Harmony Road Music Center in Clackamas, Oregon specializes in early childhood music education and offers music/​piano classes for all ages and skill levels.

We have music and movement classes for toddlers and pre-​schoolers — ages 18 months to 4.

We have group piano classes for beginning students — ages 4 ½ to 11 or 12; teens and adults.

All teachers are certified to teach the Harmony Road method. Most have music-​related undergraduate degrees and several have master degrees. All are excellent pianists and teachers.

Our unique multi-​sensory approach to music education includes singing, ear training, rhythm, piano playing, theory, note reading & writing, improvisation, ensemble and solo performing. Parents are an integral part of our teaching process. They attend (& participate) in their students’ classes and supervise home practice.

After graduating from our basic, age-​appropriate programs, students are encouraged to continue their education with our advanced Keyboard Musician Program. Graduates of this program continue their studies in group piano classes. They have the option in participating at the Oregon Federated Music Festival and selected Oregon Music Teacher Association events.

Summer programs include Jr. Arts & Crafts Camps, introductory piano classes and specialty classes.

History

Established in 1981.

Harmony Road Music Center of Oregon is one of several hundred world-​wide schools that uses the Harmony Road Music Courses method.

This method, created by Oregonian Jan Keyser, has been used for over 25 years to teach music to thousands of children. Ms. Keyser continues to train and certify Harmony Road teachers, most recently in China.

The school has been in it’s present location since 1998.
