I stopped by this Clay City hotspot for lunch on a Saturday all by myself. I was shopping and between two towns and heard good things. This is a small neighborhood bar – the kind of place where you always feel at home. The service was friendly and quick and probably my favorite thing about my entire visit. When I walked outside, I ran into an employee or owner or somebody else who was super friendly as well. This kind of thing is what brings folks back, so keep up the great work! Gotta love it when a single woman is perfectly comfortable in a bar having a burger and a beer. That’s pretty cool, IMHO. The menu was varied – typical bar food fare of burgers and fries, wings, and fried cheese sticks of course, but they also had prime rib on the menu and feature other specials like fish or fried chicken. They had a burger with some sort of Jack Daniel’s sauce that looked pretty awesome, but sadly they were out of sauce so I just ordered a good ol’ mushroom and swiss burger and seasoned fries. Side note on side items – they had a TON of options. I gotta say that the fried zucchini was really tempting… The burger was juicy and perfectly cooked, even if it wasn’t anything terribly special. Don’t get me wrong – I didn’t dislike it at all. I ate every bite! But it was what appeared to be a frozen patty with lots of cheese and canned mushrooms. It was perfectly satisfactory, but I’m a tough Unilocal grader, so that’s only three stars by my count. Big kudos on the nice veggies served on the bun – good slices of purple onion and lettuce and tomato that give the sandwich a nice crunch and fresh flavor to offset the yummy cheese and beef. I hope to come back with friends next time and actually get the prime rib or one of their specials. I’d also like to hang out and listen to one of the bands that I know they feature on the weekends. Can’t wait to update my review with more information! Thanks for a nice lunch, gang!

Excellent food and service at a low price. Kentucky Bourbon wings were some of the best wings I’d ever had. The steak was tender and had good flavor. Best place to eat in Clay County.
