I’m Douglas F. Welpton, board certified psychiatrist and psychoanalyst and creator of AdviceInLoveRelationship.com. For more than forty years I have successfully helped countless couples and individuals overcome relationship problems through both marriage counseling and professional workshops.
After graduating from Stanford University, Harvard Medical School and the Boston Psychoanalytic Society and Institute, my professional career first began at the National Institute of Mental Health in Bethesda, MD with a two-year Clinical Fellowship. Since then, I have held numerous positions to help me develop an expertise in family and relationship advice, including a position as Associate Clinical Professor of Psychiatry at Tufts University School of Medicine. In 1968, I opened a private practice to further help couples achieve healthy relationships through relationship counseling.
