I love this food ! Perfect Chinese food every time! I recommend the young chow fried rice and beef broccoli and the fried calamari and also the seafood crispy noodle chow mein. It’s a bit hard to understand the workers but the food is delicious! Oh and they don’t sell Soda only 1 tiny coke bottle that’s it! Great food must try ! Don’t forget to ask for chili oil!

I came here for a to go order of a Beef fried rice. The proportion was extremely small for what I paid for. Seriously not worth it.

Perfect place to order for pickup ahead thru phone. You can get yummy Chinese/Cantonese cuisine here for a reasonable price and large portions. Based on Unilocal review, Phoenix Food Boutique is famous for their asian desserts. My colleague and I came here for lunch. We got RC chicken phoenix Inn style, Beef chow fun, and shared LK chicken wing and LK marinated dry tofu. We also got dk barley with lime to drink. Everything were good here; you can’t go wrong with Phoenix Food Boutique. I was too full to have dessert. I will definitely come back to try out the dessert here.

I’ve never been to a Phoenix before. This location felt like it just opened or something. The workers were cordial, the location was clean, but it just didn’t strike me as a polished dining establishment(Half and Half next door is a huge step up in ambiance from this place). Luckily, I was just getting dessert. I ordered my sweet tofu and it came with a small cup of sweet ginger. That cup was 1⁄10th the size of the tofu, so that ratio made no sense at all. I also didn’t like the way it tasted, so this entire trip was a wash. It was bland with a faint sour taste, but not enough to taste good. I’ve had ginger tofu I’ve liked, just not this one. Besides that, this place felt very slow. I guess you could say I ordered slowfu! Haha! It took like 5 minutes to get our food, when I’m pretty sure it’s literally the act of putting your hand in a fridge, but I don’t like to judge. I think this place deserves another visit, but just keep in mind that there’s lots of other good places nearby.

I’ve been to this restaurant twice now during non-busy hours, staff is standing around and I’ve have been refused service both times. The first time I stood at the counter in an empty restaurant and nobody came to take my order. They have a dessert case which looks promising but after about 5 minutes of waiting and watching the staff«clean up» behind the counter, I figured the half and half order that I placed next door was ready so I left. My short term memory loss kicks in, I forget about that experience or chalk it up to an off day, whatever, so earlier this week I walk into Phoenix again. This time, two staff members and the cook were talking behind the counter. The restaurant had two occupied tables but the people were finished eating. I forgot about my earlier experience and asked the counter staff, «should I order here at the counter or the table? She says, «if you eat here, order at the table». So sit down and wait, and wait and wait FOROVER45MINUTES. Not a single person brought me a menu, water, or checked in on me. I was working on my laptop so I got a lot done but for people who are looking for a place to eat, I would highly suggest you try another fine dining establishment. After seeing a family walk in and receive their food within a few minutes, I packed up my stuff and asked the cashier at the counter, «do I order food from here or at the table?» She says, «at the table». So I tell her, «I was sitting there for a long time but no one took my order». She just shrugs and gives me an insincere sorry. I am not someone who expects good service from Chinese restaurants(hence I easily forgave Phoenix for my first experience) but this is the first time I’ve been to a restaurant that doesn’t give any service at all.

Not this location! The rudest of people work here. They charged me 18% service fee for bring me the food, water and check. We had to get our own menus, they took our order when they brought out water, then brought out food, then the check with service charge, no one came to refill the empty cups. I question the service charge and they removed it… who in the world charges service fee on a table of two adults and 3 kids, ages 3, 5 and 7! Really? Oh yah… the food… laksa was not up to par. Wonton noodle soup, wontons were good, but noodles was way way over cooked, can’t even pick it up with chopsticks, had to use the spoon. Kids enjoyed the hainan chicken though, but not worth another trip here, drive further to a different location.

This place is ok – no lunch special or specials of any kind. Their main things are their desserts, sweet treats and drinks. Had their mango pudding. It was good but at $ 3.5 for a small portion – thanks but no thank. This time I have the Japanese style pork chop. Japanese style means sweet soy sauce or teriyaki sauce. It was ok, average – nothing to write home about. Just like this place – ok, average, nothing to write home about. The reason why they have fifteen locations is not they are that good. It is because their operating cost is so low. They have centralized kitchen, which means all foods are processed in a big factory-like kitchen, and each day products get trucked to the shop. This way they can better control the cost and the products, which also means that their cooking will always be mediocre – never great.

Came here and ordered mapo minced pork with egg noodle. It clearly says mapo PORK on their menu but they served me mapo with clumped egg noodles. I could barely hold up the noodles without it snapping into tiny pieces or the entire clump coming out of the bowl. I finally asked the workers where my pork was and they tried to sell me the story that even though the menu says mapo with pork, they usually serve it with chicken. Where is the chicken then? It’s fine of the menu changed but I didn’t like how they were giving me so much attitude and acted as if I was the dumb one in the equation. After arguing for a while, they finally asked me to select another dish and charged me extra. So disappointed. I’d give them zero stars if I could.

Horrible service, never even got a refill for water. When I asked for water when leaving, all the server did was look at the tip and never left for the water. I just left mad at this place.

Food is great. We come here often since they have convenient hours even after 10pm. The service attitude is good for a Chinese restaurant. One time I was picking up an order and the lady called out«hello» to get my attention. But it’s all good because I’m Chinese too and I understand it.

I have enjoyed all the desserts I’ve tried here so far: silken tofu mango pudding, durian black sticky rice with coconut(?), flan with coconut noodles.

First time here. Experience wasn’t so hot. Service wasn’t great. The food was really bland. My boyfriend and I ordered the mango coconut rolls and mixed fruit tapioca drink to see if it was worth the hype. We were pretty disappointed. Mango Coconut Rolls: texture was similar to a mochi melted marshmallow with barely any flavor. Didn’t taste much of the coconut at all. It had a bland custard on the inside and the mango, was just a semi-ripe mango. Mixed Fruit Tapioca: It’s decent. It’s better than the rolls that’s for sure. But at the end of the drink, it begins to have a similar taste of coleslaw that we did not enjoy. Won’t be coming back.

I would give this place a 3.5 stars if I could. Since I’m giving it 3, more like a 3.49 haha. Phoenix has typical Cantonese foods. I came here with my family and we had the Yang Zhou Fried Rice, Hong Kong Style Beef Flat Rice Noodles, and the Pan Fried Seafood Noodles. I’ve also had their porridge before, which I thought was pretty good but that was way back when. As far as the food I’ve eaten most recently goes, they were all just okay. There was nothing in particular that made them stand out but there was nothing bad about them either in terms of taste. Service was attentive for lunch hours and food came out really fast. It was also pretty cheap, so there’s that. Parking was not hard to find and if you’re so inclined, Zero Degrees and Half&Half are next door if you want dessert but don’t want to get it at Phoenix.

I come to the Phoenix in City of Industry on a regular basis(Due to the fact that it’s right next to Half & Half). The Korean style beef friend rice is my crack here and I get it every time. Other options I have tried include everything else… but if you’re looking for some highly addictive fried rice I recommend the Korean style beef fried rice. The dessert menu does look tempting the moment you walk in the front door since it looks like a bakery, but with Half & Half and Zero Degrees next door its really tough to eat dessert here.

Phoenix has really exquisite Cantonese food. As I grew up in the Walnut/Rowland Heights area, I have watched 3 Phoenix’s pop up on Colima Road. Phoenix has everything I need when I crave legit Chinese food, from 1000 Year Egg & Pork porridge, to Hainan Chicken, to really well made Singaporean Style Vermicelli. I also enjoy getting their delicious Fried Garlic Chicken Wings. I usually don’t like to eat fried food, but their chicken wings is really worth a try! Aside from their main dishes and appetizers, Phoenix is notable for their extraordinary desserts. Their Mixed Fruit Tapioca Drink is really unique, and every once in a while, I like to get their mango coconut rolls. Both are delightful to try!

This is my go to fast take-out spot. I always get and recommend the same things. 1. Beef chow fun 2. Yeung chow fried rice 3. Garlic chicken wings(they’re deep fried without batter) 4. Lettuce wraps 5. Mixed fruit tapioca 6. Black sticky rice with young coconut I’ve had more from their menu but these are my favorite. I haven’t had anything from the menu that I was horribly disappointed with either, a good sign. If you are short on time and need some Chinese fast food, skip Panda and find yourself a Phoenix. If you like hot sauce with your food, make sure to ask for it. They don’t give it to you unless you ask.

Quality and taste of food is pretty good. Service is super fast and great variety of desserts to pick from. Price is not as bad. About $ 8 a dish or so. The only thing this place lacks is service. We were sitting there for a while until we had to walk to the cashier and ask them to take our orders

For such a small space, it sure packed a lot of punch where it counts. The drinks and the food(the ones I have tried so far) have all been very satisfactory. However, plan ahead and come ahead of the crowd during the typical lunch and dinner hour for best chance of minimal wait time. There simply is not that many tables and chairs that could physically be crammed in here without giving the fire department a hissey fit over potential fire hazard and inadequate escape routes. On the other hand if there was a fire, and you needed to break the window to escape, there are plenty of matching chairs to select from. On my most recent spontaneous visit after placing my regular food order, I was debating which drink item to ordered. I scan through the reviews and finally decided to take Vivian Q’s advice and ordered the Mixed Fruits Tapioca drink. Wow! That was definitely a winner. Portion is decent. The flavor is good. The only thing I don’t like is the large selection of items that all look so good on the menu. For someone that does not live nearby that is a terrible source of stress, not being able to easily decide what to order. Just imagine if you can go on a date with any of the Miss Universe pageant contestants, but you must narrow your choices to just 2, maybe 3 at the most. Okay, maybe not that dramatic, but you get the idea. 4 stars!

You have your favorite spots, and then you have your absolute to die for spots. Phoenix for me is the latter, I would go out of my way to eat here. And I don’t say that about many places. There is so much to review about this place that I would probably be able to write a thesis to describe everything that is created here. For this review I will focus on a few food items they serve and my ultimate favorite drink in the whole world. When you look at a menu item and it says ‘same recipe since 1965′ your beware radar goes up. For this one occasion, turn that radar off and go for it. In the case here it’s their pork porridge with 1000 year old egg. You’ll be delighted by the perfectly cooked porridge that is accompanied by tender morsels of pork cooked to perfection. How do you top off a warm bowl of satisfying congee? With an equally amazing drink of course. When at Phoenix do yourself a favor and order the Mixed Fruit Tapioca. it’s an amazing concoction of tiny diced fruit, accompanied with tender mini tapioca balls all mixed together in a coconut and sugar infused drink. You could do many things wrong, but not if you order the mixed fruit tapioca drink.
