dental problems, so much so that in my adulthood I had become so distant form the dentist I was terrified to ever go back…
I broke a tooth, completely in-​half. Probably the most painful experience of my life, I had to go to the dentist. like ASAP!
I was never going to go back to ‘my dentist’…so I began the hut for a new, and there is was, at the end of my street… a huge banner…‘We Cater to Cowards.” I instantly thought that I had found my perfect match… and I had!
Everyone on staff at Hylan Dental is amazing! I have never felt more comfortable or at home in my life, let alone at the ever-​feared dentist… I **gasp** look forward to seeing everyone every time I go in! Heather, Susan, Becky and Dr. Hornaick and Dr. Hylan have become practically family to me, they are so pleasant and patient! I wish every experience in my life was on par with Hylan!
On my first visit I was so scared that I was shaking… so Dr. Hylan called in one of his assistances… just to put their hands on my shoulders to clam me down! Unbelievable, i have never felt such warmth in any health care establishment, I really do believe that they care you as a patient and as a human-​being
No only is there service phenomenal but their actual dental work is outstanding! They have completely transformed my smile and have given me back my confidence! The dentistry is warm and inviting and the lobby is claiming, the individual procedure rooms are clean, organized and welcoming
I have had several major dental procedures preformed there, everything has always gone smooth, and they have always explained everything sooo clearly that I could retell it to anyone who asked. They have helped me sort my insurance claims and have offered me payment plans so that the dental work I need was obtainable. and I will never go to any other dentistry ever in my life…
