Lake front property with beach, dock with slips, fishing pier, boat launch, game room with pool table, ping pong table, arcade, horse shoe pit, lots of grass and flowers. Relax and get some sun, read a book, fish, boat and ski on the lake, soak in your jacuzzi tub, or swim in the lake, BBQ your dinner, have a romantic get away, gorgeous sunrise and sunsets, or a family get together for small or larger groups. Go to near by Golf, Casino’s, horseback riding, hiking trails, bird watching,… We are located on the north shore on Hwy. 20 which is the deepest part of the lake and the best fishing. Looking out to the lake toward Konocti (dorment valcano) and watching the sunset (expecially when we have clouds) is spectacaular. Come and visit us soon.

History

Established in 1940.

My husband (Murray) and I (Jody) purchased Blue Fish Cove in 1997 and have been changing and updating since we purchased the resort. We have updated the fishing pier with slate tile and a fireplace to keep you warm on cool nights or just sit and have a glass of wine and enjoy the lake. We have put in a new dock with slips. We have updated all the units continually. Two of our units have new jacuzzi tubs with showers. We added grass and flowers, inlarged the boat launch, raised the back and added more grass. We just added some new sinks with granit counter tops in the bathrooms and added new stoves and ovens. We completly redid the Coconut Shack inside and out. Always trying to improve.

Murray and I (Jody) came to Clear Lake to retire in 1997. We decided we needed something to do so we purchased Blue Fish Cove. We love it up here and really enjoy the business. I am now running the resort by myself and I am still enjoying it. The people that come are great and I injoy helping our guests have a great time. It makes me happy when people enjoy there stay and have a great time. I sold the resort in 2008 when my husband was having health problems and carried the loan. I now have the resort back and our customers are really happy to see me back at Blue Fish and don’t want me to leave again. This is very flattering and I am very happy here. Thank you all, Jody

my wife and I spent our 24^th anniversary there in bungalow # 8 and it was gorgeous and clean and beautiful! we had a great time and staff was great! the kitchen was clean and had utensils and things that we needed for our weekend.
they were kind enough to stay late for us coming in from sacramento. after getting there, we parked by our room and unloaded and started the weekend…
the lake was beautiful even though that it rained the whole time!
thanks for a great stay!!!

Blue Fish Cove resort is the absolute worst place a have ever visited it is filthy my belongings came up missing, the beds was not clean, the staff is uncaring… It was my Birthday yesterday and I left a day early because the accommodations was not pleasing. A waste of my time and money.

Stayed here during Thanksgiving 2014 and it was a pleasant experience we had the cottage by the lake, the ones with the deck looking out at the lake have a seating area, great to have a bonfire as wood is provided by the resort. The cottages range from a one bedroom, two bedroom and studio setup, we (a couple) stayed at the studio setup and it was big enough for us. Altogether it was great.
Tip: take an extra blanket if you’re a person that gets cold easily, it gets really cold in the winter season.

This place looked dead and dreary when my husband and I arrived, so as I read the reviews of those who actually spent time there with words like, «filthy,» «dirty,» and «disgusting,» I’m grateful that Jody decided not to honor my room confirmation, Basically, the manager/owner gave my reservation away and lied about contacting me, about it. When we arrived to check in on Saturday evening at 6:15, she told me she doesn’t do one night bookings. (even though I got a confirmation for my reservation in an email) I had booked cottage #8; which was directly on the lakefront. Then she offered to rent out an inferior room away from the lake for one night??? REALLY??? Is the no-one-night-rentals your policy or not?! She didn’t offer much of an apology and I personally think she didn’t like what she saw when she saw us; an African-American couple. Based on the circumstances, that is the only explanation that makes sense. I got a confirmation email on July 8^th and arrived on July 11^th only to be told that my reservation was never confirmed. Bad business, bad vibes, bad karma…
BUT– Just 3 miles down the road, we found the most charming, immaculate, lakefront cottages at Lake Place Resort. 9515 Harbor Dr. Glenhaven, CA 95 443. (707) 998‑3331. Phillip Chu and his lovely wife made us feel at home at their resort. The dock was wonderful; just a few steps from the back door of the cottage, overlooking the lake. It was clean with benches and tables and chairs for comfortable fishing and socializing, The feather top mattress in our wonderful cottage was heavenly and the room was complete with microwave, fridge, stove, oven, toaster, coffee maker, cooking utensils, pots, pans, dishes, cable tv (flatscreens) and wifi. Mr, Chu even taught my husband the difference between bass fishing and catfish fishing; loaning him equipment and gifting him some bait. Now that is hospitality.
By the way, the rate for this cottage was exactly the same rate as the rate for Bluefish. So, if you want a great resort to patronize, check out Lake Place Resort. You will not be sorry.

This place has some positives: it has a doc and launch right on the property, it has fire wood and fire pits all over the property, it has a game room to play ping pong; it is also reasonably priced at 120 per night, and it allows pets. The big issue is that it just isn’t clean to the standards that a hotel should be cleaned to. It is dingy and dirty. The top comforter of the bedding was stiff and smelled bad. The kitchen is poorly stocked. They don’t even stock the rooms w creamer and sugar for coffee. Where the basket of coffee stuff was, I found two packs of sweet and low, some ketchup packets, and random coffee filters that didn’t fit the coffee maker. There are so many bugs and spiders crawling all over the place it is obvious they are not paying for pest control. The cleaning person clearly cuts corners as there was dirt built up in all the corners and tracks of windows, etc. When I crawled in bed and smelt that stiff old crusty comforter, it was hard to sleep. If you don’t mind bugs and sub par cleaning, randomly stocked kitchen, then I’d say stay here as its cheap, has some cool and convenient property features, and is better than a motel 8. However, I’d highly advise you to bring your own bedding!

I give blue fish cove two big stars! My husband and I had an outstanding time staying in the lake house. The customer service was great ! The room was fantastic the only reason they’ve received three stars not five is because I wish the bedding in the room was clean. When we arrived everything was fantastic when we went to go to sleep their was droowly looking stains on the bed. Which I’m sure was not their fault I think whoever they’ve hired as a maid is cutting corners. Other than that things are great and I would stay their again I would just ask for clean sheets.

Overall: Solid for the off season price. We stayed for three nights for the price of one night in the city. Jody was nice and responsive. She gave us a free upgrade before we got there.
The bed, TV, and kitchen were functional. Minus two stars for bathroom upkeep: 1.5 for the spiders and ants, and 0.5 for the clean but slightly stale towels.

Filthy!!! DO NOT STAY HERE… When I rent a room it’s with the expectation that there are no living animals in the room and a working smoke detector, neither of which was the case. I can’t imagine this room has been cleaned in the last couple months. I expect bugs when you are next to a lake but this is ridiculous. Floors were dirty, dead bugs in carpet, didn’t sleep because the bed was itchy. If you do stay here come with your own cleaning supplies because you will need them.

This a very cozy property right on the lake. We stayed in cottage 8 and loved it. I would say it is the best cottage there. the owners are great and very helpful from the time you make the reservation until the day you leave. overall it was a great experience

My husband and I had the most amazing time here. We stayed in Cottage # 8. Every morning we woke up, opened the window and blinds to get a view of the lake and all the hills beyond. You could hear the birds and the lapping of the lake on the shore. The room had a cute little kitchen, living area, and queen bed — small and quaint. There was a grill too that we cooked on (we brought a grill pan with us to cook fish). Yes, there are bugs … and it’s a cottage by the lake so it will not be immaculate. It’s a very natural setting and exactly what we expected. The owners are super nice too. Take a book and your raft, stop by the grocery store and grab some groceries for the week, and prepare to do nothing but relax! I can’t WAIT to come back here again. One of the best vacations I’ve ever had.

Filthy!!! Cobwebs on the walls, musty smell, crumbs/dirt on bathroom and kitchen floor, dust and dead bugs all over the doors/windows. No way this room has been properly cleaned in recent history because there were also dead bugs on the shower walls. I understand that it’s near a lake and bugs are an inevitability but this was too much!
The beds have tons of broken springs and most of the dishes I took out needed to be rewashed because they had food on them. The fire pit area had dirty chairs and cushions making it an uninviting place to hang out.
No way this place was worth the price they are charging. It seems like this must have been a nice place at one time but they have just gotten too lax with the upkeep. Bummer…
They did have cable TV and free WIFI which was nice.
Tip: at this time of the year the lake had a lot of algae near their dock so you should make sure to have other activities planned if you don’t want to swim in that.

This place is amazing totally peaceful on the lake. Clean and warm, cozy! The owner Jodie was so sweet. They let our 2 dogs stay… super nice owner. I FELT AT HOME IN AS IF I WAS A FRIEND OF THE FAMILY. IF YOU WANT SOMETHING COZY CUTE AND HOMEY, this is the place to go. it’s all about respect!
***** Make sure to check out the fishing shack on the water, so cool and has a fireplace where you can fish all night!

I’m giving a 5 because this was what the doctor ordered! If you want sterile, go somewhere else. Resort? Depends on your definintion. We were in #7 and loved the one day. Wished for more. Didn’t see all the places around the lake, but felt SO LUCKY to have found this place. Peaceful. Right on the water. Otters in the AM. Hostess with the mostest. AHHHHH!!!

My first thought was what an awful worn-out place. The cottages are not isolated so you hear every noise and the cabin (#1) was RIGHT next to the road. As the sun set, the place was a bit more inviting; the view over the lake was beautiful. and if I for a second try to forget about the noise from the road, it was OK

I had a great time here :) It is a family owned business and they are really sweet and helpful. i called about 100x before the trip and Jody, the owner was really patient with me and accommodated to everything.
The resort is right on the lake and the view was BEAUTIFUL. It was so relaxing. They had lots of fun stuff too– horseshoe pit, game room, and a basketball hoop.
I stayed in Cottage #8 and it was so cute. I got the homely feel from it. They pretty much have everything you needed. The only issue i had was with the bathroom door… you cant close it unless the toilet seat was up… lol hard to explain, but you will see. The view from the room is extraordinary.
We went during the weekday, so I’m not sure how busy it gets. For us, a Tuesday thru Thursday trip was very relaxing and refreshing for our busy lives.
BE PREPARED – bring inflatables, food, or whatever you need to enjoy on your trip. We went to the grocery store and everything was ridiculously over priced and there are not many very selections.
