Seems like a cool place for the regulars to hang out, but as a first-timer, I wasn’t much impressed with the service or the food. Meh.

I have been to Mckinely’s many times with my boyfriend and I have to say I love their food! They’re located in a strip mall by Lowes Foods. We usually go in the evening and share a few appetizers together. My all time favorite is the Mashed Potato Cheese Bread. I know it sounds intimidating but trust me once you try it, you’ll be addicted. I also love their homemade chips. They always taste fresh and crispy. Also, they have the best potato skins I’ve ever had. I am docking one star however because of the service. The hostess and waitresses are always nice and friendly, but they always seem to disappear for almost my whole meal. But hey I’ll keep coming back for the good food. Don’t be shy, try Mckinely’s!

I love this place. The waitresses are good, the guy bartender is pretty amazing. The blonde bartender isn’t my favorite though, she seems to play favorites. The food is definitely pub food, burr really good!

Came in late on a weeknight, right after 10pm on a Tuesday. Quick and friendly service. Had a double shot of Jameson on the rocks and a Reuben with onion rings. All was very good. No complaints here.

We really enjoy going to McKinley’s, the food and typical pub food and they staff is friendly and attentative. Noise level not too bad mostly people talking to each other. Will keep going as it is a favorite.

We have our 8 year old daughter her choice of where we were going to go to celebrate her birthday and she chose McKinley’s. We love the food here and the service is awesome. Our waitress Leah was top notch. She made out entire experience the best. She made our daughters birthday super special. She bought her ice cream and even gave her a birthday present. Can’t say enough about this place and Leah. If you happen to be in the neighborhood, give this place a try, you won’t regret it.

Better Than it was years ago. The food is pub fare and the sides are pub chips, fries, etc. The beer selection is good. The workers are friendly. Like most pubs in the area, it’s in a strip mall. The food could be a little lighter, with some salads and vegetables for sides. Irish is in it’s name, the beers and the food, but it could use more Irish in it’s music. Usually the music is easy listening or 70’s through the 90’s, But this past time it was horrible, they have Sirius and played club music at lunch time, which was a bad choice for the crowd which is older and local. I believe that the management needs to tell the bartenders that the music is for the patrons and not the bartenders. No dance floor should equal no club music. It’s not conducive to eating, or hanging around. We went in, ate our lunch, and left because of the music. It was not relaxing and we didn’t want to spend any extra time there. But to be fair to the management, it was the first time that we experienced this during lunch. On the other hand, if it’s like this again, we won’t be going back. I’ve been a resident of Clayton for 10 years, and have been going to McKinley’s for years. The recent changes that they’ve made have been for the good, and they’ve gotten better. Hopefully they will keep getting better

Great food great service. Can’t ask for more at a lil Irish bar. Every time me and my fiancé go there we have a good time. Deff must stop spot. Since our first time we stopped over a year ago before we moved here from NJ. They made a good impression the first time we stopped we just kept going back. Rather go there then any other big chain restaurant. Oh yeah last thing. Please find a way to have French union soup. Would be a blessing.

Mckinley’s Restaurant and Pub is a Irish themed bar in a strip mall along Highway 70 in Clayton, NC. I did not eat anything here on a recent visit, just drank beer. Bartender was accommodating to us. There are plenty of TVs in the bar. Just in case you were wondering they do have both tables & booths. On the menu is the usual bar fare, burgers, salads, sandwiches, soups & steaks. Very strange, my review is no longer listed. Someone I suspect is taking off the bad reviews only to show the good reviews

Shepard’s pie-good. Mix it up every once in a while with a McKinley’s visit. Not sure how often I’d go back with out the Shepard’s pie or if it was in a town with a lot more choices of restaurants.

McKinley’s is a pretty solid sports bar/Irish pub in Clayton. They have done a nice job turning a strip mall into an inviting space. They have a decent beer selection including Harp and Guinness. The food is definitely above average for a sports bar and you’ll find a fair number of families there for dinner. I’ve had the Reuben several times and it has always been great. The pastrami is piled high and the kraut or slaw is good. They put out a nice juicy burger as too. My wife generally goes with a healthier option; the grilled salmon. She has always been been happy and found it well cooked and seasoned. Be sure to try the home made chips with ranch dressing. They are very good start to your meal! Service is friendly and efficient even when they are crowded.

Very boring. High beer prices– $ 5 for a Guiness? Food is boring. Signed dollars hung everywhere I feel are tacky. I go there out of necessity because there isn’t much around. I really wish this place was better– it has so much potential– but with lower prices and a re-done menu. Yawn.

McKinleys is a great place to go for a night out if you are looking for really good food and good people in a casual atmosphere. The waitress might remind you you’re in Johnston County, but its great, they give you great service and the chefs in the kitchen make some awesome food. We go for hot wings(watch out, they are HOT!) and I’ve tried several other things from the menu and it has ALL been good. Its a fun place to take friends and family, whether you are there for the bar or the food.

Food’s okay. I mostly go for the Guinness/Bass on draft. A little smokey for me. I also like that they’ve got NTN.
