Chief’s Auto Wash

Decided to try Chiefs even though Rainforest is right across the street (always closed or lune is out to mayfield). Friendly service, the men pre-​scrub your car before entering even if it’s cold outside. My car is clean and shiny. Decent price for everything you get. Yes, the building is just a bit dirty but it’s been around for Decades.

Been going here for years. Could drag the pail out at home and do it myself, but the days are rare that are not too hot or too cold and I could find something better to do… besides, I think their process saves water, and it is so good to get the underside done especially in winter. I like that they only do the exterior so there aren’t people climbing all over my seats, and making me feel I have to remove valuables before going. I only have to put the window down a bit for them to be able to get a coupon so that my protective pup can go through the wash with me if we’re out and about.

I go here because it’s close to my home and I purchased a book of washes. The wash is nothing spectacular and it’s not a place I would regularly return to. I had an incident where my part of the car wash stopped and the part behind me continued to run, so the car behind me hit my bumper. It left a couple of small indentations/​scratches. The owner was kind of rude trying to get it resolved and it really failed my expectations. Also the staff are overly flirtatious — handing out their numbers with no encouragement whatsoever — but even not responding to this has gotten me free car washes, so whatever.

They sprayed some stuff all over my car. It left a film all over the car. THEN the brotha tells me he can’t take credit card and do I have cash. No, I don’t. «sorry for the inconvenience».
Really? Didn’t even wash the crap they sprayed on my car.
Don’t bother with this place people. Looks dirty and poor service. Lacking in common sense.

Simple easy and cheap. I felt like my car was more running better after all the salt and snow from the winter came off.

I usually wash my own car or have it done at an all hand carwash place. However if time is not permitting, this is a great quick and clean ride-​through carwash. There are attendants onsite that spray and hose down your wheels prior to entering the wash. Although it’s advertised as a «touchless» carwash, it does have hanging mops that slowly move over your car. These mops are less harmful than the traditional carwashes that have brushes, but «touchless» is a bit misrepresented. Anyhow, at $ 10 a wash it’s not a bad deal considering it comes with an undercarriage wash. You can buy a book of 5 washes for $ 35 as well. Beware that your car will be driven by rails at the carwash, so if you have a low car (like I do) or with low tires, your wheels or side skirts may get some marks from the rails. Also be sure to bring a towel along to wipe away the excess water around your side mirrors and wheels.

Bring a towel to wipe down the doors and mirrors so they don’t dribble all over your car on your way out. Guys working can also be a bit flirty and miss out on wiping down your windows… not always appreciated but I buy the book of washes all the time so it has yet to detour me. Enjoy the dancing rags!

These are good people! Car wash was quick and cheap. If I had a printer I could have printed out a coupon (check out the website) but $ 10 is a steal.
I liked that there were plenty of vacuum stations available so that there wasn’t an impatient line of people as I vacuumed and cleaned the inside of my car for almost an hour. Wow, I let it get pretty bad.
Also the guy who took my $ at the start paid me a nice compliment. Aw. Maybe I ought to have tipped him…

I’ve been going to Chief’s Auto Wash for as long as I’ve lived on the East Side of Cleveland — 7+ years. There is not a better car wash value anywhere I’ve ever been.
This is a well-​staffed ride-​through car wash in South Euclid.
You can get your car washed for as cheaply as $ 5 (maybe even cheaper if you buy the club card). It costs $ 7 if you are willing to buy a 5-​wash book. It’s been the same price for the wash book for the past 7 years, even though the individual price has crept up to $ 10.
But, even at $ 10, it’s still the best deal anywhere.
When you pull in, there is at least one person (almost always two) spraying any bad areas of your car (bugs, etc) with solution, and scrubbing difficult-​for-​the-​auto-​wash-​to-​reach areas with continuously washed scrub brushers. When you come out on the other side, your car has been thoroughly washed, clear-​coat-​protected, and your tires even armor-​alled. Like any auto car wash, the very worst stuck-​on bugs will remain at the end, but again, it’s better than anything other than using bug and tar remover and a scrub brush.
Behind the car wash, they have several vacuums and coin operated detailing products like windex-​soaked towels, armor-​all soaked towels, etc. The facility is always clean and the staff always friendly.
Also, despite their clear warnings limiting their liability on loose items being ripped off your car, they go above and beyond. I had just bought a new Honda Pilot and the car wash ripped off the rear window wiper that I forgot was there. The owner was there when I realized it, and he shut down the whole car wash while a staff member went in to find it. When they found it, it was damaged, and he gave me his business card and told me to send him the bill and he’d pay for it.
I didn’t take him up on it because he had no obligation to pay for it, and because this car wash has saved me hundreds of dollars over the years in car washing costs. It was a $ 20 part at Honda.
This is one of those «seems too good to be true» places, but it isn’t. It’s cheap and effective, and it’s run by people who care about how clean your car ends up.
Oh one other story… once during winter, I had a lot of residual ice on my roof. They got most of it off, asked that next time I try to chip it away to get a better wash, but offered to have me ride through twice for the price of one wash to get a cleaner car. That’s just the way they work.
