BobCAD-​CAM began its journey in 1986 providing one of the first PC Based CAD/​CAM systems to the North American manufacturing sectors at costs that had never been seen before in CNC machine automation technology. It started with small job shops in California and quickly began to take the country by storm. Now almost 3 decades later, BobCAD-​CAM can be found in manufacturing businesses both large and small throughout the world. In 2003 BobCAD added Solid Modeling design technology to its software and the ability to machine solid models. This was a major turning point for the software as it suddenly allowed shops the bility to become more competitive with more advanced manufacturing companies and began to level the technology playing field in CAD/​CAM. Now in 2014 the software is complete with advanced 2D & 3D machining capabilities with 2, 3, 4 & 5 Axis machining technology made affordable to the global machining industries.
