History

Established in 1953.

In Dec of 1953, Vernon Jenkins and his friend, Briz Wynne, opened for business in Clarksville as a Lincoln-​Mercury dealer. Vernon Jenkins continued to work at the dealership until he retired in 1985 at the age 75. His work ethic was contagious. When he died in 2002, Vernon Jenkins left big shoes behind. He had been president of the Tennessee Automotive Association. He won the Time Magazine Dealer of the Year award for the state of Tennessee. The criteria for that award were highly ethical business practices and strong community involvement.

Jenkins & Wynne is the largest Ford Lincoln-​Mercury dealership in TN. The Ford franchise alone is the 281^th largest Ford dealer in the United States. Jenkins adds that as nice as awards and rankings are, the most meaningful «recognition» is the kind that happens between a customer and a member of the dealership’s staff. Business Owner

I have lived in Clarksville my whole life, except for attaining my degree from Murray State University. I started working at Jenkins and Wynne when I was 12. I have worked various jobs around the store to gain experience and knowledge.

Currently, I work in the Internet Dept and have since 2004. I love my job because no two days are the same. I like interacting with our community and customers. Knowing that I get the opportunity to help a customer find a vehicle that will suit them for years or help iron out a service problem.

I considered myself extremely blessed. I have a hands-​on job that makes a difference daily! I am 3^rd generation dealer at Jenkins and Wynne and am trying to sponge in all I can from my Jenkins and Wynne mentors. In my spare time, I enjoy running marathons and triathlons. My faith, daughter, and dog are greatly important to me!
