Established in 1947.
Our History
Our company was formed in 1947 in tiny Lester Prairie, MN (pop. ~1, 700), when Art Schwichtenberg purchased a local steel building franchise. He named it «Lester’s of Minnesota Inc.,» and soon thereafter focused the company on a material he thought was superior: lumber. Initially, Lester’s sold only gothic arches for dairy barns. To meet demand, it quickly moved to offer complete building packages in many markets.
Our Owners
True to its roots, Lester Buildings remains a privately held, locally owned company. Each owner-partner is a hands-on employee who values hard work, loyalty and respect. Our company takes great pride in employing generations of hard-working local citizens — with no dress code required!
