I go by Miss Del’s every time I do a tamale run to Clarksdale. Stopped in this weekend. Very nice charming store, and I guess it’s Miss Del behind the counter who is very sweet. They have some unusual treats here, definitely worth it to stop in if you’re in Clarksdale. I would caution other Unilocalers however, please check carefully info available on the items you are buying. This weekend there were certain pickles ½ price. Miss Del mentioned they had just gone out of date. Sorry Miss Del, but ‘2014’ was not yesterday, that was quite a while back. You should have thrown those out. On another visit, I bought 1 of the No Time to Cook pre done meals. Several weeks later, after heating it up, it turned out the entire middle of the casserole was burnt. Granted, Miss Del could not have know this. Just double check what you purchase.

Miss Dell’s is a true general store, absolutely. It also is pure entertainment/culture. When visiting you can either browse to heart’s content, or carry on conversations with the owner or other staff about anything from their beloved Clarksdale, to the backstory on many of the unique goods they carry. I’d been looking for an affordable pair of 14 or 18k gold hoop earrings. Got an awesome pair there, handcrafted and beautifully designed. A few Christmas decorations, some sweet-hot cranberries, homemade candy, lotions, creams — and after a next-door neighbor-like chat with the proprietor, left with a bottle of beer to drink while walking on my way back to Delta Cotton Apts. I think I may have tried on a pair of pajamas, a blouse — I’m not kidding! They have some of everything. A joyous little break to while away an hour without my traveling companions!

This place is fantastic. You can find just about anything you’re looking for here, and sifting through everything is a fun way to spend a couple of hours. Miss Del’s offers everything from books, jewelry, gardening supplies, antiques, art, records, and lots of great food. Their chocolate covered coffee beans were delicious.

The last time I stopped in was just after Sunflower Fest. There’s an amazing variety of everything from espresso to gifts to foods. Rings, bracelets, cheeses, teas, marinades, hunting boots… seriously, there’s a little bit of everything in this wonderful old feed store! If you’re in town stop by and check them out!

Someone gave us directions and said that you can buy anything you want at Miss Dels. That just might possibly be true. I only bought some snacks and a green tea, but that was all I wanted. Quaint store in a quaint town.

Miss Dell’s is a bastion of funky country civility in the heart of blues country. The range is eclectic(deliberately so). Among the odd things I’ve bought there– a copy of Rising Tide, a jar of Nutella, a western-style shirt, and several lattes. I’ve also seen live blues out front and had great conversations with everyone who works there. If you go to Clarksdale, stop in at Miss Dell’s. You’ll thank me. It’s right across from the library, in the old Feed Store building.
