Business Owner

Amber Jillian has been in the animal industry for over 10 years. Managing veterinary hospitals, in Banfield Pet Hospital’s field and corporate office, in PetSmart store management, and most recently in store operations for a whole-​diet dog food company, specializing in premium nutrition. Struggling with the challenges of the current pet service industry, she was determined to start a movement and company that would redefine pet service. Amber’s family consists of a Weimaraner (Toby), a German Shorthaired Pointer (Heidi), a tuxedo cat (Monkey).

I did not end up using services yet, but I wanted to leave a review because of how accommodating, prompt, and friendly Dondi was during my last minute search for someone to help care for my dog over a holiday weekend. She scheduled a morning meeting the next day and my normally shy dog took to her right away.

Our experience with Pet Service Solutions was fantastic! Not a phrase I use lightly regarding pet care. After working as a caregiver at an animal sanctuary for 7 years, a PALS homeless pet center caregiver for 2 years and as a pet owner my entire life, I was very careful with who my fiancé and I left our 10 week old kitten with. We had just rescued the kitten two weeks before and while we didn’t want to leave him so soon, our preplanned Thanksgiving holiday trip was upon us. I searched for several days looking for a professional company that would come to our house and take care of Hawkeye three times a day and not break our bank. Pet Service Solutions had it all. Professionalism. Experience. A direct connection to our personal veterinarian. And on top of that, they would send us photos and updates via text message during every visit. Sarah was assigned to Hawkeye from PSS and she was incredible! She sent us fun and comforting text messages throughout the day, spent a good amount of time playing with Hawkeye and kept him company. She also cleaned the litter box once a day, gave him fresh water every day and fed him three times a day. She was professional, caring and on point. We will book PSS for future trips.

Personal and yet very professional service. For years, our dog, a 12 year old Vizsla, loved her boarding place, but as she got older the it was stressful for her to be out of her home environment. Looking for alternatives, we found PSS on Unilocal.When we are out of town, our pet is so much more relaxed and happy at home and she loves Dondi. It is also reassuring that someone we trust visits our home daily. Although at first I was leery of having someone visit our home, and also concerned about having our dog alone for periods of time, I am delighted with PSS. Highly recommended!

We feel so lucky to have found Pet Service Solutions. Due to my job, we usually have to wait until the last minute to plan trips out of town. Finding pet care has always been a big stress, and a few times we have come up short in finding someone. However, PSS has always been willing to accommodate us at the last minute, even on holidays. We also love the fact that they check in with us to reassure us that our four-​legged family members are doing great. Thanks PSS!

After contacting Amber one week before Christmas, she and Dondi graciously agreed to watch our two cats and dog while we traveled for the holidays. We couldn’t be more pleased with the care that they provided to our «babies» and for their consideration in monitoring the mail and deliveries. We loved the pictures that we got (they even managed to get a snapshot of our «anti-​social» kitty) and especially appreciated the daily updates. Having Pet Service Solutions take care of our beloved family members made our trip so much more enjoyable and relaxing. Thank you for giving us peace of mind on our Christmas vacation!

We couldn’t be more pleased with the service that Amber and Dondi provided for our pet family while we were away for the holidays. We previously had less than great experiences with boarding our first dog (he always came back sick) and now that we have 2 dogs and a cat, the thought of boarding them all at a very high cost was not attractive at all but we thought that was our only choice… until my husband found Pet Service Solutions. Even on short notice, they came and did a thorough interview with us and our pets, learned everything about their schedules and temperaments and my pets took to them immediately. Their prices are extremely reasonable, they made us feel totally at ease with having them in our home and we felt very comfortable that our pets would be well taken care of.
And they were! We received adorable pictures and fun update text messages each time Amber or Dondi visited. Our pets always looked happy and loved which is exactly what we hoped for. We could tell that they were looking forward to their visits from their new friends. We returned home to our house being in order and comfortable (Dondi even turned the heat on so it was comfy and cozy despite the 35 degree temperature outside) and to healthy and happy pets that were excited to see us. Amber and Dondi really provided us that peace of mind to be able to enjoy our first ever family vacation without worrying about the well-​being of our fur family. Pet Service Solutions has gained a loyal new customer and we can’t wait to refer them to our friends and neighbors.

Dondi and Kayla were fantastic, you just know that they care about animals and enjoy what they do. We left our two needy, yet playful cats in their care for four days, we received pictures and updates each day with proof that they were both calm, comfortable, and happy! One cat needs Prozac daily (for spraying and stress) and both are incredibly needy for cuddles and attention, one night left alone and they are frantic when we get home but all was well after four days with the help of these ladies! Every detail was taken care of, even hand cleaning our tiny (annoying) wet food containers! If you are looking for friendly yet professional attentive care look no further. Cannot be more relieved we have them to help us.

We have 2 attention loving Rat Terriers that need to be walked daily and love to cuddle with their people, or anyone who’ll have them really. One of our dogs has seizures and the other is anxious as all get out so I have never wanted to have to board them & have made it 9 years without doing so.
My family just recently relocated from Washington state to southern California. We have never had to use a pet sitter or walker before, family was always willing to help out. It is a worrisome thing to leave not just your pet (s), but your home open to someone else.
I found PSS on Unilocal and their reviews were stellar so I figured we’d check them out. Amber & Dondi came to my home to meet with me and the boys. They were very professional and friendly and I felt much more at ease with the idea of using their service by the time they left.
We recently went home for a long weekend and Dondi walked our boys for us during that time. She was great about sending us pictures of them out on their walks which helped us know they were being taken care of and doing just fine. When we returned home they were happy to see us but they were also content, they weren’t stressed, you could tell they’d felt that someone was there for them.
We have already set up a combination of walks & overnights for a longer trip in the future & will enjoy our time away knowing that our fur babies will be well cared for.

My wife and I take a week vacation once a year. When we do, we do not want to worry if our cat, Madison, will survive the week in a kennel box.
On two occasions we have relied on Amber w Pet Service Solutions and we are more than pleased. Beyond visiting our home to feed and care for Madison, I receive text pictures of Madie being played w during the week. Upon returning home, she is her normal happy healthy self.
The little extra details PSS offers are great; bringing in our mail/​packages, watering plants, and checking on our home. To know our home is being checked daily allowed us to relax.
Although just back from vacation, we are looking forward to next years trip. We will definitely be calling Amber again when the time comes.

Amber takes great care of my cat, Bruce. The service is reliable, I get texts before I have a trip scheduled to confirm dates, she sends texts with pictures of Bruce when I am gone, and when I get back I don’t get the kitty cold shoulder that I used to get when I would leave Bruce. He gets enough attention from her daily visits that he is a happy guy when I return, which is all I can ask for. I think the prices are very reasonable for the services. I have ended up traveling more in the last year than I thought I would but I haven’t had to worry about Bruce during all of this because the quality of pet care being received. Highly, highly recommended!

Dondi is the best! White paw was very happy upon our return, he purred for a long time (unlike when being put in boarding facilities). The house was clean, mail organized. Thanks for taking care of our boy and our house. We highly recommend them: good people, great communication (received pictures and texts regularly), and reliable service.

Amber and Sarah are amazing! We have used them several times to watch our 2 cats while we are gone for weekend trips and for a week at a time due to extended holidays/​work. One of our cats has diabetes and Sarah is very diligent in providing him his insulin injections (and love) every 12 hours. We get daily pictures and updates. They play, get loved on, and are taken care of just as I would care for them if I were home.
Additionally, they go above and beyond. Eddy, my diabetic, had an episode where he needed emergency veterinary care. My car was being serviced and I was unable to provide the transportation myself. Sarah came and picked us up and took us to the emergency vet so that Eddy could get the care he needed. I fully believe that Eddy wouldn’t have made it if weren’t for Sarah, as he was admitted with a blood sugar count of 39.
Amber and Sarah are incredible. I cannot say enough about how wonderful they are with my babies. I know that when I’m away Eddy and Jazzy will be provided the best of care and love. I’m truly grateful for the reliable, consistent, and caring services that they provide. Thank you!

They’re very communicative, which was important to us, as we’d never left our cats in the care of a sitter. Will definitely use them again and would recommend them to family and friends.

I traveled from Florida to California and bought a 7 week old golden retriever. Dondi took care of him for 5 weeks and I can honestly say that she was the best dog walker ever. (I had a dog walker before Dondi didn’t work out) When I first met her she was very professional and took down important information about my puppy, as she continued to visit our puppy every now and then she’d bring a cute little treat for him, she also helped me out whenever I had questions on how to take care of him (first pet). I ended up moving a little further out of their service range but yet they made it possible for Cali, which was greatly appreciated because it’s hard finding a good caring and loving dog walker who truly shows that they enjoy what they do. I absolutely would recommend pss to anyone also what I loved about them was their extra services! Such as grooming your pet or taking them out if needed to. She also keeps up to date with pictures. This is a great team and great service! I thank you Dondi and Amber so much for your help!

We would never leave our pets with just someone we found on the internet; but last December we were stuck. We found Pet Service Solutions, interviewed Amber, and took a risk. WE COULDN’T BE HAPPIER! The folks at Pet Service Solutions are professional and loving. Great for a drop-​in, trust worthy for overnight stays. They love animals and treat them as family. We’ve used them several more times since then. Here’s just one great example of their service: We had just started one of our dogs on a new medication before leaving on a trip. While we were away, Amber (a former vet tech) recognized a bad reaction to one of the drugs, let us know, called our vet, got a replacement prescription, and started him on it. Happy dog. Happy family. And she sends professional-​quality photos to us of each of the pets each day while we’re away. I wish this rating system allowed for 10 stars!
