So having never had to purchase replacement windows before, I went to the internet to find a local provider in Clayton, NC. I searched online to find out what standard costs were so when I received a quote from Clayton Glass & Mirror that was lower than the «standard» costs, I was thrilled. Not only were they prompt, and friendly, they were coming in at a good budget.
Lesson number one: Learn to know when you don’t know enough about something to ask the right questions!
Here’s the right question to ask of someone selling you replacement windows: What exactly will you be replacing?
It turns out that in vinyl windows there are several «parts». And when a «Professional» says they are replacing a window, that does not mean what a «Non-​Professional» thinks it means. Ask what it means TO THEM!
In the long run, I received prompt, courteous service for just a little above the standard cost. So I will NOT complain about their service or their product! It’s a matter of a learning experience on my part … so learn by my mistake and ask exactly what will be done!
