History

Established in 1979.

QCI Mold Removal and Testing’s owner, Stephen Delgado, has been performing water damage restoration, mold testing, mold removal, building inspections, home inspections, and remodeling since 1979. Stephen was first licensed by the State of Florida as a Division 1 General Contractor in 1979. Stephen was then certified to perform water damage restoration and fire and smoke damage restoration by the IICRC. He also earned his IAQA certification to perform indoor air quality assessment. Times have changed, and now the best credential to hold is a Florida license. In 2011, Florida law required all persons performing mold remediations and mold assessments to become licensed. Stephen became licensed as a Mold Remediator and a Mold Assessor in 2011. He also became a Florida-​licensed Home Inspector in 2011. In 2014, Susan Hadaway joined Stephen Delgado as partner in QCI Mold Inspections, Home Inspections and Remediations LLC, an LLC who operates as DBA QCI Mold Removal and Testing.

Stephen Delgado followed his family into the construction industry when, as a boy, he worked with his Uncle on large scale water damage, weather damage, and construction projects. In 1979, Stephen earned his Division 1, Class A General Contractor license. At that time, he started his own career and became certified by both the IICRC and IAQA as a water damage specialist, fire damage specialist, smoke damage specialist, and indoor air quality specialist. Most of Stephen’s career has been spent as an owner/​manager of his own company. Stephen currently carries four Florida licenses: Division 1 General Contractor, Mold Remediator, Mold Assessor, and Home Inspector. Stephen is well respected by the Florida legal community and serves as an Expert Witness to many Florida attorneys and their clients. Stephen doesn’t plan to retire — just slow down — and bide his time between Tampa Bay and Asheville, NC.
