Server was hustling and doing a good job. The food was good, I just had breakfast. Come by and give them a try, they are not as crowded as the normal stops and have plenty of room.

Great breakfast for a great price. This place is tucked away from the main streets here in Clearwater Beach, but only a short walk away from the Hilton where I’m staying. Definitely worth the extra half-block to walk. Their outdoor seating affords more sun and atmosphere than most places on Mandalay ave. Their croissant breakfast sandwich was a meal enough by itself, with the perfect amount of egg and cheese plus thick-cut bacon. The homefries reminded me of a very home-cooked feel, but may need salt for some folks.

Short waits, strong drinks, great food. Service sets them apart. My bloody was damn good and damn strong. Eat here.

New owner, trying to make it on reputation alone. The quality has gone down hill, the prices have gone up. The wait staff has changed. Not worth the drive over the bridge for a less than average breakfast. When the locals quit going… it’s a good sign of what’s to come. Doubtful he can make it though off season. If he does, it will be the bilking of tourist that will keep him afloat.

JB’s is a hidden gem for a great breakfast along Clearwater Beach and because it’s under the radar, you be won’t be waiting in a line for a table. Corned beef hash is my breakfast go-to meal and all too often it is served pathetically. It’s either bland, or from a can, or greasy, or the worst — not cooked crispy on a flat top. JB’s served it up extra crispy on both sides, just the way it’s supposed to be. The over easy eggs were cooked perfectly as well. There’s no need to wait in line on the beach, sneak over to JB’s…just don’t tell everybody where you’re going… they like it that way over there.

So bad I was actually scared when they brought it out. Greek salad had potato salad hidden in the bottom. Hollandaise sauce, awful. Toast, margarine not butter. Whatever you do don’t miss the 11:30am breakfast cutoff at Clear Sky café up the street. If you still want eggs– forget it. I was laughing through eating it but now my stomach hurts. Pretty flowers on the outdoor seating area… Edit– you may also want to question Clear Sky since they recommended this place as second to their breakfast.

…Basic breakfast, done well, served –relatively– promptly, no complaints… BUT…kudos for actually having breakfast all day, with mimosas(as two preceding attempts to Unilocal-noted«all-day-breakfast» spot proved wasted)… Worth a stop…

Cheap breakfast with a no frills /basic menu. Had the bagel, ham, egg, and cheese. Wife had the Wake and Bake(eggs, grits or potatoes, bacon, and toast. Huge portions. Coffee is great. Staff is decent, although one server was fighting with the owner on one of the three days we visited. Other than that, solid experience each day. Skip the hotel breakfast and stop here…

We went here for breakfast. It looked like a local place and it was. It was shortstaffed. Because of this the wait times for food was very long. When the food came it was unremarkable and bland. Would not go back a second time.

Quaint little café with a lot of cool memorabilia! Food was pretty good and seasoned well! I only gave 3 stars however because the waitress was very agitated at the fact that I ordered my meal off of the alacarte menu because the only other place on the menu that had country fried steak was too much food for me to eat as well as I had to get up to get my own creamer for my hot tea because the waitress didn’t bring out nor did she ask.

My wife, who loves coffee, thought the coffee was very poor at this restaurant. She did not like the food, either. The bacon was overcooked and very greasy. I ordered sausage links with my eggs and the sausage was good. Prices are low. My hotel staff recommended this place for breakfast, but I would not go back. There are better choices nearby.

I keep an open mind when I’m traveling. Different places, local tastes… They vary from place to place. So when the owner of our hotel told us how great JB’s was, we knew we had to try it. We ordered a typical breakfast: eggs, toast, coffee and, since we were in the South where grits originated, grits. Hands down, this was the worst coffee I ever tasted. Maybe it had been on the burner for awhile but I doubt it since it was only 8 a.m. No big deal, I thought. I’d already had coffee in our room at the hotel. Little did I know how bad it would get. Fast summary: my grits were cold and lumpy and the eggs undercooked and snotty. Ick. How about the bacon, you ask? burned and greasy! Basically all I had for breakfast was toast and jelly because the rest was inedible. JB’s is great for losing weight cause you’ll quickly lose your appetite. My advice is to steer clear.

If you want a basic breakfast with no frills… this is the place for you. They sell all day breakfast. Our grits and eggs were very bland. No seasoning or salt at all. The strawberry french toast I ordered was topped with the corn syrup filled, canned, strawberries. I expected fresh or something close. The service was good. The staff was friendly.

Just found the Island Café for an excellent breakfast with a smiling service and an active new owner. The food was perfectly prepared and what a bargain. Looks like a renovation in the works, have to check it out some more.

Cheap breakfast and friendly staff! Pancakes are delish! Great place to go in downtown clearwater if you are in the mood for a little Diner action! There are cool postcards on the walls from different states sent by past customers.

A clean little place w average food. Friendly service, but this place does not deserve all the hype and 4 – 5 star ratings. Clean and simple, but nothing more. Don’t walk more than a block for this.

Not quite sure what the whole fuss was all about. there is absolutely nothing special about this place. Just an average dinner with an average food and service. We have picked the place for breakfast based on Unilocal’s 4.5 star rank. In my opinion it deserves no more then 3.

We(my husband and three kids under 7) dropped in after seeing such great reviews. The food taste good, nothing out of this world. Our waitress must have been having a bad day because she did not smile once. The other waitress was a sweety. Sandy, I hope you work out!

This place was fantastic for a breakfast right off the beach. Quick and friendly service with huge portions. The food could have used some salt and pepper, but that’s why it’s on the table! If I ever return to Clearwater, I’ll definitely return to JBs.

Our waitress was sweet, the owner’s from Michigan, and the all you can eat pancakes I didn’t try, but I assume they’re delicious. And I verified with the waitress that ‘all you can eat’ indeed means that you can have as many pancakes as you want for $ 5. Currently waiting on my western omelette, whilst casually observing the art on the walls. This is my new favorite place. Erin’s too, although she said she’s bored(probably because I’m writing this review). Ok. Bye.
