Jerry has been great. He was able to bring to life two units that had been declared dead by 2 other technicians. This saved us tens of thousands of dollars in the short term and everything has been running flawlessly. I have two commercial buildings and Jerry has done work at both locations and 5 different HVAC units with no complaints on his service or professionalism. He had a vendor take their time on delivering parts, but I cannot hold that against the company. I plan on calling Jerry every time I need some work done on my HVAC units.

I, Scott A. Dunn, do hereby attest to the following; on Friday, May 8, 2015 at approximately 9:00AM an employee from Blackjack Heating and Air Conditioning came to work on the thermostat that I purchased from Mendo Mill. I described to him what needed to be done. I gave him the instructions for the thermostat. He looked up on his tablet the price it would be to hook it up the correct way. He said it was going to be $ 42.26. So, as he was hooking it up, I joked with him that it was my fault that I didn’t hook it up right. Then he replied, yes it was your fault. You didn’t hook it up right. It only took him about 40 minutes. When he was finished I paid him the $ 42.26 in cash. I just signed his tablet and he packed up his bags and left. I did not receive any receipt, invoice or written agreement by mail or email. On Saturday, May 9, 2015 at approximately 3:00PM it was starting to get warm in the house. I turned on the air conditioner switch and waited a minute or so. And nothing happened. Then turned it off. Then I tried the heater switch and waited a minute or so. Then turned it off. Then tried the air conditioner switch again. Then waited a minute or so. Then switched it off. I thought it didn’t work. So I looked at the instructions and couldn’t find anything. Thinking it did not work I called up Blackjack Heating. I talked with Jerry the Owner. I told him that there was something wrong with the thermostat and it wasn’t working. He said he could not come over. I said I didn’t need him to come over, as I was having company on Sunday. He said he couldn’t come over here and will have his assistant call. So about ½ an hour later his assistant called. I asked him if he could come over on Monday, May 10, 2015. He came over about 9:00AM. I explained to him that I didn’t think it was working. I gave him the instructions again. And, after about 10 minutes, he said it was all my fault and that he would have to charge me $ 90.00 because it has suddenly turned into a service call. He said he would have to explain to me how to use the thermostat, and that would cost $ 90.00. He said again that it was all my fault. I hesitated for a second and then I told him to get out. He said you’re not gonna pay me the $ 90.00? I said no, get out. He packed up a stuff and went storming out. I said on his way out, don’t let the door hit you in the butt on the way out. Then he replied, lucky I didn’t hit you on the way out. Then I said, are you threatening me? Then he said, you threatened me first, and he got in his truck and left. I had no receipt from the first visit, and I did not sign or receive any kind of invoice or bill by mail or email. I have no record of him even being there the first time or the second time. It turns out that it actually takes up to 4 or 5 minutes for it to turn on. It had nothing to do with the settings or how it was wired. He could have told me the first time he was here that it would take 4 to 5 minutes to come on. Again, I received no written or verbal instructions either time he was here. He did not warn me that it could be a $ 90.00 service fee when he called me back, again, I thought there was something not working right. He also did not warn me at the door before he came in the second visit that it might be a $ 90.00 service fee.

This is in response to Scott D. And the review he gave us at blackjack heating and air. I am the owner of this business. We received a call from Scott and went out to his house. We found that he purchased his own thermostat and attempted to install it himself. The wiring on the stat had been done wrong and could have possibly shorted out the low voltage side of his unit. We arrived and properly installed the stat. We also informed him how to use the stat for which he purchased on his own. Later the next day we received a call back stating the unit work intermittently. I stated we would send out my technician out. After he was contacted by our tech And an appointment was made. He was also informed if it was operator error that there would be a service fee to pay of $ 90.00. Which Scott agreed to pay. Our tech arrived and found it to be operator error. When Scott was informed the he now needed to pay the $ 90 became irate and basically threw our tech out the door. Our technician never threatened Scott. We will not be servicing this customer any longer.

Jerry and his crew installed our mini splits 4 months ago. He gave us a quote and stuck to that. He and his crew timely and efficiently installed the system. Jerry came back for minor adjustments to make sure we were completely satisfied. He was easy to talk to, professional, and didn’t try to sell us anything we didn’t want. His customer service throughout and after installation was outstanding. The heat and air system works great. Highly recommend.

Black Jack heating put our new air conditioning and heating system in our home in Lakeport. Jerry was prompt to put it in and when we had any questions or needed help he was there immediately to help us. Wayne and I would recommend Black Jack(Jerry) to anyone and everyone who needs help or new heating or air

Before using their services I highly recommend you ask for a quote. If they are going to replace parts ask f what parts, that will give you a chance to check for prices. Today one of their employees came to my home to check for issues with my AC. A couple of parts were replaced. The guy who came told me the price of the parts and to my surprise the price of the parts was hiked over 100%. Unfortunately the parts had already been replaced by the time I checked the prizes on Amazon. I will give you an example one of parts online was $ 60 dollars yet I was charged close to $ 150(talk about feeling like a total fool). I asked the guy why he hiked the price to more than twice, he quoted«overhead coast» and seemed upset that I had even asked him. The diagnoatics and installation(took about 25min) cost me about another $ 140. You can do the math, I was out over $ 300 dollars for something that should have cost around $ 200. He charged Ober $ 300 dollars total even though he had verbally quoted unter $ 300. Please do your research, do not be left with a sour taste in your mouth when you have to pay the bill. And later realize that you were over charged for parts and also possibly for labor.
