Spa Renaissance

Went around 8:40 Monday night with Groupon deal. I like the fact there were not too many people and you could take your time.
2 shower sections; standing and sitting. Steam room, sauna room, 3 pools; Jacuzzi, warm, cold. Then coed area with a salt room and a clay room to sweat more or just relax in the lounge.
Would go back again if there is a deal. Regular admission is at $ 25.00 per person.

I always see a Groupon for this place — its like $ 12 for day entry which includes sauna, steam room, hot tubs, cold tubs, jacuzzi, salt room and clay room. I was always hesitant to purchase it since there are so many mixed reviews on Unilocal but finally decided to come here with my GF. We read this is a small place so we came here early to avoid too many people.
We were greeted upon entering and were given clothes, towel and our locker key. Of course, there is a separate mens and womens changing/​bathroom. Inside each bathroom, there is the sauna, steam room, hot tubs, cold tubs and jacuzzi as well as the showers. Please be aware that this area is not co-​ed and you have to be naked… like bare ass naked. Anyway, all amenities were clean since it was early I was the only one. But little by little more people started showing up. I like that shampoo, soap. lotion and everything you will need to get sparkling clean is already provided.
Outside the changing/​bathroom is the co-​ed area where there are some couches and a TV where people just lay and chill. The salt room and clay room are also there. Since this is the co-​ed area, you will have to wear the clothes they gave you.
Overall, my GF and I enjoyed the visit and will probably be back!

I am writing this review while I am actually getting a massage here. The massage is a joke and employees are so loud. Blowing their nose… Chatting across the hallway while they know customers are in their massage session. I can’t believe I just wasted 1 hr of my life… can’t relax at all

I truly enjoy this spa, close to home and affordable! The employees are very kind and always greet you with a smile.

I feel like the quality of this place has gone down over the years. In the future, I’m more likely to try a different spa due to my last experience. I used a groupon for me and a client and we also got foot massages which were discounted $ 5 because of the groupon.
The hot rooms are nice because there are not that many people who come here so it’s nice when I was able to get a room all to myself. The women’s locker room is clean in my opinion. The one thing that I absolutely did NOT LIKE was that there was a tile in the jaccuzi that was slightly lifted. It wasn’t placed properly when it was built so I cut myself. I cut myself in a past visit but I didn’t think much of it. It wasn’t until I cut myself AGAIN that I remembered and then realized that it has probably cut so many other women too. This is NOT safe or sanitary!
Next unhappy experience = FOOT MASSAGES. The massage itself was okay but if I’m paying for a 1 hour massage, I expect a 1 hour massage but it was only 40 minutes. My client’s was 45 minutes. And during the massage, the two masseuse were gossiping about someone. VERY LOUDLY. I understand Chinese somewhat so the only part I got was «Oooh. nooo. I don’t give a sh** about her!» They didn’t speak a lick of English so how were we suppose to tell them to be quiet? I did let the front desk know and they were really sweet and apologetic. They said the manager would call me when he gets in but that never happened. So BE CAREFUL! If you DO get a foot massage here or any massage, check the time and make sure you are getting what you paid for.
As for me, I’m trying out Diamond Family Spa in the future and taking all my clients there. I’ve been there once and remembered it being bigger but just in a weird warehouse location. Hopefully I like it better. :)

It’s my first Korean spa experience and I had a really great time! I bought the Groupon deal and decided to go on Saturday morning since my Groupon is going to expire in a month. I was a bit worried before going because a lot of people said that this place is dirty and unsanitary. Since we went on Saturday morning there wasn’t too many people in the spa.
You check in at front desk and they will provide two towels and a uniform for you to wear at coed area. In women and men sections, there are one Jacuzzi, one half body hot pool, one cold pool, dry spa and steam room. Be ready that everyone will be butt naked! Everyone looks super natural to be naked so I didn’t feel uncomfortable to show my belly. In order to maintain the pool clean, you will need to shower before going to pool. They even have different kinds of showers station include standing and sit down. I love the smell of their body wash, it has this floral scent and refreshing smell. Their steam room and spa have this herbal smell that totally brought me to different relaxation level. Everywhere was actually super clean, not sure about what it will be later but it was super clean in the morning. They provide hair dryer, Q-​tips, lotion and even free coffee and water. In the coed section, there are bunch massage chairs and TV. There are also Taiwanese restaurants, red clay room and salt room in the coed section. The down side of this place is that both red clay room and salt room are super small, it might be crowded during busy hours. I swear it was the best feeling ever lying down on the massage chair after spa and Jacuzzi. I can see myself rest in coed area the whole day. They also have free cucumber water and snacks for customers. When we walked out of the spa, our skin were super clean and smooth and we felt super relaxed.

This place has a very weird layout. I went with my bf and when we came in, we had to go through the usual «separate entrance» according to your gender. Fine. In the area where I was supposed to leave my shoes, I noticed that half of these shoe lockers don’t even lock! But I proceeded to set my shoes inside the shoe locker assigned to me anyway. And you guessed it… mine didn’t lock. Oh well… my shoes are not that expensive anyway in case someone takes it.
When I continued to walk inside, I was immediately confused. First of all, the entrance leads you to the actual common room and not the locker room??? So then I saw my bf on the other side of the common room and I’m like oh LOL. What was the point of the separate entrance doors if it doesn’t lead straight to the locker rooms? Sigh. So I saw the door that had the women’s locker room label and I went in… it was very small, but at least the locks work. After I changed, I went back out to the common room to meet up with my bf… but he wasn’t there yet. So while I was waiting, I still «tried» to keep my optimism and sat on one of the couches that looked so comfy, upholstered in suede. The old man and his friend across from me was SO LOUD literally talking like it’s nobody’s business. So after about a minute, I decided to just wait elsewhere… but there’s no «elsewhere» because the place is so small. I still wanted to get away from that loud man tho so I just stood up and decided to wander around. When I got up, sweat was all over my back. I guess the suede absorbs other people’s sweat? GROSSSSS. By this time, my bf came out and we just looked at each other like what the hell is this? We looked inside the door labeled «café» but no one was there. A narrow hallway was in front of us and when we listened closer, there were voices in the other end. We didn’t want to go in though, it looked so shady and not inviting at all. So then we decided to check out the heated rooms… FAIL. With it being heated AND being small WITH loud people inside, it felt suffocating instead of relaxing.
My bf and I decided to leave this place after about 15 mins of walking around… even with the groupon deal, I’m sorry to say that it still wasn’t worth the money (but at least no one stole my shoes). This was absolutely the worse nightmare in spa history. I’ve been to many spas before and this by far is the nastiest when it comes to pretty much everything. Never again!

It’s small but clean I feel the clay/​mud room has no clay but for the price you can’t beat it

I think the spa isn’t too bad. It includes the clay room (the best !), the salt room (good for skin disease and balancing the water content of your body), 2 steam rooms and 2 hot pools.
It is probably the smallest spa I have seen and I can imagine how crowded it would be if it is on Saturday and Sunday.
Reason I and my friend went to the first spa in here is because we couldn’t take a shower or even using restroom in our house. The broken pipe was under construction for hours. The time we arrived is about 9 pm yet we still managed to try all the rooms before leaving. Anyway it is not a bad experience. To college students it’s probably the best choice out there after midterm and school.
Bad thing about this place are loud people who use the spa. I am not being a racist here but I can’t really stand as some Chinese women are behaving immaturely like kids in the playground. They are noisy, and treating others poorly. It’s the opposite of friendly. Since it’s my first time being here, I literally can’t find my locker, which was standing a Chinese female. During the waiting, I was just placing my towel on the bench (not even close to her stuff), she looked unhappily at me and made an unwelcome and offensive noise to me, and then she took all her stuff and placed them on the other bench which is across the room.
Gee, here is not China.

I went today for spa access with a groupon. Everyone was very friendly and helpful for my first visit, no pressure to purchase added services. I did buy the $ 20foot massage (discounted to$ 15 w/​groupon deal) because I’ve never had one before. The spa, wet and dry sauna areas were clean and nice sized (you can wear a swim suit here). Bathrooms and showers had all the things you’d need including a brush which I forgot! The best part of the place is the salt room — hot like a dry sauna but the air is salty and you lay down on mats in the salt. This was amazing for my nagging sinus problem! The salt and clay rooms are co-​ed so upon check in you’re given a t-​shirt and shorts for when you use this or have other treatments. And that’s no foot massage, it’s a full body over your spa clothes with extra time spent on your feet. It was seriously relaxing, thanks Jeff!

Don’t forget to do the body scrub whenever you come!
The body scrub is really detailed here. The lady named Wendy is doing a great job. The service deserves $ 35 or even higher.
Even though this place is not big and new, but this is the best place for body scrub.

Got this from groupon for $ 12 (sauna, jacuzzi, salt and mud room, shower Only) but paid extra $ 20 (originally $ 25) for a foot and back massage. They give $ 5 discounts if you have a groupon of any kind and if you are using the groupon at the same time as other services.
I got lost in the beginning but the custodian helped me find my way — in Spanish. Thank god i know some spanish!
It was a good experience if you have never tried spas before. I was tired that night so simply the shower before getting in the jacuzzi was already relaxing to me! I only used the mud room and himalayan room saunas because I paid for them. Did not use the wet or dry sauna because I feel like I can use those when I go to the gym.
Anyway, the massage was awful! I have always been right that when you go late, the people giving massages are tired and seems to be rushing. He elbowed the heck out of my back (i have been to many massages before and I know what I am talking about) and used gloves which scratched and tickled me the whole time (the latex glove would make wrinkles and did not feel good at all!) I am more sore than ever. That is why I am giving 3 stars.

I am very sad to announce that Renaissance is not the same as before.

My last visit was December 2015 and my last time.
Renaissance, you were beautiful, neat and clean, why happen?

I started coming here about 7 years ago. The spa used to be very clean, neat and beautiful.
I got many acupressure messages, facials and some scrubs over the years.
Plus, I used to come here just to use the Jacuzzi and the hot rooms.
I had purchased over 30 admissions passes during all these years and even gave to some friends as well.
The unisex common area where TV is. used to be a heated floor so everybody can lay down or walk around with bare feet to relax the muscles. Now, they are replacing with incliner sofas so they can save money on electricity, I guess?
They used to have music on all the time everywhere and every corner. Now, I don’t hear any music or music was on and off, most of time it was off. I guess management are stingy.
The place looks ridiculous today, I’m talking about the lady’s site.
I can’t comment about the gentleman side since I’m not allow there., lol.
There are tapes with writing everywhere and sign everywhere. Just looks awful.
The showers area are a joke, why happen? Mirrors are falling apart and some shower heads are broken and dirty.
The Jacuzzi water used to be crystal clear clean; my last visit Dec 2015 the water was very dirty and at the bottom of Jacuzzi feels sandy/​loose dirt.
All three jacuzzi used to have jet running. Now, they have all jet turn off.
I go to spa to pampered myself and willing to pay little more for a good service spa with nice amenities.
Dislike this place now for being stingy and poor maintenance.
The floor is horrible, I felt like I was walking on wet toilet papers. (The lady side on the jacuzzi’s room).
There is even a sign says ‘If you are in your period; don’t use the Jacuzzi…” OMG.
It’s gross. I can’t believe there are some disgusting girls use Jacuzzi while in their period.
Can the staffs on the front desk. let me people know discretely and go over the rules before guest enter the spa area. Why have to put offensive signs everywhere?
For those girls that have given good reviews during 2015; you must have low standard, don’t care about hygiene or never being to a great beautiful clean spa before to compare.

Just came here tonight for girls night. Use the groupon and you’ll save a lot of money for getting in. Also, seems like they have a lot of deals for the massages (we got $ 5 off any massage). It was $ 15 for a foot massage (1 hour, 10 minutes back massage).
It was nice and relaxing, but I think the experience could have been improved if they didn’t play Chinese dramas in the massage room lol. The chairs were super comfy and the room was mostly quiet and dark though, so I didn’t really mind. The massage was pretty good — the back massage was the best part, IMO. Next time I would probably pay the extra for more time on the back massage.
My cousin got the body scrub for $ 35, which took 40 minutes. She was very happy with it.
The spa part was nice. The showers had nicely scented shampoos. :) I would definitely recommend trying the half body jacuzzi and then the cold jacuzzi. It really relaxed my feet.
I also really enjoyed the sauna, steam room, and the salt and clay rooms. The sauna and steam room were super hot and its split into men and women’s sides so everyone’s nude in there. You’re clothed in the salt and clay rooms and its really nice to lay down in there.
I appreciated that they had water stations everywhere and a coffee machine in the women’s locker room.

No wonder it’s a 3.5 star spa. We got the deal from groupon, you can get half of their original price. Females and males are separated from the cold pools, hot pools, dry sauna and steaming room. You have to be NAKED to be in the rooms, but not the coend. There are two rooms for coend, one is the mug clay, the other is the Himalayan salt room. They are all beneficial to you. The big towel is one per person, very inconvenient for everyone, especially for girls. You come here to sweat, of course you should put towels for people. The dry sauna is not that hot to me. The only good thing is they provide you water, detoxing water too.

I went here with my man and two of my girlfriends, it was awesome. Got the hr long foot rub for all four of us and it was surprisingly really relaxing for the price. The salt room and mud room was great we all got a lil lost but found our way. The restaurant was lovely other than the waitress tried talking my boyfriend out of his soup he wanted because she didn’t think he would like it. Which by the way he loved it. I would give a five star but the staff didn’t really show you where you were going or what to do exactly so be sure to ask questions. Don’t be shy you are completely naked and for those who go with their sweet hearts you will only see each other in the salt and mud rooms. Ps… weird things in drawers for the nosey customers. And be sure to tip the people rubbing you out they deserve it.

If there is one thing I learned or that stood out from my first time at a Jjimjilbang or bath house, it’s NUDITY! LOL yes you read correctly. This would have been helpful if I saw this right on the spot instead of sitting in the changing room waiting till I suddenly see someone strip naked and frantically searching Unilocal reviews from my fellow male Unilocalers out there who have been here stating that this was indeed a public bath house where you truly do bare it all haha! So I’ma just put this out there for any of those who, like me, was a noob, confused, and/​or skeptical as to whether I can keep any undergarments on or any clothes for that matter upon entering the enchanting world of rejuvenation that is the spa.
As I look back on my experience – after a little getting used to my own skin in the presence of others – I actually did enjoy this spa and quite a memorable experience at that. You see, when I first entered the actual room where the saunas, pools, jacuzzis were (good thing there wasn’t really anyone there… yet), I did my own exploring with a towel wrapped around my waist – not quite ready to part with it yet as I went near the sauna. Lo and behold an employee stepped out from the dry sauna, and I think he noticed my naivety as he asked the universal question, «Is this your first time?» and I of course said yes, I mean the towel was wrapped around my waist in a room where everyone else… didn’t…including the employee himself!

Plus, thanks also for calling your fellow female employee to get my wallet from my mom and aunt who was experiencing the same thing on their side of the facility so I can give a tip to my masseuse. SOME BASIC RUNDOWN OF THE PLACE:
Before you engage in some R&R, at the front desk, the employees give you their facility clothes to wear after you do your time in the spa rooms as well as a key to use for the lockers where you can place your personal belongings until you are ready to go home. Right when you enter from the front desk, there’s a cubby where you can put your shoes in exchange for slippers to use inside. There’s a co-​ed lounge setting where you can relax after a while (with clothes this time, unless you’re that comfortable showing the whole world your every being hahaha let me know how that goes). Next to the co-​ed lounge room, which btw is F-​A-​N-​C-​Y looking, like one of those Las Vegas casino interiors, is a salt room and a red clay room, which are specially made to help open your pores (fully clothed still) and have some cleansing and skin rehab as you sweat out in said rooms. My skin was silky smooth afterwards! SCORE!
In the male section of the spa, there’s a restroom there, which is clean and well-​kept and of course the locker rooms where you can change. They have toiletries and beauty products there too for both low and high maintenance people such as myself *cough* *cough*. Inside the spa area, there were also showers where you can sit, and they have shampoos, conditioners, and plastic razors for all your bath needs. Before you can use the jacuzzis, pools, and saunas (there’s a dry and regular one), you shower first either in the sit-​down showers where you literally sit on a chair and do your bathing, or stand up like in those P.E. locker rooms.
I liked how there were three different pools in the male spa section, similar to Goldilocks and the three bears. Not feeling the cold water? Switch over to the hot pool. Too hot? Then go to the lukewarm one in the middle. These accommodate all preferences, which is pretty convenient.
Now on to my massage. I was instructed to wait in the jacuzzi until someone got me, so I waited not too long actually especially after all my confusion and sampling of every thing they had in the spa. I ordered the massage and the salt body scrub. Overall, the massage was good, not the best, and it was definitely interesting to be massaged naked, as if my whole time there wasn’t interesting enough already as it is haha. Though I think I was supposed to get a facial scrub too, but I didn’t receive that, so hence 4 stars.
VERDICT: A must try experience! So go in there, perhaps with a friend or even by yourself. Personally I was glad I was by myself cuz I think I’d be too self-​conscious if I went in there with people I knew considering it was my first time at a bath house and stuff, but I think I’m battle tested now for next time! Just take it ALL off and try it for yourself haha ENJOY!

Tried this out a few weeks ago with a groupon deal. Normally the sauna and Jimjilbang is $ 25. Sauna only is $ 15. Opted to pay a little more for a scrub as well.
Staff very nice at the front desk. Booked and paid for the scrub. You walk through the coed area on the way to the men’s section.
I found the facilities very clean. The steam room was very very hot… too hot for more than 5 mins max. Loved it. The dry sauna was hot, but not scorching like the steam room. The pools were hot and warm.
Standard sit and stand showers for a Korean type spa.
The scrub was great! In a semi private area off of the stand up showers.
The one star knock off is for the «sleeping room». It’s more of a storage room with bright lights. Not relaxing at all. Two doors: one to enter from the men’s locker area, the other who knows what, but very loud talking and shouting on the other side of it.
The coed area had herb soaked water, and little pretzels to nibble on.
Great value for the groupon rate. I’ll be back.

Massage and Spa Mmmmmmm…
Located across the street from Speedzone. Not hard to find. Parking is a little hard to make if the place is packed.
Upon going in, you are greeted at the lobby desk and pay for service and spa admission. Usually need to make an appointment if you want to get a massage. Price is average. Swedish massage is $ 75 /​hr with free use of the facility.
Place is clean but a bit old. I would wear my slippers around.

I bought a groupon deal so i can experience a closer similar like Wi Spa in K town. Sadly disappointed was what I can ultimately say about this place.
A lot smaller, with only 2 domes of salt room and tiny waiting corner. The private women’s area was the typical 2 hot bath and one cold. What bothered me the most about my experience here was the fact that there «Facial Member» door was connected to the women’s locker room and as I was in mid changing that door swung open… but a male staff member name Luis!
I was lucky enough to quickly put on my t-​shirt before he could see my naked body. but lord that is just unacceptable!
