Love this place! Always great service. Lots of beer choices on tap and draft. The chicken wings are awesome! And tonite FREE beer samples!

Ordered food here twice now, wanted to give my over priced not so good first experience an opportunity to correct itself & they outdid themselves (in a negative way) again. Irritated and unwilling to pay for this venue’s food again.

Just excellent food. The owners are so nice! I love this place, and the amazing hospitality. The interior is also really nice. I recommend the pretzel bites and the Taco Salad. YUM!

Barristers is a great sports pub and one of my favorite brunch spots bc you can rely on good food, a great Bloody Mary bar, and a fun atmosphere at a reasonable price in Clayton– which is hard to come by. However, I came here on a Thursday evening and had an absolutely terrible experience.
The pub was relatively empty with a couple people at the bar and maybe two tables. There were three waitresses that were either folding napkins or skillfully avoiding eye contact bc it took over 10 minutes for anyone to even greet us or give us a menu. If it wasn’t for past good experiences, I would have walked out. On top of that, one of the waitresses was loudly complaining about it being a slow night and how one of them should have been sent home by now. While the food was ok, the service was a complete disappointment and one that has me reconsidering Barristers in the future.

News owners have taken over and I must say there is much improvement. New décor, great atmosphere, and good food. I had the southwest chicken salad and it was very
good. All the ingredients were fresh. Our waitress was very good too. She was very friendly and noticed I had a cough, she brought me a cup of tea with honey. Would highly recommend this restaurant.

Nice sports bar. Service is slow. Bartender needs help. Food is above average. People are friendly.

I came here for dinner with my mom and sister on Sunday evening. The food, drinks, and atmosphere were very comforting and enjoyable. We started with the spinach and artichoke dip which was very fresh and tasty. My mom and I each had a burger which was also very fresh tasting and the quality of meat was wonderful. The burgers came with really yummy homemade chips. My sister had the fried raviolis and marinara sauce which were just as good. All around, we had a great experience and the owner and his wife are exceptional people who truly care about the quality of their food and the happiness of their customers. They have put a lot of work into this restaurant and it for sure pays off. We will be back!

For a bar, this place has a progressive, healthy menu. Fruit cup available instead of fries. Turkey burger on whole wheat bun. Hummus. Etc. happy hour prices were okay, nothing great. Our waitress was very patient and helpful. We were checked on at least 7 – 8 times during the relatively short meal. Would definitely go back if in the area!

The pretzel appetizer was delicious… especially the dips that came with. I also had the protein wrap which was a little dry, and the chips seemed a little stale. I’d eat here again for sure… there were a lot of other options to try and our waitress was very attentive and friendly! And those pretzels… yum!

Great place to post up and have a beer. They play soccer which is refreshing. Service is fine. Air conditioning works. Life is good. Prices are reasonable. Four stars.

We came here for a good lunch option and were really happy with the salads on the menu. They were substantial and inventive. We got the spinach salad with salmon and the house ranch salad. The salmon portion was a good size, but the salad/​dressing could have used some more flavor. We got the fried raviolis for an appetizer and they were awesome! We sat outdoors. All the tables had nice chairs and umbrellas. The server wasn’t so helpful, but her and the hostess were both nice. In addition, the bathroom was large, clean and nicely decorated.

Went here recently for lunch and had the Ultimate Veggie Match burger and it was above average. The atmosphere is a soccer sports bar that is very clean and looks like it would be great to go to for a happy hour to watch a match. This new space is slightly smaller than their old space (less than a block away) but the ambience is just as nice.

I met some friends for lunch at Barrister’s in Clayton. I found a nice, small restaurant and bar with a decent beer selection although we did not tap the brews on this day.
I had a cup of a daily special seafood bisque that was good and a Turkey Burger. The menu includes the basics that you would expect to find in a pub with a little more scope. They have a nice array of burgers and you can build your own. They also have other sandwiches to choose from. My Turkey Burger was fine, although a little dry. I would probably go for a build your own next time. The one that my friend had looked very good.
I think Barrister’s is somewhat of a local place. It is good to know about if you are in Clayton and need lunch or even a beer and bite in the evening. My experience was fine, absolutely no issues. I would need more exposure before adding a star, but don’t let that stop you.

I have been there for few gatherings and only had drinks so the rating is mainly for the service and their drinks. They have decent drinks and service is good. They place is relatively small but cozy.
Parking was hard and I would advice bringing some quarters since most parking lots around that area only accept coins.

Barrister’s is a solid Clayton bar to stop by for a drink with any sized group! They typically have more space available than similar options in the area and a better beer selection. It’s the perfect mix of neighborhood bar/​pub and sports bar.
I’ve been here a couple of times on different occasions and enjoyed my visit each time. It’s pretty easy to get bar service and plenty of real estate for my mateys. I have yet to come here for food but I’d imagine it’s not too shabby.
For now, Barrister’s is my go-​to bar for Clayton.

Sunday is brunch day many times in my house and today was no different. Dan and I decided to try Barristers for the first time after seeing they had a Make Your Own Bloody Mary Bar (Dan was very excited) and an interesting menu.
Since it was a Sunday we were able to meter park without paying so the walk to the restaurant was short. We were able to sit where we want so we found a table for two near the bar. I know this sounds strange but they had a coat rack which was so nice so we could put our coats somewhere else besides the back of the chair. Soccer memorabilia and whiskey theme décor made Barristers feel like a unique place to be.
Immediately we were greeted by our waitress and asked if we wanted drinks. Of course Dan took advantage of the Bloody Mar Bar which you pick your kind of vodka and whether you want salt and then the waitress brings you your glass with those items and you pick your mixers and do it yourself. Not in the mood for a Bloody Mary, I ordered a Bellini instead which was very tasty.
Perusing the menu and after much difficulty, I chose the Smoked Salmon Fritatta with five grain toast and Dan chose the Breakfast Burrito which came with breakfast potatoes. Our meal came quickly and was visually appealing. My fritatta was good though I did have to add some salt and pepper to give it a little more flavor but the toast was outstanding. I know you think «just toast» but their five grain toast is really incredible. Dan raved about his burrito though it was spicy so I didn’t try it and he ate all his potatoes so they must have been delicious!
We will definitely head back to Barristers and probably even try lunch sometime but they have their brunch down. Happy eating!

Barrister’s moved! How did i not hear of this? While we were looking for the old Barrister’s, we luckily passed the new one and stopped in for a drink on a Saturday afternoon.
Still a similar layout, shotgun style room with the bar inside on the right immediately upon walking in the door. The new location seems much cleaner and updated which is nice for everyone, staff and patrons.
I’ve always enjoyed their food, beer selection, and appetizer happy hour specials. If you’re a soccer fan, Barrister’s should be your go-​to if you’re in the Clayton area.

Been here twice and both times the buffalo chicken salad was awesome. Delicious dark lettuce in a creamy dressing of sorts with cucumbers and tomatoes, chunks of blue cheese, slices of chicken dipped in a somewhat hot and simple hot sauce, and croutons. The second time I thought about getting it again, then said to myself, «at least read the menu to see what else looks good.»
So I read it and other items that popped out were the fish tacos, buffalo chicken sandwich, beer cheese soup, BLT sandwich (B for brie) and the pub pretzels on the appetizer menu. Definitely wanted to try them too, but the salad was just calling my name. I think the thing holding me back from getting something else is that the sides didn’t sound all that exciting.
Oh well, no regrets. Maybe next time.

Stopped in on a rainy Saturday feeling pretty hung over and needing a little hair of the dog treatment and a full belly of food. JACKPOT! I always get fish tacos but I needed more grease, in steps the Barrister’s Pub Burger — perfect! I did get to try the shrimp tacos also, very good as well though they did come with wild rice which I despise but I can’t fault them for my companions bad taste in sides. And men. Yet there we were eating like royalty and sipping back ketel one ice picks and gearing up for round two. Oh the humanity, my poor liver. This is a great spot to watch a game and get your day drink on. Very good service as well. There were some families however no crying babies so I’ll allow it. I’ll be back.

Decent place to watch soccer, ok beer selection, food is very decent. But man the service is really lacking sorry to say. Not much friendliness or chattiness going on around here, it’s got all the pleasantness of a local DMV. Short and to the point are the servers and bar staff. What do you want? Will that be it? Did you decide?
Would be nice if they worked on that.

Meh. Service was just ok. Definitely not friendly. We popped in for some late afternoon beers and a snack. I want to say there are locals and regulars here, but it’s hard to tell.
The vibe and décor are mellow, and the beers are cold and the selection is good… it just doesn’t move me as a place.
Also the bathroom was kinda filthy and the toilet was black. Like black from the factory. Weird and gross. A filthy bathroom at 1 am is expected. A filthy bathroom at 6 pm is laziness.
Now don’t get me all wrong. It was enjoyable, the beer pretzels were Dericious, it’s just not the greatest place ever.

Barrister’s is a great little place to grab a drink with a friend or a casual dinner. I have been here for happy hour and also for dinner. The atmosphere of Barrister’s is decent. There is some soccer décor, but they didn’t take that theme to the extreme. The food is actually pretty good! I was extremely impressed with the goat cheese dip appetizer and the fish tacos that I had.
Barrister’s has a great draft beer selection. They have a lot of good local craft beers and some international taps, too. This and the happy hour special on well drinks makes it a pretty good place to gather with friends after work. There is something for everyone.
