My fiancé and I have been going to johnnys for five years to get togo pizza and last night was the last time. This is not the first time they gave us a precooked pizza. They just added some cheese and through it back in the oven. I noticed the pizza had the two different layers of cheese when I got home, one sulitified and the other melting one top. Have to drive back for a new pizza. And the manager/owner never came over and said anything. They just don’t care. Going to Montys for now on. Good pizza and great people that care. Sorry johnnys you lost two customers last night.

Bread is great. The pasta and Alfredo was tasty to. Though the lemon taste was WAY overpowering on my salmon. It leaves a bad taste in my mouth, but bread was great. Three stars

Just ok. I appreciated that the lunch menu was even available at Sunday lunch. The johnny bread and oil was very good. The salad, though nothing special, was very crispy and the ranch dressing was tasty. Ask for the dressing on the side, though, as it may be too much for you. I ordered the eggplant parmesan with vermicelli. It was a large portion so I took at least half of it home. It was ok. Thats all I can say. Not bad, but nothing to brag about either. I feel like I can make the same meal at home and thats not saying much. It was quite crowded so alot of people seem to enjoy it, I guess. This was my second time here. And my last.

Food ok. Experience terrible. Two«women» sat next to us making rude demands of the server and expecting his full attention. They were so obnoxious that detracted from the evening of several tables nearby. Even when the server was clearly coming to my table, these«women» would divert him with the flailing of their fatty arms and pocked marked faces. Apparently one was related to the owner and showing off. Too bad this ruined my dinner and others. Will not return.

Been dining here for over 10 years. Love this place. Moved to Sarasota. Wanted to take the family here for New Years Eve dinner. Called ahead because we knew we wouldn’t be there until 7:45, and they said no problem they take last table at 8pm. Arrived at 7:45 with wife and two little kids in tow, and was turned away. Explained to the manager on duty that we just drove all the way from Sarasota and called ahead, and he didn’t care one bit. Can’t express the level of disappointment with this experience. Been my favorite restaurant for years, but no longer. Unfortunate to say the least.

Johnny’s is truly hit or miss. Overall, their dishes are pretty tasty! It’s the inconsistency that throws me off at times. I feel that Carrabas has more consistency, but the prices at Johnny’s are better. Their pizza is amazing though as well as the Johnny bread. Hopefully you will come on a good day, so you can enjoy their dishes, and if you come on a bad day, give it another chance.

The pizza is a 50⁄50 chance each time we order. The crust is almost cardboard like and will hurt your teeth. The countergirls act like anything you ask for comes out of their payheck so dont even bother asking For more than one piece of johnny bread even if you’ve ordered enough food for 6 people!

This place used to be one of my favorites. A recent visit included chicken cutlet parmesan that was right out of a box with a single slice of provolone on top. I should have sent it back. Too bad, the sauce was still good … but, I won’t be going back. Not the food I expect for the price I paid.

The Restaurant had the Ambience of an authentic Italian Restarant. I loved my Johnny Bread with the delicious dipping sauce. The salads and appetizers were terrific but unfortunately I have some bad news! I ate the scallops scampi and got sick on them ended up in a walk in that evening of my Birthday. Unlike my wife’s delectable shrimp scampi which I would have rated five stars but my scallops had an over seasoning Doused with real lemon juice. At least it tasted that way. Maybe the mushrooms or the scallops but two hours after became extremely ill with what I suspect food poisoning! Stay away From the scallops my friends and it would be a terrific experience in spite of what the Scallops did to me! I was saying hello to Ralph On the big white telephone all night! Happy birthday to me!!!‘n

First time OK. Just OK Italian. Second time, my appetizer did’T come until we were done with our main course. No explanation. Sent it back… too late. HEPUTITONTHEBILL! I deducted it, and no tip. Third time, veal so tough I could not cut it. Told the water. HEBROUGHTME A STEAKKNIFE. Walked out. Never going back. Am telling everyone.

We ordered Johnny’s take-out so I can’t speak for much more than the food, but the experience from ordering the food online, to picking it up, to eating it our house later was really great. We went to Johnny’s website and used the link to order our food online. Some of the items had no descriptions, but the restaurant has many standard«American-Italian» fares so descriptions were unnecessary. After placing our order we were told it would take about 20 minutes for our food to be ready, this is pretty quick, but probably not the wait-time you’ll get for a weekend around dinner time, we ordered our food on a Tuesday evening, around 8pm. We order take-out more frequently than we go and dine in restaurants, but this experience at Johnny’s was one of the better take-out experiences we’ve had. The restaurant, adorned with a huge fork as a novelty door knob, is located in a small strip of stores with ample parking. The hostess who helped us was knowledgeable, gathered our order, made sure everything was correct, and bagged it in front of us, letting us know what items were in the boxes and in the bags. Getting the correct food, at the promised time, is not as easy as it might seem, but Johnny’s take-out experience got it right. This was my first time eating Johnny’s and my boyfriend’s first time since he was a preteen, so we decided to try a couple of things, we got the garlic bread, the provolone garlic bread, the chicken piccata with fettuccine alfredo, combination ravioli(meat and cheese) with alfredo sauce, and the chocolate dream cake. We didn’t realize that we would also get an order of the Johnny bread with the garlic dipping sauce, we might’ve skipped the garlic breads, but who’s going to complain about too much bread? The Johnny bread with the garlic sauce is delicious, it’s incredibly garlic-y, so grab a mint or two at the counter when you leave. The garlic bread is just the Johnny bread with garlic, and the garlic provolone bread is just the garlic bread with melted provolone on top. I really enjoyed the original Johnny bread with the garlic dipping sauce, but my boyfriend loved the cheesy bread. I’m just slightly squeamish about bread that’s even slightly soggy. The chicken piccata was delicious, my boyfriend who is not a fan of lemon in savory dishes, even enjoyed it and asked for more than one bite of mine. The side of fettucine is substantial, I still had enough leftover to make a decent lunch portion the next day. The ravioli was also delicious, we got the alfredo sauce on the side so we were able to cover the ravioli in the amount of sauce we wanted. I think next time we will probably opt for the marinara sauce as the alfredo made the ravioli really rich. We still had a few raviolis left over for lunch the next day, as well. The chocolate dream cake was aptly named, the layers of chocolate cake, chocolate chips, and chocolate ganache/frosting was in a great ratio, the cake was more than enough for the two of us to share, although I don’t think either of us were happy about not being able to have the full slice for ourselves. I wanted to take pictures of the food, but I reached for my fork instead of my camera and there was nothing left to take a picture of by the time I remembered. Looks like now we have an excuse to go back, although we definitely don’t need an excuse to justify a return visit.

Checked this place out Friday night it’s awesome. When you go in make sure to ask for my girl Mariam, she’s amazing. Had the stuffed shells and cook prefect. Then the cheesecake was so creamy and delicious poured some of the raspberry sauce(which it didn’t need) That just made it better. Can’t forget the sangria that my girl made. The best I’ve had. Going back for the sangria for sure. Great little restaurant.

Went to Johnny’s for lunch on a Wednesday and I was surprised at how busy it was for a lunch crowd. My first time dining there and I now know why it was busy — it was delish!(Not busy enough for a wait, not to worry!) The bread and dipping was amazing, but bring gum because it is gaarrr-liiiic-y! Yum! The lunch antipasto was also great and enough to split between two people, but my sister and I also shared a calzone. Lots of cheese and flavor in the calzone. Between the two dishes I was stuffed and satisfied. I’ll definitely be going back! Not to mention the lunch specials & prices are cheap — everyone likes cheap! Mangia Mangia!

Excellent Italian food at a reasonable price! Be sure to try the bread with the olive oil and garlic dipping sauce. Incredible – but way too easy to fill up on. I tried the chicken piccata and recommend it. Planning to come back sometime soon to try my other favorite Italian dish, chicken parmesan.

My friend Corrin — a new Yeper had had a bad day, and since our husbands work together and were doing a presentation tonight and that left us either alone, or we could hang together, we opted for the later. So because she had a bad day, I wanted to take her someplace neither of us had been. I asked my dentist for a suggestion since I didn’t know the area past Sunset point road all that well, and he suggested Johnny’s. He warned me about all the garlic and told me that I’d become addicted to the Johnny bread. MAN was he right. We arrived a little before 6:30 and the parking lot was FULL. I’m serious, there were very few places to park, but we both found spots out back and met inside. Our waitress resembled Elsa with a bit too much eyeliner, but other than that, she was phenomenal! She was always on point, never let our drinks go dry and checked on us, even with her huge section that was full of people. We started out with the Johnny bread, of course and their famous«Sauce» which they make in house, daily — the dipping sauce is an amalgam of olive oil, spices and cheeses, which is deliciously thick and tasty. They also make all their own pasta sauces there in house too! Quite a feat in today’s day and age. We ordered a Caprese salad to start, thick slices of beefsteak tomato with mozzerella cheese, bits of basil and of course basalmic reduction for us to ad at will. it was fresh and tasty. They also brought us out our Pasta Fajolie(sp) soup, and it was killer. Now, mind you, most of the PF soup’s I’ve had in the past have meat of some sort in them, this one did not, but I don’t think it was missing anything. Our main courses were(Corrin) Chicken tetrazini, in a wine butter sauce, served with fettucinni alfredo. — the chicken looked delicious and she gave me a bit to taste, it was tender and flavorful. Myself, i got the chicken parm. and it was good, the only thing I wasn’t particularly fond of was the side of linguini. I don’t reallyt eat pasta, so that sat on the side of my plate untouched. When we were done eating, and our left overs were waiting to be boxed up, I perused the menu for desserts, Corrin asked if there was anything made of chocolate, Well, yes there was, a flourless chocolate cake, so we ordered one to share. It was a decadent treat. To cut through the cloying sweetness, we ordered espresso. Since they were out of demitasse cups, she gave us an extra half shot of espresso since the cups were so large and the coffee amount looked silly in the cup. I would happily return. This place is busy!

Wholly bread and dipping oil! I could make this my meal… Call it the Carbalover. Oil was heavy garlic which worked perfectly here. We split a meaty pizza which was great to… tasty topping and a nice crisp crust. Unfortunately service was very very slow… when we we leaving we found our server outside yelling on her phone… might explain it. But overall food was great

This restaurant has been around for at least 15 years if not more. My extended family goes here on a regular basis because of the value & fast service. I have to say this place doesn’t disappoint. Our most recent trip started with a pitcher of red sangria & their classic Johnny bread. The Johnny bread was fresh & warm served with their secret bread dip which is a blend of olive oil, garlic, spices, garlic, more garlic & then garlic on top of garlic. Seriously this stuff would kill a vampire by just the smell. Our entrees included the veal marsala, penne vodka with grilled chicken, cheese pizza and cheese ravioli. Nothing we were jumping up and down about but this was standard American Italian food in large portions arriving quickly pipping hot after placing our order. Following dinner our desserts included a canoli & tiramisu. We will return for dinner again but not till my garlic breath wears off some time next month.

I’ve eaten here a couple of times with my in-laws in the past. For the life of me I can’t remember what I ordered previously, nothing stands out. It was also my pre-Yelp life that contributes to my lack of remembering as well I suppose. I made it a point to pay attention tonight. We were a party of nine, yet the service was solid for everyone for the entire meal. The Johnny bread is good. Really good. Next came the house salad, it was ok. For my main course I went with the veal marsala. It wasn’t mind blowing, but it wasn’t horrible either. A member of the party ordered a side of meatballs, so I tried one of those as well. If you remember what chef boyardee meatballs taste like, there you have it. I’m torn on this one. This is one of those times I wish I could give half stars, because it’s really a 3.5 type place. If I were rating them solely on Italian cuisine, it gets a low score. However, they don’t hide that they’re American/Italian cuisine. Going to have to go to the score cards on this one. Food: 3 Atmosphere: 3 Service: 4 Value: 4 Full bar gives them another tenth of a point Overall: 3.6 which gets rounded up to a 4.
