Bruce and his wife, Joy, kicked off their restaurant careers in 1969, when they opened Taco Time. Since then, Happy Day Restaurants has grown to 13 restaurants, a catering and event rental business and an event center. Bruce continues to be hands-​on and you’ll usually see him in one of the restaurants teaching, training, or even busing tables.

If you’re expecting «Mexican» you’ll be disappointed. If you just want tasty fast food (tots and cheese sauce for instance) then it’s pretty good.

I had to suppress an audible laugh when I moved here and asked around for dining recommendations, and this Taco Time kept getting listed. I thought it didn’t bode well for the area if a Taco Time was one of the go-​to eateries. But I kept an open mind, mostly because, to a person, they always followed it up with, «It’s not like any Taco Time you’ve ever been to.» And they were right. This place is great– fresh ingredients and every thing prepped daily; a fantastic salsa bar with a huge selection of salsas; hand made tortilla chips (the nachos are some of the best I’ve ever had at a restaurant). The atmosphere is incredible– kind of an industrial cantina vibe. Very clean, and a very friendly staff. Now I’M the one recommending it to out-​of-​towners, adding «It’s not like any other Taco Time, trust me!»

Fresh food fast and it is tasty. Mexican food and I would suggest trying the Mexi Fries, these tasty morsels are tator tots with cheese.
The crisp chicken burritos are my favorite.
They have a small breakfast menu.

Yummmmmm. Don’t each much fast food but I always have to stop into Taco Time when in Clarkston. By far the best location that I have ever been too, and the service this time was a bonus. Taco Bell pales in comparison.

This is by far the best taco time iv ever been too! the Happy Day corp. did a number on this one. the customer service is the above and beyond what is expected, the food was «prepared» not thrown together and the atmosphere is exceptional!

I think taco time is over priced so they lose a star. This one was one of the better ones that I’ve been to as far as food and service go. Plus they sell beer. This must be an Idaho thing.

For years a good friend hyped Taco Time. Living in Los Angeles, we do not have this tasty treat so when I made it to Clarkston earlier this summer this place was high on the list. I can see why, it’s freaking amazing. Higher quality than Taco Bell and better service, they even let me ring the bell. The fact they serve beer is also a nice touch.
So now I sit back here in Los Angeles and Del Taco just won’t do the trick. I miss you Taco Time, and I hope to make it back within your walls one day.

Best Taco Time in existence.
I normally don’t review chains, but every now and then there is an exception. This is one.
This Taco Time thinks it’s a deluxe little cantina, complete with beer and items not available at other taco times. The lobby is awesome, the whole place is spotless, the food is amazing and it even has a salsa bar with real salsa, peppers, ranch, yogurt ranch and Santa Fe ranch. Wow.
I got a Big Juan burrito and a crisp meat but I’ve also had nachos here. No matter what you get, you won’t believe it’s fast food.
Basically this franchisee took a national name and made it his own. All Taco Times should follow this model. I highly recommend.

This is just a neat restaurant. They’ve gone for the fun inside, and the food quality is extremely good for a fast food Mexican. They bring the food to you at your table. The staff are older and are all very nice. There is a play area for the kids outside (an old stagecoach).
