The office of Nicholas Gih, D.D.S. was established to provide comprehensive dental care with a personal approach to Claremont and the surrounding communities. Our entire team is dedicated to providing you with the gentle dental care that you deserve.

Business Owner

Nicholas Gih, D.D.S was born and raised in the San Fernando Valley, here in southern California. After graduating from Granada Hills High School, Dr. Gih completed his Bachelor’s of Science in Biological Sciences at the University of California, Irvine. He then went on to the University of Southern California (USC) School of Dentistry where he received his Doctor of Dental Surgery degree.

After graduating from USC, Dr. Gih served as a Dental Officer in the United States Army for four years. During his time in the Army he was primarily stationed at Fort Polk, Louisiana but was also deployed to Afghanistan in support of Operation Enduring Freedom. He is very grateful and fortunate to have had an opportunity to serve his country and the men and women of the armed forces.

Dr. Gih is highly skilled and passionate in all aspects of general, restorative, cosmetic, and family dentistry. He has a great personality and listens well.

This office is great! Being in the dental industry as a hygienist I’m always weary about trying new doctors for myself. I’ve seen many offices treat patients like numbers but Dr. Gih’s office really cared about what I needed and treated me accordingly. The front desk staff is friendly and there’s no dreaded need for a long wait in the lobby as long as you have an appointment. It’s really CLEAN and organized which I appreciate especially after interning in some cluttered offices in the past. Dr. Gih has a gentle approach and hand technique. He explains everything thoroughly and makes sure you understand all your options so that you can make an informed decision for treatment. You won’t leave this place feeling like you made the wrong choice for your dental health needs.

Honestly it’s hard to find a reliable and skilled dentist that I frequently go back to. I don’t usually like going to dentists, but Dr. Gih and his staff make the entire process smooth and painless. His practice accepted my insurance. He is attentive to what your needs are and doesn’t push unnecessary or unneeded procedures on you. As a patient, he makes time for you and really makes sure you get what you need. The dedication he has to providing dental care is amazing, and I would definitely recommend him to people, which I already have. There are many dentists closer to where I live, but it’s hit or miss with them and many of them have dentists on a rotating basis. Dr. Gih has always consistently given me a positive experience!

Dr. Gih was amazing. I really hate going to the dentist but he makes you feel really relaxed and before you know it, you’re done! I drove all the way from Vegas to get my teeth examined by Dr. Gih because I heard he was a good doctor and didn’t pressure you into buying stuff you don’t need. I’ve been to plenty of dentists who make you feel horrible about your teeth so they can sell you things you think you need. Here, Dr. Gih was honest and forthright with his recommendation. I highly recommend Dr. Gih to anyone because he’s great and his staff is so professional and courteous.

I have never really had a permanent dentist. I just hopped around to whomever was convenient and/​or close by. I was referred to Dr. Gih by a close friend and I believe I have found my permanent dentist. His office gladly accepted my insurance offered through my employer.
He was able to spot some prior dental work that was done poorly and corrected the issues with ease. Dr. Gih has gentle hands and I felt completely comfortable throughout the time spent on the chair. I highly recommend him and will definitely be returning for my next check up!

Such a great dental practice. Dr Gih is very knowledgeable and super patient. He and the receptionist made me feel completely at ease and treated me like I’ve been going there for years. I look forward to coming back in six months for my next cleaning! Love this place!

drove out from pasadena for an overdue cleaning last may. dr. gih was recommended by a friend. having nothing but mediocre experiences with other dentists, i figured it couldn’t hurt to try someone new.
dr. gih did a great job, even correcting an issue with an old filling. friendly, attentive, great bedside manner and answered all of my questions.
i’ll be coming back in november for my next cleaning.

I have been seeing Dr. Gih for a little over a year now, and my teeth have never looked better!
Even though I moved to San Francisco recently, I still drive the 400 miles to see him. I have been patients of several different dentists since I was young, but Dr. Gih quickly became my favorite. He is careful and gentle, and always asks if I am doing okay. Plus, he remembers my name when I go in, and doesn’t need to look at my «chart» to remember!
I would also point out, he is always on time, and I rarely (if ever) have to wait to see him.
I have had other dentists in the past where you show up for your 1pm appointment and you end up waiting around until 1:30pm. Annoying!

I am a student who does not currently have dental insurance so I did a little shopping around until I found a Dentist who I believed would be fairly priced and took advantage of the Unilocal deal.
All of the staff have a very strong service-​orientation, all the way from Dr. Gih down through the hygienists and reception staff. I’m not particularly picky about my dentists, but at the same time I’ve had a few horror stories that have scarred me from my childhood. Upon my arrival, I received x-​rays and and a thorough cleaning as well as a very transparent conversation with Dr. Gih about the most cost effective way to go about taking care of my intolerable toothache. Turns out I needed a root canal. OUCH!
Though the procedure was inevitably expensive, it was still significantly cheaper than other dental offices in the area (about $ 300 less). Dr. Gih handled the procedure with extreme care and talked me through the entire procedure, which is nice considering that some dentists in the past have just drilled away at my teeth with no warning.
All in all I would recommend Dr. Gih for his excellent customer service, transparency and precision.

Hadn’t been to the dentist in… too long. The team here was great: explained everything really well, introduced me to everyone, and were mindful of my concerns. I actually only left with a couple cavities and I will be coming back to get them filled. Dr. Gih is definitely my new dentist. :)

Was referred here by family. Despite the long drive to the office from my house I think the visit was worth it. Maria the receptionist/​assistant was very friendly and had a genuine interest in making sure I felt welcome. Dr. Gih did my cleaning and explained the process and chatted with me throughout the visit. It made me feel like I’ve known him for years. I would recommend Dr, Gih for anyone looking to switch dentists or just get a general check up. I felt like I was valued as a patient and taken care of.

This review is long overdue. I’ve been looking for a good dentist for a while now. My usual dentist is in SF so the trek up there is a little too far for me these days. With that said, I dread looking for a new dentist. One of my friends referred me to Dr. Gih. I was told his practice is new, but that he’s been a dentist for the army for a few years. I was a little hesitant to go in, but I really needed a check up and cleaning.
To my surprise, this former army dentist is really gentle and thorough! I love dentists that can get the job done without hurting me in the process. The office staff was really nice and professional as well. It didn’t take them very long to process my insurance. Everyone is very organized and welcoming, which is what I look for in a dental office. Thank you, Dr. Gih!

amazing experience at this new quaint dental office! The customer service from the front desk to the assistant was awesome. Located close to the Claremont Village.
Dr. Gih was extremely competent and took the time to explain to me things. I got my exam, xrays and cleaning done all i one appointment. My hygienist Kim did a great job and the whole experience was personable and made my experience extremely pleasant!
Hard to find a good dentist, I would give this one a shot and you won’t go back to your other one ;)

Dr. Gih has great credentials and is a good dentist. He went to UC Irvine and USC. He was also dentist in the Army, so I’m very happy to be giving him my business.
As a dentist, he has a surprisingly gentle and delicate touch. He did some work that I’ve had done in the past, but this time, I barely noticed it with him. I definitely see him as my long term dentist, mainly for this reason. I know I’ll need more work as I get older!

I went to Dr. Gih for a routine checkup and cleaning. I’ve had bad experiences with dentists in the past, especially when it comes to unnecessary procedures. Dr. Gih is really up front and honest about what he is doing and why. You can tell he cares about his patients, and isn’t just in it for the money. He really takes time to know his patients.
My overall experience was very positive! The staff was also very friendly and professional. The office doesn’t look high end, but everything was clean. Most important, I don’t dread going to the dentist now!

I was visiting SoCal and had completely chipped my tooth. This was the first time this has EVER happened to me. I was so embarrassed. Luckily my friends who live in SoCal were referred to Dr. Gih. They loved him and his staff! I was able to call in and get a quick appointment time.
The office was clean and I was happily greeted. Most importantly: how did my tooth come out? PERFECT. It looks as though I didn’t even chip my tooth. The process took 30 min or so. I was able to get in and get out and enjoy the rest of my vacay.

I was looking for a new dentist in the area and came across Dr Gih. His practice is near a part of Claremont that holds charming little boutiques and lots of places to eat.
I went for a general check and cleaning. Dr gih was very professional and approachable. The hygienist was very friendly and thorough. They were really careful that I didn’t feel any pain at all throughout the check up.
