I like this gallery/shop, even though I have only been inside twice. I never really come to this part of Tremont JUST to go to Geode; I’m either getting chocolate at Lilly’s, getting coffee at Lucky’s, or picking up my FreshFork package next door. The first time I dropped in was in during an Art Walk one Friday, and was pleasantly surprised. It didn’t really seem like a gallery, although there was definitely artwork; it had a more store-like quality, with little gifts, knick-knacks, jewelry, clothes, etc. spaced nicely. It wasn’t overwhelming or stuffy the way that Banyan Tree can sometimes be. I saw a bunch of really cool things that I didn’t exactly want to buy that minute, BUT have had this one item on my mind ever since(a pair of little stoppers with candle holders on top that you put on top of a wine bottle or other type of bottle or jar). I even went to Banyan Tree because I thought that’s where I’d seen them. But then I remembered that little gem was from geode. So I went back Saturday and picked them up, and felt happy. There are these antique necklaces and charm bracelets and lockets too that are really cool, and I wish I could get one. To be honest, I haven’t paid much attention to the artwork, because between my tunnel-vision visit to get the bottle tops, and the wine they served during the Art Walk… I was distracted. :)
