With full disclosure I’m vegetarian so likely missing a lot but have loved what I’ve had! First of all, it’s quirky and no frills — he’s open when he want to be — but amazing food. The falafel is the best I’ve had and I’ve been to 30 countries. The Foule dip is heaven — as is the koshary. Desserts are amazing — I just ask for what’s made fresh… inexpensive — the best Mediterranean food in a dense Mediterranean area — nowhere competes with the flavor! Hole in the wall but heck, all about the food. The owner is dynamic — happy to talk to you — lucky to have this place in a community dominated by Applebee’s !

The owner was friendly. They give you a lot of food. However the meat was all very tough/over cooked.

If you’re looking for authentic atmosphere and right flavors /ingredients, this place does it right. Dont be fooled by the skimp décor, take a seat and give it a shot; your taste buds wont be disappointed.

Came here on the good reviews on Unilocal, and very glad that we did! The schawerma and the kabob platter were excellent. The lamb chop on the kabob plattet was so amazingly tender; all was amazingly flavorful. We shared a kounafah for dessert: absolutely amazing, and definitely enough for 2. If only we didn’t live so far away, we’d be back soon!

Friendly owner, great food, excellent prices. I had the Kabab Platter. Portions were huge and the food was clean, healthy, and delicious! Lamb was plentiful, salad, rice, and pita were all really good. I’ll make this a frequent stop for sure.

After I worked a crazy long day, hubs was on dinner duty. He consulted Unilocal and found Sphinx pretty close to his place of work. We are big on ethnic/Middle Eastern food but surprisingly have never had Egyptian. Well Sphinx popped our Egyptian cherry and it was fantastic!!! We had the hawawshi(YUM!!!) and shwarma platter. While we’ve had shwarma before, these flavors were definitely unique. My only complaint was that the lamb was quite fatty, which isn’t typical for lamb. The tabouli was awesome — some of the best I’ve ever had. Everything was delicious and my husband said the owner was super nice. Given what he said about the décor(tvs, green lighting, blaring music, and tvs with mtv), I don’t know if we would choose to dine in. But we will definitely get takeout again soon! Highly recommend.

We were looking for a place to eat and found it randomly on Unilocal.I was pleasantly surprised by the whole thing. The kebab platter was cooked to perfection. It was served with tahini sauce, pita bread, a salad and yellow rice. Lamb chops were fantastic. I also got some hot tea with mint. The owner took the time to come and chat with us. Very friendly and welcoming. Definitely felt at home here. The best part? It’s open late. Found my new late night spot.

Sphinx Café makes real authentic Egyptian food. It is the real deal if you want falafel, kofta kebob then you must check this place out. The owner takes real pride in his cooking. And he just wants to see the smiles on your face enjoying his homemade cuisine.

Great! Sweet & professional. Very talented chefs. Authentic atmosphere and open late. This is the best falafel I’ve had in florida. Crunchy without being overcooked, but not soft and gross. Fresh ingredients, like you made it yourself. Huge but manageable portion. I will be back every week!

Great food. Had the shawerma sandwich. Very generous portion with some pickled veggies. French fries were great. Double apple hookah was wonderful. Very clean, great prices, and great service.
