History
Established in 1936.
Liehs & Steigerwald has been a local Butcher Shop and sausage maker in Syracuse since 1936. In 2003 we opened Liehs & Steigerwald North in Clay, NY. This location also has fully qualified meat cutters on-site, capable of custom cutting steaks, chops, roasts, fresh ground beef and fresh chicken. We also offer all of our homemade sausages as well as a full service deli. You can get a fresh deli sandwich, grilled reuben, homemade salads and more. We even offer a fish fry on Fridays.

Jeffrey S.
Business Owner
is the third generation owner and president of Liehs & Steigerwald. Jeff’s educational background is in Business. In 1992 he graduated with a BS in Accounting from the University of Delaware. He then spent several years working as an accountant in various parts of the country.
In 2011, Jeff completed the Small Business Administration E200 Emerging Leaders program in Syracuse.
Jeff grew up working in the business throughout high school and college summers and the pull of the family business was always resonating inside him. When Jeff’s father started eyeing retirement in early 2000, he decided to return to Syracuse to run the family business. Jeff’s passion for this business is stronger than ever and his entrepreneurial spirit combined with his business background and experience is constantly driving him to explore new opportunities within the food industry — always mindful of the fundamentals that have made the business what it is today.
