The Village Mutt

The Village Mutt is a wonderful, welcoming place where both you and your dog will feel comfortable… and clean! I love that they have little aprons and stools so that kids can join in the fun and be involved in caring for their pet. April is super helpful, knowledgeable and clearly cares deeply for both her four-​legged and two-​legged customers! We started out just coming in for baths and then began buying better quality food/​treats for our dogs and now sometimes we just stop in and say hi to April and get some love from Dudley and Penny, the four-​legged greeters. :)

Don’t get the rave reviews… or must have been a bad day for her… but the gal behind the counter was not friendly at all. She talked down to us, like she was superior. We didn’t feel comfortable there. Won’t be bringing my dogs here anytime soon.

Went in to check out what they are all about. April was unbelievably helpful and patient with my questions. Good selection of premium dog products. Highly recommend anyone with a dog check this place out.

Had such a great experience at The Village Mutt today. The owner was so sweet and helpful while I chose my sweet Bella’s dog food. Probably the best customer service I have received. We will definitely be going back!!!

Really cool little place — Took the stinky poodle to Village Mutt and had a great 1^st experience. For this visit we had April (owner) handle the wash/​dry for us. Our poodle seemed to enjoy her time and had fun with April and her energetic Lab Penny. There’s a great selection of pet foods, treats and toys. Next time we’ll do the wash/​dry ourselves and I’ll provide feedback on that experience afterward.

I love this place. The owner is so helpful and kind and you can spend as much time as you want washing and cleaning your dog. Awesome place and of course, very dog friendly!
My lab recently lost her daddy and best friend and was very anxious, coupled with she was shedding horrifically from her anxiety. The owner was so sweet and kind to her and recommended a couple products that were amazing. She looks and feels so much better! A happy dog is a happy home!

This is a great Groomers! They also have Non-​Anesthetic Teeth cleaning once a month with a Vet. Its very low cost and they do an awesome job!

April is awesome and the Village Mutt supplies my pup with high quality food and supplements along with a great set up to bath a large doggie. Customer service is the best.

This place is great! Donny was a great help. My dog gets nervous with baths and water, so he gave us some lavender oil to help her calm down. He also recommended some shampoo for her dry skin and helped us with the dryer.
The pup seems to like it more than being hosed down in the yard (I can’t blame her) and it’s a lot easier for me too because the bathtubs are elevated.

How fun is washing your dog at The Village Mutt! Donnie and April were so helpful and calming during my puppy’s first bath. Not to mention the great smelling natural products – thank you, Lincoln and I will see you again soon!

I LOVE the Village Mutt! I started using their self service dog wash a couple months ago and they have always been great — but yesterday they truly went above and beyond when I scheduled a bath for our newest dog, Phoenix, who was just recently released from an animal testing laboratory. Phoenix is extremely scared of new environments and new people and I wasn’t quite ready to bathe him myself yet since I am still gaining his trust. The owner, April, was kind, gentle, and caring while bathing him. She was truly invested in not only making him clean and comfortable, but in his health and well-​being too. She recommended some great holistic products to help Phoenix in his adjustment to life outside the laboratory. April truly went above and beyond for Phoenix and I am so grateful. Thank you Village Mutt!!!

Puppy and I were both a little nervous but was soon at ease. Abbie, I believe that is her name, was so sweet. She is very kind and loving with your furbabies. I agree with a previous reviewer who noted what a welcoming environment Village Mutt is.
I’m very happy with the customer service and the products. Puppy smells great now and her fur is extra soft, silky, shiny, and of course clean.
FYI: it’s a place for your pet to get a nice bath and cute yummy cookies and stuff, but not for any fur trims or nail grinds, etc. (aka grooming)
Reasonable price and a nice treat between grooming. My puppy gets stinky kinda quick. Also I didn’t really look around, so I’m not sure what other products they offer. Just that whatever was used is very pleasant smelling and works great.
My pup met an adorable fellow there. He is so friendly, the nicest lab. At least I think he’s a lab. They became friends pretty quickly.

Took our two labs to The Village Mutt just to try it out, we were greeted the moment we walked in by the staff and we went to a private room where we could let one dog roam while we bathed the other. Great service! They supplied everything. Gave us helpful tips, and answered all our questions! The girls even posed for some pictures during their beauty treatment! We will be back! Excellent experience! Great meeting and talking with the owner April!

Love this place! I have a border collie mix and she’s a handful when bathing at home. I love that the tubs are leveled without bending down. And… no clean up! Win win ;) the owner is a sweetheart! Tried it out with an amazon deal, but I will definitely come back now on regular basis.

Natural pet products. Amazing owner. She’s a pet lover !!! Great toys, food, care supplies, and pet grooming products. A mom and pop shop in Claremont. Hand’s down, it beats any big box Pet Shop any day.

I love this place! I immediately felt welcomed by the owner and she made sure my dog felt comfortable as well. She showed me to a tub and explained how everything worked then left me to wash my dog, checking back on us occasionally.
The shampoos offered are great and smell SO good! My dog, Kelly, loved her bath especially the blue comb that massaged the shampoo into her coat.
I would recommend this place to anyone and will definitely be back. And I’m sure Kelly will be happy to have a proper bath instead of a hosing off in the backyard lol

The Village Mutt is clean, friendly, and well stocked with wholesome and high quality dog washing products.
If you’ve never washed your pet, well, it’s fun for the whole family.
We picked up a clove-​based comb-​through anti-​flea spray here and knocked down a flea flare-​up w/​o the use of petrochemicals. This involved regular application of spray, use of flea combs, and a slightly clove scented Malinois. Happiness for all.

This is an amazing store! They sell all sorts of recycled, hand-​made products, and have affordable prices. I would greatly recommend everybody to Village Mutt. The owner, April, is very helpful and you can tell that she really cares for the dogs that come in. I will be a regular customer for her, that’s for sure!
