Capt Jared

If you want a top notch fishing experience, this is the guy that you need to go with. Captain Jared is a local born and raised and knows the area like the back of his hand. We went on a 8 hours excursion with my son and dad and it was an experience of a lifetime. Capt Jared talked us through what kind of fishing we would be doing and where we would go. He had a loose plan for the day, based on the tides, weather, etc.
We were not disappointed. We were on fish within 10 minutes of leaving the dock, and it really didn’t stop all day. We fished docks early, then some oyster beds, small islands, then out to some reefs, the sand key jetty, then back to docks to finish up. We caught some of everything (black drum, sheepshead, a flounder!, red fish, mangrove snapper, a shark, snook, and trout). Many were not keepers, but we did pretty well. I think we took home 11 keepers, after catching about 50 fish (we kind of lost count). If we didn’t have any luck in a spot, we moved on pretty quickly. He seemed to know the patterns intimately.
He was such a good guide. He truly wants people of have a great fishing experience. He was disappointed that he couldn’t have gotten us more fish (he highly recommends the spring season). We were happy with our experience.
NOTE: If you are staying local, there is a place in Ozone (Molly Goodheads) that will prepare your fish. Be sure to check ahead of time because they do not do it year round.

My buddy and I took a charter today with Jared and couldn’t be happier. He had us on fish all day. Both of us got a back country slam. That means we caught a trout, snook and redfish. I highly recommend using Jared as a guide.

Great Capt. I have been out a few times with Capt Jared and he always finds a way to put us on the fish. He’s a hard working eager young Captain who I highly recommend.

My husband, in-​laws and I went Scalloping with Capt. Jared during our vacation and it was, undoubtedly, the highlight of my vacation. I’ve never been scalloping before but Capt. Jared showed us what to look for and how to spot the scallops and by the end of the trip, I felt like an expert. Capt. Jared provided all of the equipment so all we had to do was show up in our bathing suits. Capt. Jared may seem young, but he knows the gulf like the back of his hand and is a very competent Captain. Needless to say, I felt very safe even though we were in the middle of the ocean/​intercoastal. Oh, Capt. Jared also shucked and cleaned some scallops for us to taste and they were so good, best scallop sashimi I’ve ever had.

I absolutely love Jared and the experience he provided while my boyfriend and I were on vacation in Florida! He is 23 years old, owns his own boats and therefore runs his own business! He is a very knowledgable local who is so personable and funny! Chartering Capt Jared’s boat was the absolute best thing we did in Clearwater and he will definitely be the one and only we call every time we come back! Thank you so much Jared!!!
