I moved to Happy Valley 5 years ago — I am not a year-around tanner, but like to tan a little in the Spring & before vacations. I like the location and price of tanning at Sunrise tan, but after 4 years of spending $ 300+ a year at this salon, I quit. After 4 years of regualr tanning, the receptionist was still unable to remember my name– even if I had been there 3 times that week! This was a thorn in my side, but I overlooked it because the other tanning salons in the area were considerably more expensive. I won a «Sunrise Salon» basket at my children’s school carnival in November of 2010– awsome basket with product, blow dryer, straightner, and several gift certificates – one for a facial, one for a haircut, and one for tanning.(this was a donation from the salon– they got to write it off!!) I took the tanning gift certificate in April 7th to redeem with my purchase of a month-long package. The receptionist did not remember me(shocker) — and she pointed out that the gift-certificates had expired April 1 – (as a business owner, i would never donate gift certificates that expired in 6 months– I believe a year is fair, and I ALWAYS honor even past expiration– it’s just good business!!) she agreed to give me 3 free tans(not the 10 that were on the face of the gift certificate) – I accepted my three free tans, then went up the street and started spending my money at a different salon– Not only will I never be back, but I told this story to my running group, and most of them will never go there.. .and now I am telling you!
