I haven’t gotten my hair cut in almost a year! I’ve bounced around from one hair stylist to the next and just haven’t been able to find someone that I absolutely love and that have reasonable prices.
I was so impressed with r. collective salon! It is beautifully decorated, and not cluttered with product advertisements. They offer you something to drink and for your first visit you fill out a small form of your detailed information. Then I met Trina, my hair stylist and she was so lovely. Such a nice girl and we chatted the whole time I was there. She explained exactly what she was going to do for my hair and how I can better take care of it. She explained some of the products she sells but I never felt pressured to buy anything. They sell a really cool curling wand that I may purchase at my next visit but I usually need to think about a product before I spend any money.
Places I’ve gone to in the past for a hair cut end up charging me an arm and a leg for a wash, blow dry and style but this place didn’t! I ended up spending only $ 45 for my hair cut and Trina even washed and styled my hair. It looked amazing! Now if only I could learn how to style it like she did! I’ll definitely be back for all my future hair cuts!

I’ve been getting my hair cut at R Collective for several months now. It’s time for a review and they certainly deserve one. Each event has been a pleasure. I have always received a warm and friendly greeting from the desk staff and have never waited to get my treatment started.
Sarah is always friendly and bright and wastes no time in handling my wash and cut. The environment is warm and relaxing. The results are great and the price is very reasonable. I give this place five stars and my sincere recommendation to Sarah.

If you’re looking to have the best hair cut and color, visit Jody. Jody has been my stylist for over 10 years and I always call him Edward Scissorhands cause he’s a master with the scissors. I get a ton of compliments on my hair and it’s all thanks to him.

I cannot tell you how many times someone has messed up my eyebrows, but a couple months ago, it was the last straw. One of my eyebrows was shorter than the other and she had made one thinner than the other. It was a diaster. After months of growing them out, I was nervous to let anyone else touch them to be quite frank. Brandi Gunn was amazing. Instead of the the typical big waxing straps and tweezing a few stray hairs, she took her time and tediously waxed with tiny strips, tweezed a couple hairs, and repeat. She took about a half an hour and I could tell she put a lot of pride into her work. My only issue is to do both my upper lip and eyebrows cost me about $ 40+ tip and that price is a bit steep to do every month since I’m a college student. I might just do my eyebrows next time. The quality is worth it I just wish I wasn’t so broke: (

I went for my second haircut I am so unhappy with it. When I said my bangs was short she said «lets hope your hair grows faster «For one thing she didn’t understand the nature of my hair .sure;y not going there again.

This place is amazing. Friendliest staff I’ve ever met. It was my daughters first ever haircut, she’s almost 8, they were very nice to her. She loved it there. Will definitely be taking her back there for her routine trims. If I wasn’t of the shaved head nature, I’d get mine cut there too lol.

This salon has been life changing for me. I had been going to the same stylist since I was young and had been looking for someplace new that could better express my personality. This is by far one of the most trendiest salon’s I’ve been to. If you don’t follow their Instagram, do it now. I have been seeing one of the new stylist, Jessica and she is wonderful! We always do something different, and she exceeds my expectations every time. Not only that, but she has introduced me to so many different products/​treatments that I never knew even existed before. I would recommend this salon to EVERYONE. The atmosphere is great, the salon is always beautiful, and when someplace makes you feel as great as this place does, you want the world to know!

I have been going to Tony for a few months now and could not be happier. I have gone to many high end salons over the last 30 years and can finally say that R. Collective feels like home. Tony has a natural talent for style, color and what suits the individual. From what I have seen during my visits Scott is equally talented. Their dedication to continuing education also impresses. The salon itself is quietly chic and unassuming, very cool really. Tony, Scott, and Alex at the front desk are friendly, accommodating, and professional but they are also a ton of fun to be around. I truly enjoy and look forward to my salon visits AND the musical selections/​conversation. I «almost» feel cool by association

I saw Tony for a haircut. I brought in a picture for reference and we talked about what I wanted. He gave me his feedback, went over my hair and discussed everything with me in detail the whole time. I really appreciate that he kept explaining the cut as we went along. My hair looks incredible, and I can honestly say this is the best haircut I have ever had, it looks way better than the picture I brought in. Tony is a sweetie, and detail oriented in cutting hair. It obvious how much pride he takes in what he does. I have a return appointment.:)

This place is the best in the business. Great atmosphere, customer service, prices and oh yeah, they do a fantastic job on your hair. Jody took his time and explained what he was he doing. Was not trying to rush me out and move onto the next. You will not be disappointed if you give this place a try, in fact you will become a loyal customer.

Decided to switch up my hair from long and boring to cute and sassy. Samantha did an amazing job of cutting my hair to exactly how I wanted it. I would definitely recommend making an appointment with her.

Amazing place! The wife needed a last minute cut and style before going out for the night so we stopped in here on a highly recommended referral from a friend. Being a man, I was bummed to be having to spend any time waiting for my wife to get her hair done in some salon. I was wrong… they had a plethora of beverages for me to choose from, good conversation from the owner, and I was able to watch whatever I wanted on tv. The wife was impressed with her hair cut and style as well. Win, win for everyone! If I didn’t shave my head, I would have sat down for a hair cut here as well!

r. collective hits all the right notes. Tony got my foil-​highlighted hair to a cool, icy platinum with no problem and kept the damage to a minimum.
Tony: I would tell you all sorts of amazing things about his passion for great color, how he gets genuinely excited by hair challenges, how he’s a freaking master at getting platinum toned right, how he never rushes the customer, plus that he is tons of fun to hang out with and blah blah blah… But he’s already busy, and I don’t want you getting in the way of my preferred appointment times. ;)
Products: There is a serious commitment to quality across the board, and that includes the products. My hair is platinum, but not broken. They sell Kevin Murphy products — if you don’t own any, start your new addiction with Young Again. Tony also introduced me to Wella hair masks, which help my tresses feel like a child’s plus smell amazing. My hair is both icy white & the best shape it has been in a long, long time.
Atmosphere: First, the staff: everyone is so friendly, and it feels authentic. The salon is also beautiful, bright, and very clean.
Location: There’s plenty of parking, plus it is FREE.

I recently moved to Michigan and I was in desperate need for a haircut. For the longest time, I wanted to chop of my long hair (it’s also really thick and curly) and sport a longer bob… but of course, do to that, I needed a good stylist who could understand how to cut my hair.
After reading through TONS of Unilocal reviews and looking into many salons in the area, I took the chance with R. Collective and booked an appointment with Amanda… and I am so happy that I did!
She was kind, fun, and most importantly, she’s incredibly talented. As I mentioned above, I have thick and curly hair. Anyone who has hair like mine understands how difficult it is to find someone who knows how to cut it well. So if you’re due for a haircut, I suggest going to R.Collective.
Oh…and the salon is beautiful, clean, and the products they use to shampoo/​style your hair is all so great and smells so amazing!

I have been going to Tony for 8 years and absolutely love the way he cuts/​colors my hair. I was forced to go to other salons in MI while attending college and usually ended up back in Tony’s chair having him fix a cut or color I was not happy with.
I always bring pictures to my appointments and Tony spends a ton of time talking with me and explaining options before picking up the scissors. He’s always happy to help fit me in around my crazy work schedule and I have referred my entire family, boyfriend, college friends and coworkers to him who have also become regulars.
I can’t say enough good things & hesitate to because I don’t want him to be booked until 2016 ;-)

Not only was Tony able to fit me into his insanely hectic schedule, he stayed open late for me and did an amazing job on my color, as always.
