High Point Events is a full-​service catering and event planning company serving the Central Maryland, Washington D.C. and Northern Virginia areas. Whether for a formal wedding or a fun company picnic or a dignified funeral reception — in fact, anything from black tie to barbecue — we cook on site whenever possible, ensuring you the freshest, hottest food. We offer personalized consultation on menus, event planning, location selection, equipment rentals, and overall presentation.

In addition to our extensive catering menu options, our Express menu offers an assortment of breakfast, lunch, dinner or break items delivered right to your office to best meet the needs of our corporate clients. We even have a Disaster Catering Division, which supports first responders and others at times of local disasters.

High Point Events also owns and operates High Point Farms, the largest outdoor event facility in Maryland, just twenty minutes from the Beltway in Montgomery County. We offer six event sites to rent, individually or in groups, each with its own parking area, pavilion, play area, and amenities.

History

Established in 1971.

In 1971 William Sr. and Grace Egan founded Egan Barbecuers in Rockville. Bob and Christine Egan purchased the company in 1996, eventually buying a 150-​acre Clarksburg farm and renaming it High Point Farm. The company continued with its emphasis on barbecue but also expanded to offer other kinds of on-​site catering at the Farm and throughout its Northern VA — Central MD — Washington DC service area. Eventually, the company expanded to include an Express Division, which provides drop-​off catering, and a Disaster Services division to provide catering and logistical support to crews dealing with natural and man-​made disasters. By its 40th anniversary in 2011, High Point was a year-​round company, catering formal weddings, company picnics… and everything in between. In 2013, the company name was changed to High Point Events in recognition of its expanded event-​planning services. As owner Bob Egan likes to say, High Point Events now serves 10 to 10,000 clients, from black tie to BBQ.

Bob Egan and his wife Christine Egan have owned this Clarksburg-​based catering and event planning company since 1996. Bob is company president as well as an active sales rep. He is nationally recognized as an expert in staging outdoor events and has deep ties to the Montgomery County business community.
