Got my first tattoo here 4 yrs ago with my best friend and just recently got my second tattoo here with 2 other friends.
This place has great customer service. The tattoo artists and staff create a fun and comfortable environment leaving you with nothing but a great experience and an awesome tattoo!

Great place, had nose pierced. Quick and easy. Super nice and clean as a whistle inside.

My wife and I got tattoos here while on vacation. Ari and Jeremy both do amazing work! We will definitely go here again for any future tattoos.

I’m probably older than the average new piercee… but I always thought little nose studs were really cute. So… I called a young woman I used to work with who had some tattoos and piercings and asked her where I should go. She immediately said Monique’s and told me that Billy is great. I called and talked to Billy and explained my situation and he said to come on down. I was very impressed with the cleanliness and neatness of the reception area when I walked in. Billy couldn’t have been any friendlier. After I completed my paperwork, he took me back to the piercing room and once again, I was impressed with the cleanliness. Billy was very patient and explained what was going to happen. Of course it did hurt. but then it was over. He explained the aftercare to me and gave me a sheet of instructions. I would highly recommend Monique’s and Billy if you are considering a piercing.

This parlor is extremely clean and beautiful. The owner and employees are so friendly and professional. THE WORK is phenomenal! The artist kept it real with me, is very talented (he drew my tattoo freehand), and he was a pleasure to work with. He double and triple checked, made sure we ultimately had what we wanted, and then checked again! He made my first tattoo experience a great one! My tatt is gorgeous!

Monique’s is awesome, Billy and Kevin were very friendly, warm hearted, and funny they made us feel at home. After receiving our tattoos, after we paid and left Billy sent us an email right away:

I’ve spent the last 2 years admiring every septum piercing that’s crossed my path, but always wussed out of getting it done myself. Last Saturday I finally decided to bite the bullet and do this thing! Billy was great and put me right at ease. That’s saying a lot since I have crazy anxiety! I was in and out in about 10 minutes. Maybe less. The place was spotless, Billy explained everything to me as he did it, and it didn’t hurt even a little. Everyone there was kind and helpful. It wasn’t like other tattoo shops where they make you feel like you’re in the wrong place. It was a great experience all around.

After a horrible experience at another shop, I came in to have my nose pierced. Billy was extremely accommodating, coming in on his day off, AND giving me a deal. I was super nervous, but his friendly demeanor quickly turned that around. He was very informative about the process and the aftercare, and pierced me very quick with minimal pain. I would recommend Billy to anyone!

Went in the talk to someone about fixing my tattoo. The artist I talked to was rude and judged the style of tattoos I like and have on my body. I expected more for a 5 star rated tattoo shop. Will not be returning.

I stopped in at Monique’s after reading the reviews for local tattoo shops. I was pleasantly surprised that the reviews matched perfectly with my overall first impression. I can honestly say that I feel at home everytime I walk into Monique’s. I can also say that Billy and the rest of the staff are extremely welcoming.
My tattoo was done by Thomas, and it was executed perfectly. I had a piece that required lot of precise line work. I sat down and consulted with Thomas and he made suggestions that would make it look even better. I can admit I am happy I listened to Thomas, not only did it come out looking great but it by far exceeded my expectations.
Since my initial visit nine month ago, I have had four more tattoos done by Thomas. In addition my wife has had four pieces done by him as well. In speaking with other customers while waiting they also expressed there pleasurable experience and most I spoke with were repeat clients.
I would highly recommend this shop without hesitation. Hands down one of the best in the bay aerea.

I have yet to get a tattoo here, I got most of mine done out in LA and have been searching for an awesome place locally to pick up where I left off, and I think Monique’s is it!
I went to Billy a couple of weeks ago for a nose ring, and he was incredible. So many shops I’ve been to have been demeaning, cold, and stand-​off-​ish, but he was so genuinely cool, glad to have me there, and he helped me pick out exactly what I wanted, and did a fantastic job on the piercing!
Plus, many other shops told me they could only pierce with steel jewelry, while I wanted something clear or flesh colored to stay hidden, and he had a clear piece that did the trick!
Although I have done this about a couple dozen times now, I still get freaked just before I get anything done. He was so smooth and calming, and let me change the positioning several times so I was fully happy. As for the piercing itself, of course it hurt, but he really made it quick, and it’s healing beautifully.
He custom makes gold jewelry fit to your body, so I’m looking forward to going back for that soon, once my nose is fully healed, and getting a new tattoo there as well!

What a hidden gem! It’s nothing to look at from the outside but inside its a beautiful, bright, clean space. I went in to scope it out and ask a few questions and I felt so comfortable I went ahead and got what I wanted done! They have a great selection of body jewelry and Billy was very helpful and super nice. There was a group getting tattooed and they seemed like they were having a great experience. Check it out!

I have been going to Moniques since they opened in 1994, and I have known Billy since 1988. The shop is super clean and Billy is super nice! I have gotten both tattoos and piercings done here and regularly get new body jewelry. Thom and Chris are very talented tattoo artists, and I am very happy with the tatts I got from them. Billy did my piercings and is SO clean when changing out my jewelry. When I was out of town and went to 3 other shops, they were not clean like Moniques, and the staff was not as knowledgeable or as kind as you will find at Moniques. I always feel welcome here and feel good knowing I am getting the best top-​notch quality care and jewelry.

I’ve lived in Clearwater for 7 years drive by Moniques every day got gift certificate for tattoo. went in they were so pleasant friendly and happy to help me my tattoo turned out fabulous. I was very happy… I’ve been wanting to get a dermal piercing for a while now a co worker wanted one as well we went to Moniques once again they did a fabulous job we are both happy .made me feel comfortable and informative about after care. I LOVE THIS PLACE… I RECOMMEND TO EVERYONE…

If you want a good tattoo or piercing go here. Jason is one of the best kept secrets in this town and Billy might be the nicest guy in piercing as well as one of the best.

I went to the Monique’s because I am a fan of Jason Minauro a tattooer at the shop. Found a great deal on line for a hotel and made the trip.
I made an appt by calling the shop. When I arrived everyone was very friendly and helpful. The shop was cleaner than most dr offices. Jason was a gentleman and great at communicating with me what I wanted. Truly a world class artist, I couldn’t be more pleased with the tattoo I got. I’ll be going back for sure.
You get what you pay for, and they have fair prices.
One girl waiting at the same time as me was telling about how she’d been coming there since her first piercing as a teen. So I guess they’re good at keeping clients.

Monique’s itself is a good place, very clean and welcoming but whatever you do don’t go to Jason for a tattoo. This guy sucks, he’s a total ass hole from the second you meet him. He has a bad attitude and acts like he is higher up than everyone. Cancelled my tattoo appointment hours before and never rescheduled, was looking to get something big so that was his loss of money and reputation.

There is no doubt in my mind that the staff at Monique’s Body Essentials are as credible as you could ask for. Every individual given the opportunity to work in Billy and Monique’s shop are highly qualified, fun, and professional. Billy is, without doubt, the best piercer in Clearwater– NO QUESTIONS ASKED!
