La Quinta Inn & Suites Clearwater South

Check-​in and check-​out was fast and quick the room was clean bed was comfortable. awesome one night stay for my husband and I we loved it. breakfast had some hot food as well.

Nice place to stay. Clean rooms, pool, sauna, and friendly staff. Good breakfast, good location.

Had a fantastic stay here and it was great value for the price. The hotel was just remodeled, rooms and common areas look great, and everything is very clean. My king room was spacious — one of the largest rooms I’ve had anywhere — with a separate sitting area with arm chair, ottoman and another chair (in addition to desk + chair) and a nice variety of lighting in the room. The staff was super friendly. Good breakfast and nice to sit in the hot tub at the end of a long day. Appreciated the free wifi and they have several routers throughout the building. For a dog-​friendly hotel, it has absolutely no pet smell whatsoever. I think the room smell referenced in another review is just Tampa Bay humidity — the brief mustiness aired out as soon as the a/​c was on.
I liked the location near Mainlands, where my elderly father lives and I could walk to his house. I’ve stayed at other hotels nearby that were fine, but this one is tops — will definitely be back!

The positives: the staff was friendly the breakfast was good rooms were clean tho a funny smell in the room, probably from smokers.
Negatives: we couldn’t get our key till way late some problem with the key machine, had a problem with kids running loose at midnight then 2 AM waking us up banging on the walls screaming running down the halls, the staff didn’t know how to handle that, oh and on the Internet this hotel is listed as being in Clearwater, it’s clearly in Pinellas park in an industrial area so don’t get your hopes up about being close to the beach, kind of out-​of-​the-​way from everything.

Check-​in was fairly expedient considering there was a large group checking in ahead of us for a family reunion. We were a bit concerned about possible noise issues but, despite being put on the same floor, never really heard much.
The room was very clean and had all the necessities. Breakfast the next morning including scrambled eggs and sausage along with the usual La Quinta morning fare. Again, quite good considering it was free.
The manager on duty, Mr. Patel, was very pleasant to deal with. I have seen previous comments regarding his good nature and can honestly say that I agree. I would definitely stay here again if I was ever in the area.
NOTE:
Directly adjacent to the back of the hotel property is the large, neon and kitschy Quaker Steak & Lube restaurant. Great place to take the family, especially for car and racing enthusiasts.
