History

Established in 2006.

The Better Bark began as a pet-​sitting business in 2006. We then opened a physical grooming and boarding location in Central, SC. After the building was sold, we groomed as a «floating» groomer in several different locations. Now we are here to stay in Clemson, SC. Come by and see us!

Hi Dog Lovers! My name is Meredith Proshuto-​Owens. I am the owner and main groomer at The Better Bark. You might remember me from when The Better Bark was located in Central or from other local grooming salons I have helped. I have over 15 years in the dog industry. Ten years of those have been in grooming. I am currently working towards my Master Groomer License which is the highest accolade for a groomer. I specialize in «hard to handle» dogs and dogs with «special» needs. I also love creative grooming. Want a Tiger Paw on your dog for the next Clemson game? I can do it! Want your dog to have green toe nails to match their polka dot bows? I’m your girl.

I do my absolute best work on each and every dog, taking the time and consideration to tailor my work towards your dogs needs. My shop is ALWAYS sanitary and safe. I strive to make each client happy and will work with you to create your dogs custom grooming schedule and services based on all factors in grooming.
