Watered down drinks, blonde valet (didn’t catch his name) left a marijuana smell in my car and changed my radio presets

I stay in a great deal of resorts in both a business and leisure sense. Let me tell you that this property goes above and beyond in terms of service. It all starts with their exception welcome party of ultra friendly and careful valets, and probably the best greeter/​door girl I have ever dealt with. Starting a customer expirience with such a positive gesture is a base for success. Follow that up with consistent hellos, and welcomes by all staff and thourough housekeeping and the service is bound to impress. In a society of cost cutting, properties tend to lose focus on what keeps people happy. It’s not the «tangible» free things that are given, but the intangible ones like a friendly and helpful staff. These are also the easiest for properties to control. Great job across the board. This team is on fire! Thank you for a memorible stay!

Absolute luxury. I stayed here as a post engagement trip with my fiancé for two nights. We ended up staying in the junior king suite directly facing the gulf. The staff was extremely attentive and the amenities were amazing. From the room service, the pool, beach cabanas and the amazing staff I highly recommend staying at the sand pearl!

So I was forced to have Thanksgiving dinner at the Sand Pearl, with my family. Based on my prior experience there, I almost opted to stay home and eat McDonald’s.
That would have been a mistake. Thanksgiving Dinner was spectacular in every respect. The food was to die for. The service was impeccable and the Sand Pearl us now in my A+ List.
Awesome us the only word for this dinner!

First 4 star hotel experience for me.
Brought my girlfriend for a weekend getaway and was very satisfied (if you know what I mean: D)
We got a free room upgrade to coastal view. The valet service was excellent, the location was great, the beach was beautiful, the room service + food were second to none, and the *ahem* was intense and steamy.
Bed was super comfy and lots of pillows, A/​C was very sensitive and worked the way it should. Everything was clean and neat.
I would definitely stay here again next time I visit Clearwater.

Wow. Our party of 14 came for girls weekend to celebrate the life of our sister, whose battle with breast cancer will soon come to an end. The staff has been ABSOLUTELY amazing. Our sister has been showered with attention and such warm care. We all have been treated like royalty. I think sometimes on Unilocal it’s easy to post criticisms because you never see staff as people, just staff. The «staff» here has proven they are not just employees, but compassionate people with warm hearts. Thanks to everyone from the valet to the front desk!

We had a fantastic vacation at the Sandpearl. We didn’t eat at any of the on site restaurants, though we did order snacks by the pool and they were tasty. Our favorite thing was relaxing by the pool, though as the weekend neared it became harder and harder to get chairs. Earlier in the week we had no issues finding seats in the shade. The pool staff seems to do a good job of clearing away towels from chairs that have been left empty for awhile. They are also very friendly and efficient.
Our room was always well cleaned and the housekeeping staff was always friendly when we saw them. The beds were very comfortable and we had everything we needed in our room.
The beach is huge and very nicely kept. Two things to note about the beach: the chairs provided by Sandpearl are close to the resort, which is a very long walk from the water. So plan ahead if you’d rather sit down by the water and either bring your own chairs or take a blanket or towel to sit on. Also, the resort doesn’t have shade umbrellas to take down to the water’s edge but you can buy one at many of the local drug stores and souvenir shops. I really wish we had done that. Some shade would have been nice down there.
There is an office/​work room next to the Concierge stand which includes a place to print your boarding pass for your flight home. Very helpful. The resort WiFi worked well in our room. No issues there.
There is a children’s program, which is one of the reasons we decided on the Sandpearl. We thought we’d enjoy an afternoon or evening break once or twice during the week. Unfortunately, our son was sick for most of the week and wasn’t able to use the services. But they have a fun room devoted to the kids and the staff seemed nice. One concern I did have… when we were considering signing him up early in the week (before he got sick) we were told that no one else had registered for that block of time but that he could be there by himself and they would provide one childcare provider. I have worked in management of child care programs and we NEVER have one childcare provider alone with the children, especially when there is just one child. One adult and one child alone together is too risky for the child as well as the staff member. In addition to the risk of a child being abused, or a child accusing the provider of something they didn’t do, you also have to consider what will happen if there is a medical emergency of some sort. There should always be a second adult present. I hope the Sandpearl will consider this feedback. We did not sign him up for the program that day because I did not feel comfortable leaving him alone with one unfamiliar adult.
A couple of restaurant recommendations… we walked down to the Beach Shanty Café for breakfast and it was delicious. The Post Corner is more of a trolley ride away but their food was wonderful. And the Clear Sky Café right next door was great for breakfast and dinner, though my son found the pizza to be too spicy for him.
If you’re considering a trip the Sandpearl I hope you will go! We had a wonderful, memorable family vacation. I will add some photos.

This is a great resort. It is on a beautiful stretch of beach. Nice beach chairs are already on the private beach and are included in your mandatory «activity fee,» so that there are no fees or cabana boys to see for a chair. The pool is large and heated. There are two hot tubs.
The rooms are beautiful and finished more like nice apartments or condos, with real furniture, 10′ ceilings, and 8′ doors. I like the one and two bedroom suites. They have full kitchens, and a washer and dryer in the room.
Service is very good. They will take care of everything and anything you will let them take on for you.

We stayed at the Sandpearl Resort for 4 days a few weeks ago. My family totally enjoyed the experience the moment we arrived on property. The staff provided excellent service for us, the food at the restaurant by the pool was fantastic, and the drinks were great. Yes, the drinks were pricey however I thought they were within reason for this type of property.
The cleanliness of our room and property was simply outstanding. We ventured to the beach a few times and it’s great the property has it’s own area for guests. The location of the property is great because you can walk to several restaurants.
We will definitely return!

Stayed here for 5 days with the hubs while visiting Clearwater. This hotel was referred to us by a soldier of my hubby’s. We were deciding between here and Shepherds and we are grateful for our decision. Hotel was spotless! Service was great. Drinks were pricey. Resort fee is a little much but we drank that up in the free champagne offered every day in lobby.
There are so many restaurants within walking distance that you really don’t need a car. There is also a trolley. $ 2 per person per ride or $ 4.50 per person for a day pass.
The beach is clean and right out back. Sandpearl owns the beach on their property. Lots of chairs and umbrellas for use/​rent. Walk down to Pier 60. Don’t forget to watch the sunset on the beach at least once.
Everyone was friendly and willing to help with any need.
This is not a party hotel. Very family friendly. Lots of weddings. Not a single’s joint. The bar got pretty live at night. Fun crowd. Small fitness enter. We stayed in room 518 and had a nice view of the pool and the beach. S/​O to Debbie handing out the bubbly in the lobby!

I had Tha pleasure of having brunch there a few weeks ago. What a wonderful experience it was from the moment we went in to the moment we left. I was greeted by lovely hostesses and sat in the corner of the patio… what a great view of everything. We had lovely people at the table next to us also.. Mark Higgins was our server … Envre was taking care of the table next to us. Neither one of them let us wait for clean silverware or champagne. … I felt like I had 2 waiters all to myself that day and it was grand. … plus the manager… I think her name was Debi, stopped by the table… I think the do a great job and have some awesome employees… both Mark and Envri got hugs from me before I left.
Great Experience! !!! Will recommend and go back.

The hotel have very kids friendly pool,

But I take off 2 stars due to the rook cleaning level, there is few spot of carpet upon arrival I feel it’s dirty and sticky, there are spot on the toilet still when we check in the room, looks like their house keeping team need a new training or higher inspected procedures

If it wasn’t for the assistant manager being so helpful I would’ve given a 1 star review so please read before booking.
It was the first getaway in who knows how long for my hubby and I. I had purchased a package with s’mores and our own fire + massages.
Every which way I turned things were screwed up…
There was no hot chocolate with the s’mores as advertised.
We had to share the fire with like 10 other people
And I can’t remember now what the third thing was but I was livid.
Here’s the thing though, the spa was awesome!
So I would just double check that you’re getting what’s advertised.
I would go back one more time to see if I was treated better and had a better experience.

My whole family absolutely fell in love with this resort! The location is perfect. It is right on the beach and within walking distance of several nice restaurants and shops.
The private resort area on the beach is so convenient! The pool is gorgeous. I was truly in paradise. Not to mention that the staff is extremely friendly, professional and accommodating.
The bar and grill by the pool is a great place to relax and watch the beautiful sunset on the water. They usually have live music and a bonfire on the beach. I will certainly be staying at the Sandpearl again!

You’d be hard pressed to find a better resort in Clearwater. I spent a long weekend here in early November 2014 for a wedding. Everything was excellent; from the service to the food and resort amenities, I’d gladly stay here again.
Housekeeping provides nightly turndown service accompanied with a couple of chocolates and a small bottle of soothing scented spray for the bed. That’s lovely and all, unless you drunkenly stumble into the room late and fall asleep on all that stuff. I had a friend (I realize everyone will think it was me) that did this only to wake up to smeared melted chocolate all over himself, the sheets and a housekeeper that just entered the room with the most horrified look on her face. «It’s chocolate!» he yelled, easing her fears of having to break out the biohazard equipment. So yeah… look out for that.

I’ve stayed in places from Motel 6 to the Ritz-​Carlton and everything in between and I have to say, this resort is a complete mess. Not only are the prices out of control, this hotel needs new management.
First when I booked my stay, they were offering a promotion. I needed to move the dates and asked if they could honor the promotion for the new dates and they refused. So I kept my original booking because the difference in the rates was ridiculous.
A week later I went on the web site and saw they were now offering the same promotion as my original booking. (A little annoyed because they could have made the adjustment on my booking but chose not to when now it is offered.) I cancelled my original booking and rebooked what I needed. (It’s not good Customer Service is to Charge for the first night’s booking.)
I had paid for my first reservation (paid the deposit) and needed to pay for another night’s hotel for the revised reservations (another deposit). I contacted the hotel 2 days later to inquire if the refund had been processed for the cancellation. They said yes, but every day, for the next 11 days, no credit was posted. I contacted the hotel pretty much every day to find out what was going on (even copied the manager of the hotel and heard nothing). They kept giving me excuse after excuse and saying that the credit was processed — when it wasn’t. Any time I’ve had a merchant refund back to my card it takes 24 – 48 hours at the latest. 11 Days after my cancellation and still no credit. This was clearly something that was going on, on their end…
We arrived at the hotel. Finally, the day we arrived the credit was posted. While we’re checking in at the lobby, the girl lets us know of the 2 restaurants on site. I’ve eaten at Tate’s before so I was familiar. My friend and I decided we were going to have dinner there. Up to our room we go, unpack, get settled, and now it’s 6:50 so we decide to head down for dinner. We get to Tate’s at 6:55. The Waiter comes up to us and proceeds to tell us that «The kitchen is closing in 5 MINUTES and if we want to order anything to let him know.» 5 MINUTES? What restaurant closes at 7:00 pm that is right on the beach? I’ve eaten at Tates before and they never closed this early. And why was the girl at the front desk not aware of these hours? And for the record as of this writing, Tate’s hours is 11:00am — 7:00pm — not even open for breakfast either…
Here are the other issues we had:
— When we checked in, I asked the girl at the front desk for a large glass or a vase or something because we brought flowers with us. She said she would have that brought up right away. No one ever showed up.
— The waters in our room, which is supposed to be included in the ridiculous ‘Resort Fee’ of $ 25.00 per day + $ 3.00 tax, was not replaced daily.
— One day the TV remote went missing. Called Room Service, no one answered. Called Concierge and told them we needed a remote and was told one would be brought up immediately. Over an hour later still no one showed up so we called Room Service (some one answered this time) and one was finally brought up.
— Toilet paper was not replaced in our room.
— Last day of our visit whomever in housekeeping made up our room moved everything in the room around. Personal items of ours were moved and some were put away? Things were touched that should not have been touched. It was weird walking back into our room and things moved around.
— Checking out had problems with the Valet charges. Charged us for 2 cars when we only had one. We had a friend visit us for dinner the first night (of which we never went to because it was closed) and they wanted to charge $ 10.00. I told them there were there for dinner. They said it still was a charge. I told them they’ve NEVER charged us before. I’ve been there many times along with other people I know and was never charged for dinner. Now they are charging $ 10 to have dinner there. And instead of trying to figure out what happened, another employee standing by overheard us and started justifying charges — I told her to mind her own business I wasn’t talking to her. (Again, these people don’t know proper customer service especially for the level this resort is trying to portray.)
— Lastly, my friend and I were going to split the bill. After the bill being revised they charged the wrong cards the wrong amounts. I was pretty much charged for the majority of the bill when it was supposed to be split evenly.
This hotel needs 1) New Management, 2) Training of the Reception/​Front Desk Employees, 3) Retraining of Housekeeping, 4) Someone who understands Marketing.
This is NOT a 5 Star, nor a 4 Star Resort. Maybe a 3 star and that’s only because of the location. Proper Management and Customer Service is GROSSLY lacking. I won’t stay here again nor visit any of their restaurants again. After years of coming here, I can say that it’s gone down hill. I’d try other places if possible.

I arrived at the Sand Pearl for the Husband’s Christmas Party, which was held at their Resturaunt, and was pleasantly surprised. Everything was valet, but as long as I had the ticket validated, that was no problem.
Walking into the foyer, I was greeted with a sand sculpture of Santa and his elves. This was such a beautiful work of art. There were games in the lobby — chess and checkers. and very comfortable couches. The décor was absolutely the epitome of Florida casual meets oppulence.
With the Christmas décor done, it is a sight to behold, especially since it looks like christmas on the inside, but outside, you can’t be sure, since it LOOKS like summer, but the air bites like winter.
I can’t wait to do a staycation here!

This is a beautiful resort… even the employees are easy on the eyes. We booked the least expensive room because we hardly stay in the room during vacation anyway. The room was large, the bathroom had lots of room for all of my hair and makeup items, and the beds were comfortable. The only bad thing I have to say about the room is the location. We were located on the side right next to a restaurant that had live music every night until about 11 or 12. Even though the doors on the patio were heavy we could still hear the music at night. Even my kids mentioned that they didn’t want to hear the music anymore!
The pool area and beach were always clean and well-​staffed. I loved that they would come around to take my drink or food order… I never had to get up for a thing! The activities desk had complimentary flavored water every day which I really appreciated because I drink A LOT of water so I would fill a bottle a couple times a day. The activities desk also had complementary swimming accessories for the kids like water noodles, boogie boards, floats, and sandcastle building items.
We had lunch by the pool one afternoon from Tate’s grill and it was very good. The prices were also very reasonable. The children’s menu had apple slices and animal crackers instead of fries which I actually liked… my kids ate enough French fries while on vacation! And the pina coladas… oh I miss the pina coladas… they were AWESOME!

One of the best resorts I’ve ever been to. Every employee here is always cheerful and at your service. The hotel itself is breath-​taking… The views are second to none and all of the amenities are top notch. The pool is huge and there are plenty of lounge chairs. You can always grab a drink or something to eat from one of the servers tending to the pool area from Tate’s Grill (also amazing). All of the food I have tried here has been outstanding– from Caretta to Tate’s, I haven’t been disappointed. The Sandpearl property also extends to the beach, so, unlike other parts of Clearwater Beach, you can actually drink while laying out and relaxing on one of their yellow chairs under an umbrella or cabana!
Honestly, from the moment your car is valeted to the moment you check out, you won’t experience bliss like this anywhere else in FL.
